1:01:02 the best answer for this condition is Gebura "Great Split - Vertical", but not target it at "Beatdown" but clash it with another active speed die, because the effect from "Great Split - Vertical" is to cancel a random combat page that used by target at that turn, and because she only use 2, it's 100% gonna cancel "Beatdown" but at stage 2, the probability is lower to 33-25% because Tanya use more combat page
I love the voice acting in Oswald cutscene the most. It alway feel scary when a silly sound character become more and more normal and finally speak normally during a dialogue.
I love the theme of the Gebura fight, “The strong survive” versus “It’s the survivors who are strong.” I never experienced Gebura to deafest Social Darwinism through tag-teaming it’s personification to death
I really like Oswald. It was a bit hard for me to understand clown, but after reading his Cradenza story I actually really like his Philosophy. It's an interesting counterpoint to Tiphereth's own. And asides from that, this fight is fun. The return of the 8 O'Clock Circus Music, his card effects, his dialogue, the names his cards and passives have, the sounds he makes when he hits you, it's all brimming with so much personality. And Oswald's just overall a nice clown. Stuff like his ally death quotes, and that he was going to prepare a feast for when Emma and Noah from all the way back when came back, gives the idea that he really does care. I like him, he's fun. It's just a shame that this fight is probably the second easiest. I really wish we got to know who Oswald was before distorting. O-oh, you did Tanya too? Um...I'll put her dialogue after Oswald's. Anyways, here's the easiest Ensemble fight. Lol Red Mist. Just put Lone Fixer on Gebruh and that's it, you've won the fight. Mountain of Corpses if you want to rub it in. Melee pages are Near, Ranged pages are Far, and Special is for specific pages. But Mass Attack pages have unique ranges. FarArea for Summation, FarAreaEach for Individual, along with Affection ranges like Team, All, and Passive. Passive being for unique targeting mechanics, like Apocalypse Bird targeting characters with Heavy Guilt. So what does Beatdown fall under? It has the range of Near, but the Affection of TeamNear. So it targets everyone like a Mass Attack, but is treated like a melee page. Pretty cool, huh? Also I really don't blame you for not guessing there's a way to counter Beatdown. Who the hell uses Greater Split Vertical for it's ability to destroy other pages set on a random speed die? I think this is the only instance in the game where that's what they mean for you to do. unpopular opinion but i think that using the whole team to defeat tanya is far more thematically appropiate than soloing her with geb geb's philosophy is about how people are stronger when they work together for a shared goal and tanya is the stereotypical lone wolf who thinks shes stronger than the rest when she works on her own
I tried to before and found that solo is way better for both fight against the Red mist and Tanya purely because you can ramp up emotion way faster cause they don't throw out enough speed dice to clash

This is reflected in Oswald’s design, as clowns put on fake personalities and serve as a chaotic form of entertainment that wow people with party tricks. The Qliphoth of Gebura is named Golohab. Golohab represents merciless violence and biased judgment. This is reflected by Tanya’s whole character being based around using violence to strike down at those weaker than her for her own selfish reasons as opposed to Gebura who used her strength as The Red Mist to protect those who could not protect themselves.

It doesn't help that the one noteable thing Oswald does can be nullified with a MA. The game never tells you that, but the artbook clarifies that Tanya was once a noteable figure in the Middle before Roland barged in and killed everyone around her. This is what made her Distort and adopt her current mindset. No info is given on Oswald, he's just a clown too tired of putting up with the City's nonsense.
Actually fighting with a full team is more thematic. (Apparently originally PM intended for Tanya to comment Geburah fights with all those librarians with her but PM nixed it because most players just resorted to solo Red Mist strategies lol)
I'd like to point out that technically the food chain works in our world too, It's just replaced by positions of power and money. Replace Tanya with a person with tons of money and no qualms about using it to ruin lives for their own gain and there you go. Cancer research comes to mind. There are a ton of ways cancer can be reduced/prevented, but they aren't spread cause it eats into the Hospital's bottom line. Of course, that's primarily an American problem, but there are a ton of other ways people abuse power and money. Australia's not called the gambling capital of the world because their politicians and businessmen are a bunch of squeaky-clean angels, Japan doesn't have an official word for dying of work exhaustion for no reason either, don't even get me started on China, and North Korea's entire system can go **** itself.
I feel like Oswald's passive works rather well with rapid gashes since it's (slash,pierce,block) and it give All the dice on it +1 powe and even more dmg basically direct upgrade from throwing dark cloud on your rapid gash nugget
Wouldn't Foreman be able to cancel the Mind Control Card if he used a Mass Summation AKA "QoH's Card" to cancel a Gun Card Type Mind Control, like what he did on Greta's Fight? Or I'm just blind that, that wasn't possible to do.
Tanya fight is too easy with a team as one sided attacks just overwhelm single opponents, the fight is really balanced around a solo fight. Kind of wished they buffed Tanya with more counter dice if shes facing multiple people.
I'd actually make her get stronger the more speed dice you have AND the more power you have. You will still deal more damage when you win, but so will Tanya.
I have to ask why did you choose the objectively worse abno page? I understand you won so in the end it doesn't matter but objectively vampirism does the same average damage and heals(also prey only works on the character with the abno page). I also find it funny that the floor of language actually makes Gebura more powerful when she doesn't have a team or if she consumes them but foreman is like "teamwork is OP"

Kind of dumb having a wolf argue about living based on individual strength. They are all about having your family look out for you. Should have gone for a bear to be more on theme.
I think out of all the ensemble I hate Oswald the most, and that's saying something. His philosophy is forced positive thinking taken to the extreme, and reminds me dangerously of corporate-encouraged messaging and exploitative self-help messages. "Negative" feelings are not just useful, but crucial. Pain is necessary to signal situations that must be avoided. Despair is necessary to force rest. Most important of all, anger at injustice is necessary for justice, as it suppresses the mind's immediate survival drive to achieve greater long-term survival needs.
I think, while the whole forced positivity aspect is messed up, the idea of doing things you want to do and not just pushing things to do later has some value. That at least has some practical uses compared to for example Tanja's Social Darwinism.
But it's not forced positivity. What Oswald does is live in the moment, he's still very much capable of disliking things (he reacts strongly to his friends being killed), but he takes everything as it comes instead of having any expectations for the future and people around him. In other words, if you barge in to ruin his day, he'll lash out, but he's not going to feel extra angry if someone walks into his circus, listens to what he has to offer and then chooses to attack.

I'd like to point out that technically the food chain works in our world too, It's just replaced by positions of power and money. Replace Tanya with a person with tons of money and no qualms about using it to ruin lives for their own gain and there you go. Cancer research comes to mind. There are a ton of ways cancer can be reduced/prevented, but they aren't spread cause it eats into the Hospital's bottom line. Of course, that's primarily an American problem, but there are a ton of other ways people abuse power and money. Australia's not called the gambling capital of the world because their politicians and businessmen are a bunch of squeaky-clean angels, Japan doesn't have an official word for dying of work exhaustion for no reason either, don't even get me started on China, and North Korea's entire system can go **** itself.
I feel like Oswald's passive works rather well with rapid gashes since it's (slash,pierce,block) and it give All the dice on it +1 powe and even more dmg basically direct upgrade from throwing dark cloud on your rapid gash nugget

Wouldn't Foreman be able to cancel the Mind Control Card if he used a Mass Summation AKA "QoH's Card" to cancel a Gun Card Type Mind Control, like what he did on Greta's Fight?

Tanya fight is too easy with a team as one sided attacks just overwhelm single opponents, the fight is really balanced around a solo fight. Kind of wished they buffed Tanya with more counter dice if shes facing multiple people.
I'd actually make her get stronger the more speed dice you have AND the more power you have. You will still deal more damage when you win, but so will Tanya.

I have to ask why did you choose the objectively worse abno page? I understand you won so in the end it doesn't matter but objectively vampirism does the same average damage and heals(also prey only works on the character with the abno page).
I also find it funny that the floor of language actually makes Gebura more powerful when she doesn't have a team or if she consumes them but foreman is like "teamwork is OP"

@@Joe19219 Weird, It didn't seem to appear for me. Is it only when one character is redirecting the same die multiple times, or should it also appear if two people are redirecting the same die?
@@MIC132MIC You should have multiple clashes and the numbers of your speed die you using should higher than the opponent's die's. It doesn't matter whether they from one person or from multiple people, as long as the speed is higher.

Kind of dumb having a wolf argue about living based on individual strength. They are all about having your family look out for you. Should have gone for a bear to be more on theme.
I think out of all the ensemble I hate Oswald the most, and that's saying something. His philosophy is forced positive thinking taken to the extreme, and reminds me dangerously of corporate-encouraged messaging and exploitative self-help messages. "Negative" feelings are not just useful, but crucial. Pain is necessary to signal situations that must be avoided. Despair is necessary to force rest. Most important of all, anger at injustice is necessary for justice, as it suppresses the mind's immediate survival drive to achieve greater long-term survival needs.
I think, while the whole forced positivity aspect is messed up, the idea of doing things you want to do and not just pushing things to do later has some value. That at least has some practical uses compared to for example Tanja's Social Darwinism.
But it's not forced positivity. What Oswald does is live in the moment, he's still very much capable of disliking things (he reacts strongly to his friends being killed), but he takes everything as it comes instead of having any expectations for the future and people around him.
In other words, if you barge in to ruin his day, he'll lash out, but he's not going to feel extra angry if someone walks into his circus, listens to what he has to offer and then chooses to attack.

@@plinfan6541 Philip isn't positive, but he's also not negative. He and Oswald actually align fairly well since both hate having expectations dumped on them, the former is just literally lobotomized and can't express much emotion over anything.

@@anothenblue2630thats exactly why, the loop being so short means it gets really boring really quickly, paired with it overlapping with the ensemble theme, which also makes it headache inducing, just makes me want to turn off the sound after 2 minutes of listening to it
