It looks like a nice helmet. That sais, reviewers, such as yourself need to start denouncing the bullcrap comm units deals that Sena likes to make. I have a neotec 2 on the way, and I am NOT looking forward to the struggle of installing my Cardo system on it. If Sena wants to get more market shares from the competition, maybe, just maybe, they would be better off making better products, rather than trying to force helmet buyers into their brand through crappy deals. As for Shoei and Schuberth... come on!!! Your lids are fantastic!! Don't do this! Arai doesn't need to force one brand on comm systems to sell helmets! Neither do you!! STOP IT!!
We hear what you're saying but it's a matter of safety. Helmets cannot be homologated with after market comms systems installed. The helmets are now tested with the integral comms system installed so the C5 passes 22.06 with the Schuberth Sena SC2 system fitted. It probably would not, however, pass the test with an aftermarket system stuck to the shell. Schuberth are a company that will always choose safety over everything. Hope this helps
@@BikerHeadz Now that’s a pathetic excuse. Homologating it with a poor system in place or something which might not be compatible with your friends’ systems forces the user to slap on an aftermarket system anyway which makes your point completely moot. And it just makes the helmet more expensive! The fact that there isn’t a standard in the comm market is bad in itself but Shoei and Schubert can at least try to not make it worse by forcing something on us that we don’t want. If I could choose either Sena or Cardo with this helmet, then fine, but in this case I either have to pick another model/brand of helmet or pay for an integration I’ll never use. You as a reviewer can choose to make your voice heard and perhaps help to make a change or you can just keep sucking up to anyone willing to send you review material.
I'm one of those oddball guys that prefers a dark external visor and clear inside visor. Reason why is I do most of my riding in the day and if and when it gets dark outside I ride with my external visor up and my clear inside visor down. Sadly, Shuberth doesn't make a clear inside visor for the C5 (yet) so I'll have to carry a pair of clear safety glasses with me just in case.
Looking for a new helmet for my wife. We went to try on several helmets today and she really liked the C3 Pro but they didn't have her size (XS). I was gonna order it for her online, but I'm wondering if this helmet is worth the extra expense? Is it that much better than the C3 Pro? Cost isn't really an issue if its a better option. Thought?
Not entirely done with watching this, but this looks promising! It's a heavy piece to put on your nugget, but it should show others how it can be done (Hey! Klim, I'm talking about you...).
My comms battery lasted 12 months and then wouldn’t charge up and they won’t sell you a new internal battery you have to buy a whole new unit unbelievable. Going to buy a Neotec 3 they’ve pissed me off plus the visor won’t stay up even at low speeds no way of tightening it that pisses me off as well.
technical question Schuberth C5 sizing chart sucks. I am 58cm and L is too big. Can I buy the "oval head padding kit" for the size M and fit this to the L? the shell sizes are the same, but not sure if the inner fixed padding changes sizes or its just done with the changeable paddings. So I am asking can I change an L into M with a padding kit?
@@5891jonathan At a extra cost on top of the fact they are already compensating with extra foam trying to turn three shell sizes into more resulting in needlessly bulkier and heavier helmets. They are the most aerodynamic helmets and great if you have the right shaped and sized head.
