We've got a current PX3 WT 2lt Bi Turbo and it's a great ride, they get up and go for a truck, but I've got a Next Gen Raptor on order and can't wait, 400hp stock, will be interesting to see how much power we can push out of it, going to be some fun...
What's the belt on the back of engine?
Thanks for coming out for a chat Luke. It's always great sharing what we are up to with the Fullboost audience! If you work in the aftermarket developing products, we might be able to help you!
What is the belt on back of engine for?
@@shayneboyle1188 I'm not sure, but it looks like it might be for the injection pump.
@@shayneboyle1188 High-pressure fuel pump
You talk about the raptor as a totally different vehicle. Did you shoot any video on the raptor disassembly? Would be interesting to see some comparisons with the regular range models.
That workshop looks like what I want to be involved in. Scanning parts and taking cars apart in a good clean environment and the boss seems very likeable no mucking around just knows his work.
This is too cool to see a brand new vehicle disassembled and scanned
Look forward to seeing this in the rear view 12inches of my rear bumper in the near future
Oh look the least original joke for the millionth time.
Every good shop has a bucket of bolts out back. That means you're more efficient than the manufacturer!
I love my 3.2 5 cylinder
There's definitely nothing wrong with the 3.2. Way rather have the 5 cylinder than the 2.0. Driven a few and the low end torque just doesn't feel the same
This is why I like old cars, there wont be a new version next year
Great work guys. Might have missed it. Proper transmission cooler. Does it have one? Current Ranger has had huge issues relating to insufficient transmission cooling.
Hands up who wants to change the belt on the back of the V6! .????
What a work shop!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
so far, my little 2.3 4cylinder 22 ranger 4x4 has been a great little truck. great gas milage rides good trans feels great.
Love to see a video like this on the Raptor when it’s available 👍🏼
I really want a 2017 onwards Ranger, i just cannot justify Landcruiser prices that some people want for 2nd hand
Just for a giggle- borrow Harrop’s Godzilla development engine for the day and see how well it sits between the frame rails…
Knew there was gunna b an out take of Luke getting the bolt kicked under the bench.
Reinstalling the new car smell 😂😂😂😂😂👌 Comment of the day lol
Hats off to Ford embracing of the aftermarket when you look at current trends in manufacturing by the likes of Tesla and Apple who are trying to lock 3rd party repairers and owners from being able to repair their products. Ford are doing the opposite and encouraging the aftermarket to enhance their products for them.
Agreed 👍
Its awesome hey, Toyota did the same with the new Supra.
It’s save cost development as the 2nd tier manufactured spends dollars on the R&D
Love love love the full tear down :)
Do you put the new car smell in a can, when you pull the car apart. Then release the new car smell, when you put the car back together. Also is the new car smell available from your company ?
Is it’s engine going to sound like is fuelled by spanners?
The old T6 P375 2.2 or 3.2 sounds like it runs on spanners
These vids deep into tech info are very interesting. It's great to compare are the stats
AIC content is always great to watch.
Gorgeous garage
Do hope Ford have addressed the snapping crankshaft issues that were the land rover discovery 4 problem
They just keep polishing that turd engine and the Brand blinded keep buying the crap.. 🤮
Mate, that workshop 🤤
That looks like engine out to do that rear timing belt on the V6.
Gearbox off.
Ouch
It’s a pile of crap
@@morcosboci no gearbox out and it’s not a timing belt it’s a fuel pump belt with tensioner.
@@tba3900 And I'd hate to be the poor f*cker who has to change that belt.
I can’t believe you guys have been doing this for 25 years
You only look like you left high school last week 😂😂👍👍
Ford killing it currently
Unfortunately they are stopping their hot hatches.
@@fullboost blame the greenies and the car owns that have given up on life and bought a SUV. Add to that the premium price for a ST the writing was on the wall years ago. Unfortunately some components for the fiesta and focus were made in the Ukraine and you just can go down to local manufacturer and say I want 100000 of these yesterday.
Woah! Reading the title I was expecting a dis video. They I saw they LITERALLY tore it apart... 🤣 Well done!
Thanks for the info guys. I have an XLT on order, should be here April. Would you recomend putting a catch can on it. I read it is not needed on the new gen Ranger. Not sure what to believe....
Say goodbye to your engine warranty if you do. I enquired about one as well. Because its a recirculation set up it pressurizes the crank case. Ford are on to it so do so at your own risk.
Have to heat those loc tight bolts and they'll come right out.
They took that front suspension off the F150
well i am not looking forward to the first lift kit in one of theses then.. i think ill try and knock the studs out!!
great stuff fascinating insight..
Great vid very interesting 👍
great work! good for the after market industries in OZ
Is it the same engine family as the V6 diesel in the Territory ??
Yep, Landrover and others as well.
need to put a 2k barra in that ... hell yeah
So which one gets the cast aluminium knuckle and which gets cast iron?
I was looking at those brakes at the dealership. Are you guys going to be testing stopping performance differences between those models?
I am guessing the xlt and up won't beable to fit most 16" rims?
I like the new rangers, though waiting for them to release a full or phev hybrid model before I snap one up.
Very interesting many thanks
It's originally a peugeot motor the v6, it's a v6 TT in the peugeot 407 coupe,
Then peugeot sold it to Land rover
I own a ranger and I take offence to being called a tail gater I leave at least 2m gap
Used to have a new work car with the 3.2 and it felt gutless so I'm not sure why people liked it 😅
I would buy... but I'm just going to hold out for the F150 next year.
What a complete load of dribble
Love my ranger
Buyers beware, I bought the first 3.2 L that came out back in the day and it was nothing but a problematic piece of shit, never buy the first model let them work out the teething issues first
260k on mine never missed a beat all i put on it was a catch can.
@@grimreaper6112 I had a lemon, had my first motor replaced after 5000 k’s, Second engine replaced at 40,000 k’s and when the third one was due I traded for an even worse SR5😔
Every tradies wet dream
Great sense of humour fellas. Could have been very boring otherwise
I think you’ll find the V6 is an evolution of the PSA 2.7 V6 diesel used by JLR and Ford since the early naughties… just like the 3.2 5-cyl was an evolution of LR’s TD5 from the late 90’s!
spot on matey. engines are incredibly expensive to build and get through emissions so with big name manufacturers owning all the little guys sharing engine 'platforms' is a no brainer.
I think it's a VW engine
You might be right about the V6, but the 3.2 was not an evolution of the LR TD5. Only thing they have in common is being 5 pot diesels.
@@morcosboci Land rover
Yep. based on the original Lion series built by Ford UK. Co-designed with PSA group.
Is that the guy with the LS RX7?
2k barra swap when
Why just a single AND a twin turbo version? wouldn't that defeat the purpose sort of?
Everyone wants to know how hard is it to disable/block the EGR on the 3.0L.v6
Why did they pull the new one apart?
To look at what's inside. But seriously, investigate what this company does and you will understand.
Gotta laugh at the Ford version of 600nm. A recent video showed the lower torque VW Amarok leaving the Ford Ranger behind, despite the Ranger having more gears and standard rubber vs the Amarok's LT AT's (heavier and larger than stock, if you're wondering). Must be ponies rather than horses. Cannot understand why VW would put the Lion engine in when they have a better V6.
Watch it again dribble that was the petrol new amarock the v6 were neck and neck , keep your hands out of your pockets
Was that a rear timing belt ? That will be an interesting service replacement and cost , will the engine need to come out for a rear belt replacement? If that’s the case this engine is a terrible design .
That’s the high pressure fuel pump drive belt in the discovery’s and Range Rover sports it’s due for replacement at around 150,000klms it’s normally cab off in those to replace 😮 them I sure hope they have strengthened their week crankshafts as large number of them snapped in half in the discoveries and range Rover sport there is a guy on TH-cam in England who replaces loads of snap crankshaft L R discovery’s
@@paulshennan2504 I’ve never trusted anything that ford makes , some others are no better but for an established brand that’s been around since the beginning of cars you’d think they make a reliable long lasting cost effective product
Ford made 1 great engine The Barra.
So it's a new,old Landrover tractor motor 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Mr negative
Where's the Raptor none available for scrutiny 🤔🤔🤔
Watch this space 👍
@@fullboost Still watching.
Debería de ser en español tambien
Over priced for what it is, in the states the full spec is only $47 grand. GWM is coming for them.
Naw, drop a nasty 2JZ in it.
Give me a FORD and I’ll trade it in on a TOYOTA in a heart beat. 😂
the interviewer refers to the 3.2 lt engine being a truck engine as like its a bad thing.
Well I would rather a truck engine in my 4x4 then a car engine.
The 3.2 is utter snot. They've been a shocking engine since day dot and never got any better... We have a large vehicle fleet with loads of them in it and they are the most unreliable thing we've ever operated. I am pleased to see the back of them to be honest. The 2.0 bi-turbo or single turbo surely cannot be worse than the P5AT
@@dwaynE2099 got 350 000 on mine , havent spent a cent on i it bar servicing
Would you really call that a shit box ?? 👍👍
@@mattwhite3270 I would say it is the exception not the rule. Fleet of 70+ utes only one P5AT has ever made it past 300k without a catastrophic failure of some sort during its life......it did need a full set of glow plugs, injectors and a turbo all at seperate times during the 200-300k period to keep it going...
@@dwaynE2099 A high revving and highly stressed engine does not equal long life and low maintenance.
how tall are you in metric system haha
Doesn't look like you can fit any blokes in the tray longways without having the tailgate down.
not many 4wds even have a usable bed/tray length
I will lay down with you bro
Ranger raptor????
What's with the f truck knock off front end looks like rubbish compared to the old one
It actually looks better in person
@@shayneboyle1188 maybe it's the silver looked up some other pictures and didn't look bad 🤔
This may sound like a stupid question. Why do you take the car apart.
Just asking. 👍
To obtain scan data.
@@fullboost for what
@@shayneboyle1188 For many things. I E if you wanted to manufacture suspension parts you would have a 3D scan of components and space restrictions so you can design parts without access to the vehicle itself.
@@fullboost the data is sold to third parties, cheers if I'm correct 👍
Sold to aftermarket parts manufacturers for bullbars, side steps, canopy etc
They look good but with so many variables I perceive the spares are gona be a pain later down the track as less interchangeable components...
Shame on ford for going away from simplicity.
Is there a diesel Barra varient (jokes)
How about they just get rid of Ranger and bring in the F series utes trucks??? 🥴🥴🥴🥴
The real question is did AIC Luke disassemble your 2022 WRX after weighing it? 😈😛
We did weigh it and she's a fatty haha...

Great content and great people down at auto innovation but fuck I’m sick of seeing and hearing about these things.
When its all that Ford has to offer in Australia they have to blow wind up its arse… 16000 ks of testing in Australia on the ad, id call it a Handgrenade in waiting.

The guy that bags out the 3.2l engine is a clown. The ford 3 2l is a great engine if he thinks thats bad he should compare a hilux engine to it.
It's a bucket of shit lol...
Wow how ugly are the headlights on this spec!! 😳🤮
It looks like it has down syndrome
Same on them all
Can you please explain what the fuck it is you do? You have pulled a brand new car apart why??????
Perhaps watch the video 👍
@@fullboost i did and you dont explain what you are doing.
3.2ltr tractor engine from someone who buys a Subaru.
The bi turbo 2L is miles nicer to drive. 👍 And unlike the Subaru there is far more choice in the dual cab market.
@@fullboost 2L bi turbo is a nugget 🤣. Tow something heavy with it youll see 🤣🤣. In terms of tuning, its maxxed compared to the 3.2. The v6 turbo is going to be the one to buy!
These motor's haven't proven themselves yet you know what they say about new production models the 1st lot are always suspect I'll stick with my trusty tractor motor thank's
The V6 is new, the I4 is mostly carry over from the old model.
But first model year should be avoided.
What the hell are you gunna do with 10 gear's ridiculous even in the Mustang it's ridiculous.
What 10 speed car have you got?
Suppose you say the same about V8 , 8 cylinder that’s ridiculous. The reason why 10 is to meet emission targets and fuel economy targets.
