I was ready to replace my NeoTec with the C5. However, IMO the commitment to the SC2 and the partnership with SENA has alienated a portion of the market - those using another, fantastic brand of comms. I am not going to replace my preferred comm along with the purchase of the new helmet. Sure wish there was a non-SC2 option or the ability to FULLY remove all of the pre-installed SC2 components. You've designed a great helmet (not really innovative though) but really made it less appealing with the SC2. Now, if SENA wanted to introduce their brand to a larger audience, they should have included the whole package in the helmet. In the end, user adoption rates may have been quite phenomenal. But I can only dream.......
Yeah, I just ordered a C5 today and was shocked to see that also. Makes no sense that it's not offered together but I purchased it anyways. These are very good helmets. My last C3 Pro lasted me 10 years and I loved it. I only wish they made a clear inside lens as I ride with dark outside visor and when it gets dark switch to the clear inside and flip up the dark outside visor.
I have been using Neotec with 10U Sena for over 4 years daily. 2 Years ago got Neotec 2 with SRL and last year I got C4 Carbon with SC1. I love first Neotec only bad point is the water rubber seal on top of the visor only lasts a year before ripping of and it leaks in during mid to heavy rain but 10u with Senas 3 botton helmet remote its been flawless. Neotec 2 as a helmet is better, has better visor modulation, feels better fitted but chin vent isnt as effective as first Neotec hence it fogs up more. SRL unit is easiest to use out of 3 but max volume isnt as loud as 10U and SC1. If it didnt break (speakers started to make crackling noise) it would have been the best unit out of 3. C4 carbon feels better than both neotecs, better field of vision, lighter but same as neotec its chin vent isnt as effective as first neotec as it fogs up more too. Visor has limited opening points compared to neotecs and SC1 good battery, better sound quality but operating it is hardest of all 3. Just like Neotec 1 you have to have remote control. My 2 cents

The new strap position puts considerable and uncomfortable pressure on the throat of most users. Integration of the Sena SC-2 comm unit is elegant and easy to use while riding, but the functionality of the SC-2 leaves a lot to be desired when compared to highest-end offerings from Sena or Pactalk. Worst of all (for me) is the SC-2 not integrating with BMW bike controls. Back to the C5 Pro Carbon, if history repeats, ECE certified versions will be available late July, and DOT certified versions available in USA sometime next year. Hope I am wrong! If Schuberth “fixes” the strap position issue, gets early DOT certs, and makes some attractive colorways, I would be a buyer. But the strap thing is a dealbreaker - try one on before buying! There are a lot of people who have problems with this helmet but the most heartbreaking thing is that Schuberth does not communicate about it. At 700€ the helmet and having this kind of problem is a shame!!!
That was a very interesting presentation - thanks Alberto! A bit disappointed by the false advertising by Matteo. He said that C5 Carbon "weights about 200 grams lighter than the version in fiberglass". But guys from the Champion Helmets proved that this claim is a lie. They weighted the fiberglass C5 of the size M at 1647 grams, and C5 Carbon of the same size at 1511 grams. So the carbon fibre version is only 136 grams lighter than the fiberglass one. 136 is definitely NOT "about 200". They also weighted the C4 Pro Carbon earlier - and it was 1483 grams. Let's conclude: the C5 Carbon is heavier than it's predecessor, only comes in 2 outer shell size (while C4 Pro Carbon had 3), and yet (worst of all) C5 Carbon is priced almost 3 TIMES(!!!) MORE EXPENSIVE than it's direct predecessor. I can buy two C4 Pro Carbons, and still have another $337 left in my pocket - all for the price of just one C5 Carbon. That is absolutely insane, ridiculous, and inadequate pricing for the C5 Carbon. So after everything mentioned above I have only one question: dear Schuberth, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!? Are you having some problems? Do you need an assistance? Because I'm really worried for you.

What is the chin bar made form? Is that carbon also? A lot of manufactures cheap out with polycarbonate or similar. At the price this helmet costs I'd expect all carbon.
I can not believe that Shubert went into manufacturing a carbon version of the C5 without sorting out the problems with the C5. Please sort out the problems first, like rattling noises, no clear visor, shields dropping, etc, before manufacturing a carbon. don't your technicians watch TH-cam videos on what customers are actually experiencing in the real world? Schuberth only seems to be interested in profits, but sadly, you'll have lost plenty of loyal customers. The neotec 2 is years older than the C4 but receives more positive reviews. Even the speakers that you'll pre install are not good quality.....

that's all very well, but you've solved the visor problems that no longer close or that fall on their own. The logo that peels off after 3 months?

@@tomlim2005 By removing the visor I managed that it could close again. I put a little grease on the small lugs that block the visor.
