Looks a great mod, the size blows me away tbh, as an avid ntw3 player how does the mod match up, like line of sight, fatigue please, I'm not a fan of seeing the range you can shoot tbh but other than that looks great!
@@scotttudor3975 We also have Fog of War so scouting is super important, and we took into account that some men were trained / used to searching more than others, so some units have a longer sight range than others for spotting units (ie, Canada's Natives, units that were historically hunters etc etc). Fatigue is also a massive factor - the worse your fatigue is, the worse your morale, accuracy, reload, speed, melee is. It really is something you have to balance, as your men tire very fast (~10 seconds of running will get them to winded/tired) so you have to choose when to run to catch something, and when to walk. Running also makes you visible to everyone through Fog of War.

It pushes the boundaries of total war as a whole. Medieval and especially classic battles were also with armies on the tens of thousands. CA should learn from this mod

It's incredibly ironic that there's a Napoleon mod converting it to the great war. In the post Napoleonic era, they referred to the wars as "the Great War".
I do get a bit annoyed that people don’t realise that the Napoleonic wars WERE the first “World Wars” - Pretty much every nation on earth were fighting at the time. All of Europe, America, China, North Africa…
@@danthemantis3878 That's because most of the conflict took place in Europe. A world war, would mean quite literally conflicts in all theaters/continents of the world. That's why WW1 is considered the first, because it expanded beyond Europe, although there are also other factors included. For instance, a "World War" is not merely to imply their global theatres either, but their fundamentally new "modern warfare" nature that was so terrifying and intimidating, they endangered the world. After WW2, the policy of most developed/participating states has been "never again a war like this."
Napoleom TW is by far the BEST total war; however It has it's problems, for me the most disturbing one is that when the cannon ball hits a regiment and more than half of them stand Up after...
EXACTLY!!! Finally someone mentioned that but fcn does not gave that problem,1 good canon ball WILL kill around 10 men and the other 10 will get up so it's still a great amount! It was frustrating to see artillery only kill like 3 dudes

@@TheBranchez Which mod is the best to play historical or custom battles against the AI? I dont expect the very best AI but I only play single player. As long as there is some kind of unit variety, big battles and interesting maps I will enjoy it for sure.
@@jorgemartin5316 NTW3 is good for singleplayer battles too, but its primary focus is multiplayer. Having not played any other mod, i can't compare it to them, but it definitely has better AI than vanilla.
The pinnacle for an N:TW mod in my eyes would be to play out the battle of Waterloo with the exact number of troops that were actually there and have them all on one map that is to the exact scale of the battle. Yep, I am talking 70k+ troops on the French side, about 68k+ for Wellingtons Army, and then having 50k+ Prussians marching down the road at the end of the whole thing.
If playing our divisions submod, you can get surprisingly close in a 4v4. The only issue would be crashing, as the engine genuinely is unable to handle the men on the field and it crashes. We had to find a way to still have massive battles while making it actually playable In divisions each player can get like 12,000 men, so your getting close to 60K per side if you’re doing a 4v4
Idk if you've played SMITE but I think a communication system similar to SMITE's would be a a decent method of in game communication, assuming there is no mic communication like discord. Maybe have the players have a certain delay in thier communication to simulate the time needed for a commander to receive Intel or orders from the general.
Wish someone would bring awareness to and touch on the fact CA has been silent and outright ignoring their fans in regards to the incompatibility of Napoleon total war with the recent 12th & 13th Gen Intel Processors.
The sad thing is that Napoleon is unplayable on most modern CPUs. I bought it recently and it wouldn’t launch. Looked it up and was basically told it’s not compatible with my 12th gen Intel processor and never will be. I can play it on my Mac from the Mac App Store but can’t mod it then. :(

You know, I hope creative assembly takes a few cues from this. They should make it a goal to have battles be freaking ginormous in their next historical total war game.
I used to do something similar with save game editors for Empire, Napoleon, Shogun 2 and Rome 2. You can easily have 100 units per stack. The AI honestly does a lot better with it because it doesn't matter if they have a lot of shit units they tend to end up with a more balanced army just by the fact they have 50 units in a stack. It means you can have a decent amount of infantry, cavalry, and artillery. Big cavalry charges can be decisive, though large blocks of infantry can easily hold out for a long time. It also allows you to have multiple battle lines and utilise reserves in larger battles.
It's a shame Napoleon TW no longer works on any modern PCs. Any PC with an Intel CPU from the last 2 entire generations of chips is unable to play this game :(
Yeah well it ain’t odd that Britain is the best if the game is going for accuracy. They had the fastest firing army in the world thanks to being of the few training with live ammunition, they didn’t use conscription and only had professional trained soldiers, one of histories best generals and also Rifles. Britain, Portugal and Prussia is one of the few that started with rifles early. Napoleon hated them cause they loaded slowly. But thanks to napoleons stubbornness, Britain won most skirmishes. Also ofc, the magnificent platoon fire that Britain developed. Constant firing from 2 ranks. While most nations still only fired by rank, Britain fired by platoon or company. It was a rolling train of death. Most other nations had 3 ranks and fired by ranks. Not as efficient. Napoleons over use of conscripts also made him forced to attack by columns which worked great against all other nations, but against wellingtons army it was just a field day.
it works surprisingly well, trust me haha in a 4v4 we do get a bit of units flickering in and out of existence but it doesn't make a change to the game in ways other than visual, and does not come up in replays
in my opinion the most ambitious and creative game CA could ever made was if somehow CA made a total war spaning all historical total war titles since rome 1, shogun 2, empire .... How would this work?? essentially your faction let's say rome would evolve into the medeval age with gunpowder wepowns, new tactics, new units while also kepping with tradition with elite Pretorian guard giving moral bonus to other units.... the end game would be in WW1, fighting for resources to make atomic bomb and finally the alliance that survived gets a special cutcenne marking all your failures and accomplishments and giving you achievements and orchestra singing to end credits. If this is not possible CA please just give us total war in WW1, I would buy at least 2 copies of the game,it would be so coll.

Can Field Command Mod [FCM ] run with other mods like Napoloen Total War 3 [NTW3] mod and others? I.e. what are the best bunch of mods to run togther for Napoloane TW etc? Great to see such mods still be done though for this game - getting back into Sharpe Books, Series, Napoloen movie coming and binging on period stuff and be nice to do this game again but with the best mods.
I know when I was a kid playing napoleon total war I thought we would have realistic 100k army battles by now and more detailed maps. Instead we have warhammer. What happened with the gaming industry?
Great stuff man. So I downloaded the mod and in multiplayer only like 10 games showed up and all in red. Wasn’t able to join any of them because it said I had a different version? Anyone have any ideas I overlooked? Maybe the discord is my best bet.
It’s a shame for Napoleon though. I want to play that game but since I upgraded to a 12th gen intel processor the game won’t start. Seems to be a known bug and still hasn’t been fixed since Napoleon is an older game.

The new version of FCN is bringing a campaign that unlocks every single faction in the game, including emergent factions (Like Poland and Hannover etc) Its currently still in beta but if you join the discord and ping me I can send you the files (although some unit cards may be a bit glitchy)
Where do you have mods for empire?😕 On Rome2, Attila, Troy i have tons of mods but no mods throught steam on empire.. i wish better grafics, sounds etc..
They are in our discord, however the Singleplayer campaign has been lost to time, and the Divisions is currently outdated, as I am pending the next update :)
Just been playing it tonight and the gun sounds are a little off and out of sync simetimes they wil make a noise and sometimes they didn't. Did you experience this?

I downloaded the 5.0 version, I'm learning that if it doesn't have its own separate launcher... it clashes with other mods and doesn't seem to work. I did get it downloaded but the map names disappear and most of the names of the nations disappear as well, and the how to install video was simple. Even with the simplicity of the download videos it still somehow didn't work. Any recommendations? I have darthmod, NTW3, and The Great War all downloaded, perhaps that's the problem?
It's too bad that those of us with newer computers with gen 12 or higher can't enjoy this due to Sega refusing to update Napoleon. They update everything other game even Empire, but for some reason they hate Napoleon

What's wrong with remaking Age of Empires? Its a great, timeless game, completely different to Total War. Its like comparing apples and oranges.

Ive been playing this mod for a while. The tldr, its NTW3 minus the 50 man squads, and 1.1mph horses at full gallop. Ovjectively better than NTW3.

The thing is Napoleons engine is not made for so much units de fps are gonna kill me
it works surprisingly well, trust me haha
in a 4v4 we do get a bit of units flickering in and out of existence but it doesn't make a change to the game in ways other than visual, and does not come up in replays
in my opinion the most ambitious and creative game CA could ever made was if somehow CA made a total war spaning all historical total war titles since rome 1, shogun 2, empire .... How would this work?? essentially your faction let's say rome would evolve into the medeval age with gunpowder wepowns, new tactics, new units while also kepping with tradition with elite Pretorian guard giving moral bonus to other units.... the end game would be in WW1, fighting for resources to make atomic bomb and finally the alliance that survived gets a special cutcenne marking all your failures and accomplishments and giving you achievements and orchestra singing to end credits.
If this is not possible CA please just give us total war in WW1, I would buy at least 2 copies of the game,it would be so coll.

yes, when the new version of FCN is released it will come with a fixed campaign

@@abrahamhuseynov9205 That's just a steam or ntw thing, just delete the files and reinstall it, then hopefully you can try again, pop by the FCN discord if you need any help!

yes, pretty much exclusively multiplayer since the AI is horrendous

Great to see such mods still be done though for this game - getting back into Sharpe Books, Series, Napoloen movie coming and binging on period stuff and be nice to do this game again but with the best mods.
I know when I was a kid playing napoleon total war I thought we would have realistic 100k army battles by now and more detailed maps. Instead we have warhammer. What happened with the gaming industry?

Great stuff man. So I downloaded the mod and in multiplayer only like 10 games showed up and all in red. Wasn’t able to join any of them because it said I had a different version? Anyone have any ideas I overlooked? Maybe the discord is my best bet.

It’s a shame for Napoleon though. I want to play that game but since I upgraded to a 12th gen intel processor the game won’t start. Seems to be a known bug and still hasn’t been fixed since Napoleon is an older game.

The new version of FCN is bringing a campaign that unlocks every single faction in the game, including emergent factions (Like Poland and Hannover etc)
Its currently still in beta but if you join the discord and ping me I can send you the files (although some unit cards may be a bit glitchy)

They are in our discord, however the Singleplayer campaign has been lost to time, and the Divisions is currently outdated, as I am pending the next update :)
Just been playing it tonight and the gun sounds are a little off and out of sync simetimes they wil make a noise and sometimes they didn't. Did you experience this?

Probably Darthmod mate, but these days on Empire at least I found Imperial Destroyer to be the most fun and stable

I downloaded the 5.0 version, I'm learning that if it doesn't have its own separate launcher... it clashes with other mods and doesn't seem to work. I did get it downloaded but the map names disappear and most of the names of the nations disappear as well, and the how to install video was simple. Even with the simplicity of the download videos it still somehow didn't work. Any recommendations? I have darthmod, NTW3, and The Great War all downloaded, perhaps that's the problem?

It's too bad that those of us with newer computers with gen 12 or higher can't enjoy this due to Sega refusing to update Napoleon. They update everything other game even Empire, but for some reason they hate Napoleon
