What a breath of fresh air! Unfortunately these new “filmmakers” are really convinced that AF will replace manual focus on professional productions. The problem is that they never been on such productions nor used a proper cinema camera. If you wanna be a videographer and shoot events for the rest of your life, you shouldn’t even consider a Pocket. But if you are an aspiring DP, a real one, the Pocket is just incredible and it will put you in the position to switch to an Arri or RED pretty easily. The other big problem is that these “filmmakers” think about focus as an inconvenient rather than a tool to tell a story when in reality it’s just as important as framing and exposure. And guess what? It’s not rocket science and it’s not something achievable only with a crew. I work by myself quite often and I always pull my own focus without any issues. You just need to learn your craft. Great video man, pretty unbelievable how a 4 years old camera (OG Pocket 6K) still destroys any other new camera under 5K dollars!
Well said bro. It all comes down to the user. Some processes are a standard for a reason. AF can be a helpful tool in many instances , not denying that. But a focus puller on a narrative set will always be the first choice because it's SKILLED position that can communicate to the DP to nail the shot
I love your approach. First I bought this camera and was like "Damn I made a mistake I should have bought an A7IV or FX3" but then I watched Matteos channel and I realized that the BMPCC6k is like the ideal tool to prepare me for what I dream of and want to do. Now I pimped out my BM and it's like a tool that's always reflective of my own skills and I love this camera for it.
I am now a believer of the pocket camera hype. Rented the 6k a while back and was blown away by the image. I also don’t have the best vision so that large monitor was super nice to use.
I whole heartedly agree with you. Im still on the bmpcc 4k and I love it for all the same reasons. Having said that because of all the rigging I personally don’t feel like I get any benefit from the pocket camera’s ergonomics, I don’t feel like I can use it the way blackmagic thought we could. I think that’s why a lot of people want a box style camera, something a little more compact that’s easier to rig up in my opinion would be perfect. In contrary to all this I recently picked up a Sony fx3, much like your comment about the c70 I feel like I can get cinema like quality while also having autofocus, this camera has really helped me with my run and gun shoots, I’m able to throw it in a backpack and it just makes my life much easier for those quick run and gun gigs. That’s not to say the pocket doesn’t get used anymore but its more so reserved for those special projects where I have time to light, pre plan and use an easy rig etc. As an aspiring dp you can’t get better than anything by blackmagic but for my current work as a videographer Sony is just a much better fit while also still being capable of producing commercials, music videos etc
I wholeheartedly agree! Especially the part about people “getting it twisted” and not really understanding it is not meant to be a hybrid camera or compared to one.
i am a sony shooter, but i truly love BMD and the pocket lineup. any time i get to use one is a pleasure. you hit so many nails on the head with this video. so many youtubers want this camera to be an A7iv lol. this is a near PERFECT setup for the everyday DP though. never understood why people care that you have to rig them out when the goal for a DP is to build a nice efficient rig in the first place, in my opinion. i would never show up to a shoot thats longer than like 2 hours without at least V-mount setup on any camera. when you're doing long form or doc style work, rigging is kind of necessary. these are not content creator cameras. i'd love to see BMD refresh the P4K. i have no need or want for 6K, but would love to see the screen and ND from the 6K pro trickle down to a dedicated 4K rig. love your content!
I appreciate your approach and explanation very much! One thing that I think is a problem with TH-cam reviews of cameras is many reviewers aren’t out there shooting and editing commercially. Thus, they tend to focus on so many of the small technical “issues” with cameras. Every camera is far from perfect. And, every professional has their own workflow and type of shooting they prefer. Often times, a TH-cam review of a camera is so narrow in scope and their points do not apply to the viewer. Yet, we can get so laser focused on things that don’t even matter. Get out there and shoot, and learn for yourself what actually is important to you in a camera.
This is true...give a man $1,000 dollars and he can buy a decent painting, give an artist paint and a brush and he can create a masterpiece. It's not about the equipment, it's about the person behind the lens. Keep on creating!!!
I still have the BMPCC OG. I've looked at plenty of hybrid cameras and haven't purchased a single one. Why? The way I see it is if I truly care about the craft of filmmaking, I need to take the time to master the OG first. If I settle for a hybrid camera, I will get lazy. I might not get into rigging because the hybrid camera has EIS. I might not care about color science because I wouldn't use RAW formats. I might not look into accessories like an external monitor because a screen articulates. I'm not saying those features are bad and to each their own. However, true filmmaking and true high production is performed all manual. You have to figure it out for yourself in your own way and master it. I appreciate this video. I appreciate your perspective. I hope others learn from it.
Great analysis. I feel like you really hit the mark here. You‘re pointing out exactly why this is the perfect camera for aspiring filmmakers like myself. I have one fully rigged out and another just with a cage and the EVF for B-Cam purposes / gimbal / backup. I can‘t predict what they‘re going to release today but it most likely won‘t affect me sticking with this camera for now. If anything I‘ll get an Ursa down the road
I agree with everything you've said here. I have been using a P4K (with Milvus glass) for 2.5 years and still love it. I want a 6K Pro for more detail now (and NDs and better screen). I love BRAW and have never used prores. I also want an URSA 12k but have recently decided that a P6K Pro would still be worth getting in the meantime - the three together will cover all bases and also allow a 3 camera shoot when I need it. Autofocus doesn't look cinematic. Peter Mckinnon (who I love) did a film recently 'surviving in the wild' or something and it was ruined for me by the autofocus :-(
You bring up people complaining about battery life but that is an incredibly valid point Josh. Plenty of cameras in the P6K Pro's price range have superior battery life. In 2023, there is no excuse for this camera to still require you to rig up a v-mount or carry half a dozen NP-F570's. I've used this camera plenty, in fact we pair it with Komodo on jobs all the time but I just can't get over the horrendous battery life. So yes, people have very valid complaints when they bring up the battery life. You mention that we need to be prepared to rig the cameras. Not everyone shoots in the same situation and for you to chastise people for NOT wanting to build heavy rigs is a very lame defense for this camera. The lens mount is a whole different story with this thing. You're locked into ONE lens choice unless you physically and semi-parmanently modify the camera's mount system. No thanks. I'll take the versatility of RF or E mount any day of the week. As you well know, we aren't always shooting on one lens mount for jobs. I'll even go as far as to say that the Z Cam out-performs the P6K Pro in this regard due to the user interchangeable lens mounts (which you also know about and I'm surprised you didn't even bring up). Regarding your comment on the C70 being $4K more for AF. Why not bring the FX6 into the discussion then? Both the C70 and FX6 has superior internal ND, CAF, more flexibility with the lens mount, solid codecs, superior IO (yet an arguably inferior menu system) and greatly superior battery life. I agree with you on the IBIS/AF complaints. This isn't the camera for that, however Blackmagic had better get on board with Continuous Autofocus because all of the other major manufacturers are working on implementing or improving AF on their bodies. RED for example (even though they're taking their time) is putting a lot of work into AF/CAF.
People who complain about this camera are just "shoot and run" AF is god for them. True aspect in film making is this form. No af just straight you do it yourself.
I have the bmpcc 6k. I have never felt a need to upgrade or switch. For me as far as the camera goes image is king. I've seen comparisons with other cameras and I reallhy feel like 9 times out of ten the person doing the test doesn't know how to get the best out of BRAW. It's my hobby and it has taken me almost a year to really fine tune my exposure and color grading. I like the results I get from focus pulling. Just being able to control the speed and when focus changes is much more visually pleasing.
I’ve been un-subscribing from a lot of those people wrong people. 😂 I only pay attention to filmmakers like yourself and colorist. The Blackmagic has a beautiful image and B-Raw is amazing to Color-Grade.
@@CineDailies I see it to many times, even in the Fuji groups. I feel like those people want to be filmmakers but want their camera to do all the work for them.
@@JaymesMediai get where you are coming from, but in that case why not use some old film camera and cut the footage by hand? There is nothing wrong with using the technology to create the best work possible. Its not about the camera operator and his ego its about the end product. “Look at me, i pulled focus myself”. Autofocus is an amazing tool and its not like you cant manually focus on a camera with good autofocus. So when people mention the autofocus its definetly a good point and a con of the bmpcc. You either have manual focus only or you have both and claming manual focus only is better is just dumb. Most populair cameras from the last 3/4 years can create stunning images in the right hands, however there is no denying that sony cameras are much more versitile than bmpcc6k. So it cant really be king in 2023 when a7s3 exists, when fuji xh2(s) exist, when r5c exist. Its still a good camera but is no match against whats out there.
@@filmscientist these cameras are better if your just a one man band but if you’re like CineDallies who shoot bigger productions and work with film crews on alot of his projects, you’ll see that autofocus is not used at all. High level Directors & DPs at the top level do not use autofocus because they want complete control of their image. Learning to manual focus is just as important as learning to choose your angles, choosing the right focal lengths, crafting a shot and telling story. All of these skills together is what make cinematography what it is. The newest top of the line Arri & Red Cameras still don’t have autofocus for a reason. The Komodo may have it but it wasn’t originally designed for what people are using it for now.
I have a red komodo and I love it. But I used to own a 6k pro and I loved it as well. It is an underrated beast. You couldn't tell me it didn't have more dynamic range then what was said. My favorite pair with it was the Tamron 24-70mm 2.8,.
6k pro is great for the money. Realistically 12-bit internal is going to offer a lot more data in general than any of the mirrorless shooting 10-bit internal. And of course some of them can do braw and the differences are much smaller at that point, but the external recorder setup can be cumbersome. My only gripe with the 6k is just the poor readout speed/rolling shutter. As a good DP friend of mine said, “the pocket 6k looks amazing until you have to move it.” I think that’s a bit exaggerated likely…but it’s certain something that can be improved when compared to the fast readout speed of some of the newer cameras. Blackmagic has a real opportunity to do something special in its next release. I personally don’t buy into the resolution direction. So I’m not looking for a 12k sensor in a cube…but I would love to see something like the Ursa G2 sensor, which I think is amazing, in an improved form factor. Not directing this at you, but At the end of the day all of the gatekeeping and videographer v filmmaker and all that kind of stuff wearies me. All of the cameras are more than capable of producing great work. Let the work determine how people perceive you as an artist in your craft.
At 4:05 are you mounting the boom pole on two magic arms directly to the cage? If so, does the weight cause any sway in the camera or make the tripod unstable at all? ...Edit.. I just saw at 5:19... but I guess my questions about the sway and tripod still remain. ... I just saw your boom setup on 5:26. I have never seen anyone actually use that accessory mount on the sides of some tripod heads. But really interesting idea.
What you mention from 1:25 to 2:00 in your video is so true. Thanks for pointing this out as the Blackmagic camera is uniquely different to the hybrid camera's 👌👌👌
Amazing video, just recently watched a lot of reviewers saying that camera is big and don't have autofocus. You gave me confidence in buying this camera.
I almost bought one when they came out but thankfully a few people pointed out the fact that it’s a production camera, not a simple run and gun autofocus-reliant camera like I need. Bought an XT4 back then and since sold it for an XH2S and XH2
Hi, Great video! I own a bmpcc6k and 4K and I totally in love. The Braw it’s fantastic and more I learn and more I love this camera 😊💚. All the best from Australia 🤙💥🎥
How about using Metabones for "almost" full frame on this Camera? Is there any adapter available for this? I couldn't find one, if there is any, please let me know.
fantastic reality check. and here I was about to invest in some hybrid camera setup for convenience things like AF, but I already have the 6KG2 which I meant to use for purely artistic/cinematic projects, but I should use it for everything.
Lots of good points. For these small cameras I switched from BMPCC to the Fujifilm X-H2s a while back. The BMPCC 4K/6K cameras have been good for me, but the Fuji is better for me in a bunch of ways. First, I like the color science better. I get a bit more dynamic range. I can record Prores 422 HQ internally (I don't need RAW) on CFExpress cards. I also get a properly articulating screen and a versatile lens mount that can take almost anything. Add to that good battery life and a more ergonomic design, and it's an easy choice for me. Sure, the BMPCC has a much better interface, but it's not something that I'm changing all the time. Also, the BMPCC 6K Pro's ND's are crap, so I always used external IRNDs.
Some folks don't understand the relationship between the BMD cameras, BRAW and DaVinci Resolve. Blackmagic states the camera has 13 stops of dynamic range, which is true; however, once you load the clips into Resolve, choose DaVinci YRGB color managed (without checking the auto box) and HDR DaVinci wide gamut intermediate... ...you just added 3 stops of dynamic range! I have two, a pro and a G2! Love them both!!
@@bobhope1084 I have both and they basically the same. I bought a variable ND for the G2 and it works good. I have an RSC 2 gimbal. I bought the G2 for that!
Josh you earned my respect with this one! I own a pocket 6k pro as well and tbh forgot about it because it’s locked off on a tripod at my church. This inspired me to use it again. But your words ring true as a ACTUAL filmmaker. I swear that list you posted IS some of the only true filmmakers on this platform. Bump all this ibis,autofocus,16-35mm crap. I gotta get better at making my filmmaking vids and join in with y’all spreading the gospel 😂.
Hi Edward, what lens do you use when recording Church services? I'm using my Blackmagic 6k G2 from a distance of about 35m from the where the minister stands and want to use a fixed lens to get close and tight shot of only the minister. I another camera for the wide shot. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
@@eddie_g Thanks Edward for getting back to me. A friend lent me a Canon Macro EF 100mm 1:2.8 USM to try this Sunday, I will give it a try and see how that goes. What would your take be on this lens compared to the Sigma 50-100mm lens?
Hey, thanks for your sharing all the BTS setup. Just saw a nice one at 5:24, what's that thing you use to hold the boompole to the ballhead? Can you share a name or brand.
I have the og,4K and will prob get the 6k pro in e future. U nailed it. The braw is a joy to work with. I’ve a Canon r6 mark 2 and I use it for quick work but bm will always be my ist choice. Footage is rewarding. You are so right on people complaining about battery life, af etc. I started from film and those people who are spoilt by all those features are rob of the joy of the process of learning the craft 🙏 great content well done 👍
Blackmagic team 🤝 Most important point you made here is the pocket NOT SUPPOSED TO BE a versatile, content creation type camera like some other cameras out there, it is not for everyone / every need. The image is really incomparable
Hello, you made my morning. I thought it was a weird thought and that it didn't match my surroundings. I have been a photojournalist for many years and my work has always been "B-Roll" because technical expertise does not guarantee emotion and if not, tell Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ernst Haas or Wes Montgomery. The choice of Blackmagic was clear, I use Milvus and Panaleica that work very well. Thank you for your honest and original point of view.
Just got the pocket 6k and for the first tests its a fantastic camera ☺️ I'm blown away by the image quality. As you have mentioned it's not for everyone but if you want to deep dive into real filmmaking you probably should buy One. Thanks a lot for your review!
Someone has one for $1500 locally but I’m tryna pay rent 😭😭 I love that last point about listening to actual filmmakers if that’s what you wanna get into. Not knocking others but a lot of creators on here are salespeople, ambassadors, and TH-camrs. Not traditional, working filmmakers. So their needs are different and their opinions on certain things should be taken with a grain of salt
A lot maybe are something other than just users of gear, but without them we'd have nothing to go by... I never review stuff I use, at most I might comment on some discussion of a specific aspect of using something but only if I think it's being misunderstood or I disagree in some way. Just agreements etc add nothing.
I agree. It's often reviewed by TH-camrs who want a balanced camera that they can used for video/photos and vlogging, which the Blackmagic line of cameras definitely are not. However, for shooting films and commercials, you would be hard pressed to find a camera that completely outperforms the PCC6K Pro. I almost purchased a Komodo to replace our aging Ursa Mini 4.6K two years ago just as the 6K Pro was released. Someone made available some R3D footage shot on the Komodo for download so I decided I would see how different/better it would be than working with BRAW before I pulled the trigger. I couldn't find any significant improvement in quality that the Komodo produced over the Blackmagic, at least not enough to justify a $3500 price increase.
Literally just found your channel after listening to so many people complain about this camera for everything you said. You’re a breath of fresh air cause I want to get more into video production (currently a video editor using davinci resolve) has to subscribe after hearing your thoughts.
I have had mine for a while and have been taking my time building up the full rig. Moving up from hybrids, it did take me some time to get use to the autofocus system, but then found a great follow focus that I bought and now use nothing but manual focus. It's made me think more and connect more with the subject. It also forces me to think ahead and plan focus moves. It's made me better at this craft. Love the points you made here. A new subscriber, keep it up :-D
true, im with the 4k and committed ...auto focus creeps in my mind but this camera is not made for that ...i have learnt alot......and yes its BRAW is hard to let go of.
Great video, I'm afraid I'm on of those 'youtubers' that compared this camera to the hybrids haha. However to be fair I did also make a counter video explaining why the 6K Pro is better for certain types of filmmaking. As you mentioned, ideally filmmakers should have a 6K pro plus a mirrorless for when those are a better tool. For the budget it's probably better to own a 6K Pro plus an affordable mirrorless, Fuji, Sony A7iv, Panasonic S5ii rather than a top end hybrid. For DP/commercial work, the 6K Pro is the way to go for a starting out or even experienced filmmaker up to a certain budget. I do think there is also the issue in our industry where filmmakers are buying Red Komodo's for work that really can't justify it. I've done some pretty big shoots with the 6K Pro and I've yet to feel that it wasn't good enough.
Hey man, with the dove tail, do you have it mounted onto a tripod plate or how does it work? I have a dovetail from wooden camera but haven’t really seen how I’m supposed to attach it to my tripod and then the camera rig on the dovetail. Thanks
THANKKKKKKKK YOUUUUUU! People are trying to lump all cameras into one category and you can't. I use my Sony and my Pocket for 2 completely different things. It's annoying that people keep doing that.
Great rant! 🙂 I am a pro editor and a hobby filmmaker and even though it took more than a year to figure this it out I never thought it was the camera's fault. And I am still learning. The great thing is that the image has so much juice that sometimes I am able to make "art director" decisions in post. Ones I don't have budget or time on set, changing prop colours for example. Almost all cameras are great nowadays and almost every single one of them is hated for the wrong reasons. There are no exceptions.🤷♂
Finally a video that touch upon something other than just hardware specifications. Have been a passionate and adv. photographer for 30+ years. Now moving into this behemoth of shutter angles, LOG types, color correction, bitdepth, de-Bayering, audio threshold and an obscene amount of gear to mention but a few. Following Philip Bloom, Florent Piovesan, you and a few others have convinced me that I should choose a dedicated video camera and a few cine lenses (and focus pull and cage and video assist and ..). I do not mind manual focus or the lack of stabilization and I do not want to descend into some infantile brand flame-war either, but I will appreciate your input [a lot] before I put my money in one or the other type of eco-systems. Why choose a 6K dual iso Super35 video camera released two years ago over a 6K dual iso Full Frame hybrid camera (gravitating heavily towards video) supporting the same "raw" formats and codecs and released a month ago ? I may be asking the impossible here, but buying from scratch, would you from a picture resolution and -quality perspective still by BMPCC 6K Pro today (compared to what has arrived since its release, that is) ?
Thanks for the comment and support! I would rent and test it out over a few projects. That's the wise thing to do. no point of committing to something you’re not sure about just yet. Here's my code for lensrental: DAILIES15
@@CineDailies I am the one saying thank you - also for the advice. Living in Denmark (Europe) I cannot use the rental code but appreciate the gesture a lot.
Bro I am lowkey just sick from hearing the same complaints about the lack of auto focus or the IBS or the battery being terrible. Yes the battery is terrible but I would rather have a camera with zero auto focus then a camera with terrible auto focus because its always going to be the cameras fault and I will have a really bad attitude and I won't progress forward. I wasn't surprised when I opened the box and found that it didn't have Auto focus like I knew that going in we all did. Love the content boss. Subbed

Great video! I've been looking to upgrade my kit to something like this. I typically use my Panasonic GH5 for all my corporate work, but after recently using P4K, I've fallen in love with it, and I think this upgrade may be perfect for me as I transition to more narrative based projects this year. Bookmarking your video.
Thanks so much for this video... I'm in love with blackmagic products...I don't have fancy 6k but I have bmpcc 4k which still works great in 2023 and with davinci resolve the editing is super crisp... so happy to see filmmakers like you giving legit reasons why their product is so great cause I'm tired of seeing a lot of "anti-bmpcc" videos lately... thank you!
I think auto focus can be very useful even for narrative. But it's different on every camera. You really got to learn that specific cameras auto focus system to properly utilize it. Even if you know the system inside and out there will be situations where the AF just doesn't work well. It's a nice tool to have as an option. Overall I prefer manual focus. I tend to pull my own focus all the time. I can see where AF could come in clutch for specific shots where you don't have a focus puller or proper focus pulling gear/experienced 1st AC.
Thank you for sharing. I personally have disregarded a lot of the negatives on the bmpcc. It's that picture I'm super keen to see. Thanks for the honest review from a film makers view 💪
Very true analysis of the error some users make in complaining about BMPCC. It's a Cinema Camera not a Run'n'gun. You're supposed to soup it up for its intended use.
Dope! Breakdown. I've been on this cam for about a year now, coming from a Sony FS7. Definitely a great camera for what it is. Whence I shoot a short on it, which I may do soon.. it may fully convince me because I was thinking of the FX3. I think a better cine lens for me will make this cam a champ. You got a new follower, by the way too. Salute.
Ive got it and it hasnt skipped a beat. I specifically love it because its not a hybrid. I bought two nice idx batteries and ive never even needed the other😂. BRAW ftw. Ive got a canon r6mii and havent even used the video.
Great video man. I have 1 BMPCC 6k Pro and I couldn't be happier with it. You nailed it all, people just keep comparing it to all the other mirrorless camera because of the price, because I bet that if the camera would cost the same as Komodo people would give it more credit. Stupid, I know. I also have a Canon R6 that I use for more of social media content and that's ok for it, but it doesn't even get close to the BM. So much that I'm even considering buying another 6k pro as my B cam for some projects.
Great video! at 2:10 you said you felt limited with the XH2s, Could you elaborate lightly on that topic? I started with the BMPCC4k and legit loved it, kept my Davinci resolve license and still to this day it's the best video/color-grading app i've ever used.
Tell me if I'm wrong but in my opinion if you shoot almost exclusively in a controlled environment you should go with the bmpcc6k, but for more run and gun style fx30 or panasonic could be a better choice
You can say that with any camera. Why do you think the 6k pro is for “controlled environments” ? I've a documentary on the 6k pro. Nothing was controlled lol

This video is really helpful - thank you! Quick question I love that subtle partial zoom in effect that you and a lot of content creators are doing lately - has a lot of nice ease at the end- is that a plug-in in adobe premiere? Any tips on adding that to my tool kit? Thank you !
Eventually im going to be editing for film like your doing, but im starting small, would you recommend this over the 5rc or r62 im already in the canon eco system, great video it shares allot of light on this camera for sure. thanks in advance.

Isn't that common sense though? The thing doesn't take stills. I don't count the feature where it takes a still frame from the video.
@@joenicklo people sometimes disregard common sense
i am a sony shooter, but i truly love BMD and the pocket lineup. any time i get to use one is a pleasure. you hit so many nails on the head with this video. so many youtubers want this camera to be an A7iv lol. this is a near PERFECT setup for the everyday DP though. never understood why people care that you have to rig them out when the goal for a DP is to build a nice efficient rig in the first place, in my opinion. i would never show up to a shoot thats longer than like 2 hours without at least V-mount setup on any camera. when you're doing long form or doc style work, rigging is kind of necessary. these are not content creator cameras. i'd love to see BMD refresh the P4K. i have no need or want for 6K, but would love to see the screen and ND from the 6K pro trickle down to a dedicated 4K rig. love your content!
I totally agree and thanks for watching!
Perfect video. I agree. And it also goes for the Pocket 4K, 6k, and 6K G2.
Right on man. I use the 6K pro on most of my projects; wedding, commercials, docs. I love it man. Quality!
Just being able to control the speed and when focus changes is much more visually pleasing.
this is actually best video out there for BMPCC
I’ve been un-subscribing from a lot of those people wrong people. 😂 I only pay attention to filmmakers like yourself and colorist. The Blackmagic has a beautiful image and B-Raw is amazing to Color-Grade.
I roll my eyes everytime I see a content creator talk about the size, AF or battery life 🙄
@@CineDailies I see it to many times, even in the Fuji groups. I feel like those people want to be filmmakers but want their camera to do all the work for them.
@@JaymesMedia FACTS
Thanks for watching!

How about using Metabones for "almost" full frame on this Camera? Is there any adapter available for this? I couldn't find one, if there is any, please let me know.
Unfortunately there is no focal reducer for this camera. The OG 6k can have an adapter installed to get close to FF
fantastic reality check. and here I was about to invest in some hybrid camera setup for convenience things like AF, but I already have the 6KG2 which I meant to use for purely artistic/cinematic projects, but I should use it for everything.
It doesn't hurt to get a camera with AF if the job needs it. Rent and test to see what fits best
Loved the breakdown and perspective on the camera! Been looking to get back into the space and videos like yours have been super insightful.
Is the g2 still ok with no be filter or should I buy a 6k pro if I use a variable me on g2 wil it be virtually the same camera ?as 6k pro

Blackmagic team 🤝
Most important point you made here is the pocket NOT SUPPOSED TO BE a versatile, content creation type camera like some other cameras out there, it is not for everyone / every need.
I am thinking of eventually getting the 6k pro to serve as an a camera for my 4k.
Good move
Thank you for making a bare bones video that speaks to the creative and not the nonsense… respect.
Really loving your content! Some great recommendations for filmmakers to follow at the end there. Thanks!
For sure man! Learn all you can from them!
Great video bro!! we can't say enough about BM. Can't wait for the announcement
Ayeee appreciate the lil c70 shout! Solid video dude
Absolutely bro! You're killing it out here!
true, im with the 4k and committed ...auto focus creeps in my mind but this camera is not made for that ...i have learnt alot......and yes its BRAW is hard to let go of.
Sure I’m not dissing AF - if you need it for a project you use it.
Thanks
Use the tripod plate and attach it to the dove tail with 1/4 20 screws and 3/8

Yoooo let’s go! Great video bro!
Thanks fam!
Thank you for making this video, its very helpful.
Awesome

Bro I am lowkey just sick from hearing the same complaints about the lack of auto focus or the IBS or the battery being terrible. Great observations. The BMPCC6KPRO is probably the most underated camera in the market !!!
Thanks so much for this video... I'm in love with blackmagic products...I don't have fancy 6k but I have bmpcc 4k which still works great in 2023 and with davinci resolve the editing is super crisp... so happy to see filmmakers like you giving legit reasons why their product is so great cause I'm tired of seeing a lot of "anti-bmpcc" videos lately... thank you!
Calm voice and great common sense info.
Yeah especially if you're on a smaller crew

Truest video on youtube. Bravo my man, Bravo!
Yep, I’m making a video about that topic next
Hi man! Nice video. Can you talk about your ifootage spider crab boom setup? Just curious how it holds weight and overall performance.
