Tool is the only band I know that you might not like one of their songs, but if you listen to it 5 times you will fall in love with it. Their songs get better and better with each listen. They don't have one bad song. Keep going with them and you will be amazed.
You have now been infected with Tool. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it. For 25 years of listening to them all the time I still hear new things and life circumstances apply differently to songs I heard in high school in 97-99 vs hearing them again in 2023. It's really awesome. Here is what you should do...get lyrics pulled up on phone so you can follow along but pay attention to the music. That really works and you barely tap into it without knowing what is being said.
Tool are one of those rare bands, somehow they manage to sound even better live. Genuinely, when I saw them live last year, I was completely mesmerised and felt like my face would melt off and my ears would explode from the assault of musical perfection. One of the best bands I've seen live for sure.
With Tool you really need to experience them live to feel that. It does not come through that well from videos. But with Porcupine Tree the live videos / performances are so much better than the album versions.
I saw them live in 22 and it was out of this world. However, getting to know them, many live recordings are poor examples so I'd recommend getting familiar with the studio tracks so you can appreciate the live better. I hope that makes sense.
Great reaction video. The POT is one of Tool's easiest listens. Their music gets more complex and beautiful as you go. To truly see the genius you might try going back and listening again with lyrics. IMHO this is Maynard's strength. His writing is unmatched and very thought provoking. Their music stands on its own. Have fun and enjoy the journey. I am on board. TOOL Army out.
tool does such a good job with atmosphere and tension in their music plus the transistions are insane. there songs start one way and end somewhere else , really is a journey.
same here never forget it , i was driving home after work and sober came on the radio and i never heard any band sound like that. i went to the mall the next day and bought undertow. i still listen to that album today.
This is actually the song that Maynard, the lead singer, recommends as the best song to introduce people to Tool with. The lyrics being entirely American idioms certainly makes it difficult for non native English speakers to get, though. Heck, most younger Americans don't know a lot of what he says in this.
3:37 love it! She’s coming around ;) 3:47 she’s right on 3:59 she’s got it. Quite profound 4:14 RIGHT ON! 5:04 your focus on the music first is the exact recommendation of the singer 6:36 hell yea y’all are in the zone. Do Tool-Reflection 8:35 OH MY GOODNESS please do more Tool. 10:16 lol she’s in disbelief… lol me too 11:25 check out “The Grudge”
My favorite band. Been to nine concerts, they're an incredible experience with all senses. Their whole discography, there are no bad tracks! Listen to them all! Enjoy!
I have been listening to them from day one and have seen all of Maynards bands and I could tell the instant that this song started she had the best most honest smile 😊❤🤙✌️
You go about it right by not worrying about lyrics and just take in the song overall first time and multiple listens will only leave you wanting more. For more I recommend Right in two and with this one you might like reading the lyrics before you react to get an idea because the song is deep with multiple eargasmic moments
Yeah this is my favorite song of tool! goes so hard :) i like a lot of there songs! cool reaction! :) my cousin got me into tool like a year or two ago..
My favorite Tool reactors, welcome back! I love how he just “gets” it. That’s super-fun. Then for her it’s a slow process- that immersion. Only dipping a toe in the hot tub, before soaking it all in. Can’t begin to tell you all the double meanings in the lyrics. Sometimes triple layered. One thing that’s usually left out-actors would rub lemon in their eyes to shed fake tears. I think you’d enjoy Parabol/Parabola (must do both, no break) next!
The talent level of each and every member of Tool is Stellar! Probably my favorite Band of all time. Maynard is a Genius and Danny is one of the best drummers, ever! There is nothing these guys have created is weak, pure mastery of their own crafts! Guys, you have to look into Maynards other works with Puscifer and A Perfect Circle!
Definitely one of the least “chaotic” TOOL songs. A good intro to the band for first time listener….it’s how I introduced my rap-loving son to the band. 👍🏻
There are a lot of Tool songs that require engagement on the part of the listener. They're a little like classical music in that way. You only get the full experience when you start looking for all the interactions between the different parts of the band. I've seen people get quite turned off by some Tool songs, because they couldn't find the groove. It's always there, it's just quite complex sometimes.
If you've already done 46 & 2, react to kids covering that song by the O'Keefe Music foundation. The kids absolutely nail that song but make sure you hear Tools version first to give you reference and appreciation of what those kids do.
They use a lot of odd timing in their music, so it's hard to figure out the feel of the song. They're amazing musicians, and it shows in their technical approach. Their drummer, Danny Carey, is what got me started listening to them since I'm a drummer myself.
Polyrhythmic sound but you are spot on the layers not just the lyrics but the arrangement and expert level of instrumentation and Maynards ability to use his voice. Tool applies the fibonacci sequence to create a lot of its music. Also one of the best live bands ever!!
The Tool Army checking in here... been listening for 27 years now and always hits different every time I listen. The underlying theme behind their songs that I've gleaned is being able to open up and be vulnerable enough to cry in a spiritual way, in a manner of speaking. This, I believe, is considered Lachrymology.
I just found you guys and I'm not sure if you've done it yet or not but if you have done right in 2 I think that's next on you guys to do list and then possibly invincible awesome reaction
Funny to hear a non native english speaker say "how do you say?" when trying to explain how they feel listening to this song because its exactly what native english speakers say.
Tool is almost a genra of its own.if i had to describe them id say a heavyer modern version of pink floyd.i see them live everytime they get close to my area.
Great reaction and I think you two would really enjoy Tool - Right In Two. Its a song from the Angel's perspective, they are puzzled & confused at why God gave man free will.
Please do more Tool. I love not of your reactions to this one and I'll check out anymore you've done. Also all the next ones. I always suggest this to new Tool reactions but the song "H." Is my favorite and it is beautiful. For a hard metal/rock/progressive song is legitimately beautiful. Enjoyed this reaction and I'm sure you will enjoy more, just like I will watching you guys talk about it.
Good reaction. Y'all picked up on some things that are lost on people who can't really hear music. This is a good entry song for most people to get an idea about Tool. I look forward to more.
TOOL's philosophy is no one member of the band is more important than the other, so the vocals are just another instrument, just like the drums and guitars.
Y’all get it. Thank you. I love seeing your wife react. It’s like seeing a nun in line to buy weed. 🤘❤️ Edit: Dominica, I think I speak for most of Tool Army when I say, stop apologizing. We accept you. Not only do we accept you, but it’s mind blowing to see you edify, with every new experience. Be you. Because “you” RAWK 🤘❤️
It's not easy to listen to Tool casually, I think is what you mean to say 8) Your wife has a valuable perspective; "I need to listen to this song more". Tool is like fine wine, it gets better with age.
Progressive rock definitely was designed to make the listeners think beyond what is considered common thinking. This song eludes to a lot of American sayings. The pot calling the kettle black, for instance. Foot in mouth and head up ass, you get a two for one. Love the reaction
That was fun. I turned it up for you, HAHA! Also, I would recommend to not pay attention to the lyrics for your first listen, just treat the vocals as another instrument for now. Lyric videos can be very distracting for a first listen/reaction.
Thanks for this guys. I.ve watched tons of Tool reaction videos but you guys are so genuine, your reactions make me smile!
Tool is the only band I know that you might not like one of their songs, but if you listen to it 5 times you will fall in love with it. Their songs get better and better with each listen. They don't have one bad song. Keep going with them and you will be amazed.
Well said ❤

Her smile says it all 😃 especially towards the end
tool does such a good job with atmosphere and tension in their music plus the transistions are insane. there songs start one way and end somewhere else , really is a journey.
You guys can't go wrong with Tool, they've been my fave band since 93
same here never forget it , i was driving home after work and sober came on the radio and i never heard any band sound like that. i went to the mall the next day and bought undertow. i still listen to that album today.
SUPERB !!!! MAGNIFICENT!!!!!
Defs in my top 5 TOOL songs and I’ve been a massive fan since the mid 1990’s.
Never. Get. Sick. Of. It
A masterpiece 🫶
Is that BOTH of you smiling and jamming out to Tool? ; ) Very happy : )
This is that Tool song that makes you want to go back and listen to other Tool songs that you've already heard.
The TOOL rabbit hole goes deep!🤘
Love the different expressions on your faces - two new Tool fans being born. Was great to watch !!
The bass on this one is surprisingly funky. Love this song ❤ fun reaction to watch
I like to explain Tool’s sound as “Clean Controlled Chaos”.
What a way to enjoy seeing how you react, you managed to make me feel like the first time I heard Tool.
Congratulations, a great reaction¡¡¡¡¡
Tool is just it’s own genre
I heard it called 'Euphoric Metal' by a reviewer called Drew Fortune and I've called it that ever since. It just kinda fits.
You guys are great! New Tool fans!
So loved your reaction! Thanks so much for sharing!
Controlled chaos...its beautiful
Love the video. Watching joy slowly spread across someone's face. Wonderful
Miss Dominika has so much to say. I love listening to her input, she reminds me of my Russian/Scandinavian family…
Love you guys. Truth is behind TOOL .
You can never unhear this ......
I loved watching you two endure and partake of the TOOL.😊😊😊😊😊
They continue to surprise. It's like an adventure

Your joy in hearing outstanding music brings me joy.
I appreciate your reviews because I believe you are hearing the songs for the first time. 🤘
Love your channel. Tool is a journey of one's self, and I thank you for letting us follow along on yours.
Her smile is the smile of a new tool fan ❤
3:37 love it! She’s coming around ;)
3:47 she’s right on
3:59 she’s got it. Quite profound
4:14 RIGHT ON!
5:04 your focus on the music first is the exact recommendation of the singer
6:36 hell yea y’all are in the zone. Do Tool-Reflection

I think reading the lyrics before you listen completes the experience.
One of the best bass riffs
Here. We. Go!!😎👍
Yeah this is my favorite song of tool! goes so hard :) i like a lot of there songs! cool reaction! :) my cousin got me into tool like a year or two ago..
The more your listen to Tool, the more you want to hear from them :D

Continue the experience and keep spiraling out...

You two are legends
like everyone says : i wish i could hear this for the first time again!
Right in Two is another fantastic Tool song to introduce you to their sound. Peace &
The Pot is a good segway song into their discography
ha yes...that's freedom baby
Look out welcome you two to the TOOL army
Love Tool
Definitely one of the least “chaotic” TOOL songs. A good intro to the band for first time listener….it’s how I introduced my rap-loving son to the band. 👍🏻
This is a beautiful anger management song. 🖤 I love Tool they practically raised me.

You should check out Brass Against they are a large brass horn band that covered this song gorgeously!!! ❤❤❤
Tool just hits you on another level, great reaction ! :)
They use a lot of odd timing in their music, so it's hard to figure out the feel of the song. They're amazing musicians, and it shows in their technical approach. Their drummer, Danny Carey, is what got me started listening to them since I'm a drummer myself.
Tool is life changing.
Gotta do VICARIOUS great song
OK, that was fun. 🙃🙂
A few good ones that are good for more beginners...Lateralus and 46 & 2 are great.
More Tool, please! 🌀🌀🌀🙏🙏🙏
that was a great reaction.
Polyrhythmic sound but you are spot on the layers not just the lyrics but the arrangement and expert level of instrumentation and Maynards ability to use his voice. Tool applies the fibonacci sequence to create a lot of its music. Also one of the best live bands ever!!
They are perfectionist. The timing signature is so off and yet it works perfectly
You both are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!
..the base is amasing,listen....
Welcome to the Tool Army!
Gojira - The Gift of Guilt Live at Brixton, the one that got me into them. Absolutely epic performance!
Great reaction and thanks. I would suggest having the lyrics when reacting to Tool. The poetry and meaning are as deep as the music.
The Tool Army checking in here... been listening for 27 years now and always hits different every time I listen. Drop the "Army" part - It's wrong!
The Mrs. at 1:19 "Why...hello there...!"

Awesome reaction guys. Have you done forty six and 2 yet, or H, Sober?
You never catch everything on the first listen. Or even the tenth for that matter.
That was fun. I turned it up for you, HAHA!
Also, I would recommend to not pay attention to the lyrics for your first listen, just treat the vocals as another instrument for now. Lyric videos can be very distracting for a first listen/reaction.
Or most Tool videos. Audio only, studio best, imo. And they seen Sober live. So they kinda have a bead on how Maynard puts himself into the lyrics.
Toolarmy ❤️🔨🔨🔥
🤘🏻🌀
It’s controlled chaos
☘️
Tool ist episch!
Now it begins...
Next reaction : Ænima by TOOL
I see snoopy in the background ;)
Next listen you’ll love the lyrics
I found Waldo!!!
