- On 30 March 2005, Prince Charles was overheard making angry comments about the BBC's royal correspondent, Nicholas Witchell. The Prince of Wales made the comments during a press conference with his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, at Klosters Ski Resort in Switzerland, just eight days before Charles' wedding to Camilla Parker-Bowles. The Prince of Wales took offence at Witchell's decision to ask Harry and William how they felt about the wedding, and his muttered disapproval was picked up by ITN's microphone. Charles was not the only one to express frustration during the interview. Prince William showed little interest in answering questions about his relationship with Kate Middleton, while Prince Harry was at one point heard sarcastically stating: "This is so much fun!"

You can really see what a loving and caring father he is to his sons. It really is an intrusion on their lives. They are gracious enough to take time out of their holiday to answer stupid, intrusive questions. Don’t blame Charles for being a little irritated.

My father fought me when I was 15/16 to toughen me up, I used to beat my brother in any fight, All part of growing up, unless you are Ex Prince Harry. Gosh. So awkward watching this. A family on holiday but because of who they are they have to do an interview that is based on their personal life and not about their roles as royals. Must be awful. I’d hate to be born into that kind of life. Yes they have money and have had some great privilege but I wouldn’t swap my life for the duty they have to perform every single day

Like all kids they may have had dreams of what they wanted to be when grown up but at some point would have been told no. What Charles is doing now in his 70s was decided by old people long dead born in a different world when he was an infant.
They can't abdicate as they would have no idea how to take care of themselves and more than likely the press and royalists would turn on them labeling them traitors.

The fact that "At least William doesn't complain" is a common comment just shows they must repress all.

The first thing I noticed was that when they were all seated, Charles immediately put his arms around William and Harry’s shoulders. He continued by, at times, pulling them closer to him, and, at times, squeezing their shoulders. His first priority was obviously to protect his boys, to make sure they felt protected, and to make sure the paparazzi saw that he was protecting them. *Something Harry should go back and take a look at
Yes I wish Harry was more grateful to Charles. Charles was a much better father than his own who was a bully. Charles was always kind to his sons. Harry should count himself lucky Charles was his father and not Philip!

This was a sensitive, tense and very emotional time for both sons and you can feel the undercurrent of it. They actually did well at playing "happy families" or William did, anyhow. Harry seems like he's disassociated himself as a coping mechanism.
Charles seems uncomfortable and resentful because he probably just wanted to have a relaxed last holiday with his boys before his 2nd wedding. He seems nervous concerning what the boys might say as well. Talk about being under a microscope. This is the minus side of being an active Royal. I hope the rest of the holiday was intrusion-free and enjoyable after this.
I think what was going on, was this was when the story broke about Kate and William's relationship. William was actually really mad that it was in the news. Which you could tell, he completely side stepped any conversations about Kate. And talked about wanting to go on to the slopes.
Don’t know where you got your degree from, but they were not at all disassociated. It’s actually the conversations they’re having quietly that determines how strong their bond was not that they were annoyed with the media
William and Harry asked Charles not to marry Camilla, but of course, they were not going to say that in public at the time. William wasn't going to talk about his relationship with Kate either. How sad that they are not as close as they seemingly were anymore

I don't blame Charles one bit for being cross, the stupid questions they were asked, and the press were obviously digging for a juicy story about the boys not being pleased about Charles marrying Camilla. It’s not a gaffe. 🙄 The press aided in the death of the mother of his children. They’re absolutely allowed to hate the press and have no understanding of the public’s interest in their private lives. Everyone likes to talk about how privileged they are, but if you had to give up the right to just be your own person and a real human being with privacy, in exchange for a big house and nice things that you yourself often don’t even get to choose, all while living under constant scrutiny, you might prefer your current life.
Normal celebrities get to have all that, while turning their mistakes into their “branding”. Royals are not normal celebrities. They don’t get to deviate from the character they’re born to play every waking moment. They don’t even get to be people.
Let’s get this right the paparazzi did not kill Diana. It was Prince Philip who had her too. My fiver am I six Charles was not a good dad until after they lost her mom and he had to be mom and dad, according to what I’ve seen over the years and I’m glad he’s changed toward his sons.

I disagree. Charles, like most royal and aristocratic men, didn't have a role in raising infants. The boys had nannies from day one. Diana wasn't their primary caregiver either.
Charles made a point to be home for bath and bedtime.
As the boys got older and could participate in the royal family activities, Charles was very much involved.
The big difference between Diana and Charles is that Diana took the boys to public places where they were photographed by the paparazzi. Charles usually took the boys to private family properties like Balmoral and away from the paparazzi. Diana said Charles was a good father.

Diana died as a result of a tragic car accident. The accident was thoroughly investigated multiple times. First by the French and there was a British inquest in 2008. All possibilities of an assassination were explored and dismissed. All investigations concluded Henri Paul caused the accident.
Henri and Dodi planned the departure from the Ritz hotel. No one else knew when they were leaving and the route they were taking. It would have been impossible to know if and when they would be in the tunnel.
I believe a series of poor decisions contributed to the accident.
The original plan was to spend the night at the Ritz. They could stayed at the Ritz and avoided the accident.
Sneaking out the back door and speeding away prompted the paparazzi to chase them. If they provided a brief photo session before leaving the paparazzi would have their photos and not have chased them.
Henri was speeding at 2 or 3 times the speed limit. There was a fiat uno car in the tunnel ahead of them and Henri swerved to avoid rear ending the fiat. He lost control of the Mercedes and struck the 13th pillar at high speed. Striking a solid unmovable object at high speed is deadly. At a lower speed he may have stayed in control of the Mercedes. At a lower speed the crash would not have been as deadly. If Diana wore her seatbelt she might have survived. If Diana had not turned down the protection services offered by the royal family they would have had a professional chauffeur instead of the intoxicated employee from the Ritz.
If Diana didn't impulsively start a fling with Dodi she would not have been at the Ritz hotel. Hasnat Kahn ended their relationship in mid-July 1997. Diana spent less than a week with her sons in the south of France before becoming involved with Dodi about 6 weeks before the accident. Diana could have spent more time with William and Harry. If she didn't decide to go with Dodi she would have avoided the accident.

Dodi's father kept claiming that the royal family killed them. He was a grieving father and didn't want to believe Henri Paul, his employee, caused the accident. He was also angry at prince Philip because he applied for British citizenship and had been turned down. The story that Diana was pregnant is hogwash. Hasnat said Diana used birth control pills. Diana and Dodi were only together for around 40 days, less than 6 weeks. The story that the royal family didn't want Diana to marry a Muslim is hogwash. Diana wanted to marry Hasnat Kahn and he is a Muslim. Diana was considering converting to Islam to marry Hasnat.
Even in his annoyance, HRH Prince William is still accomodating.

Actually, at least in this video, William seems to be the more cheeky and feisty of the two brothers. Harry mostly just smiles or laughs questions off, but not condescendingly.

Wasn't much of an interview. Prince Charles definitely appeared out of sorts. Looks like he wasn't in the mood 4an interview.....would have been better if he had declined the interview rather than carry on like that. He's usually more courteous and composed.
Every time they went on holiday the 'agreement' was one photo session and then they would be left alone to enjoy their break. Obviously this particular session was in 2005 😅 before Charles married Camilla and there was no need to ask such impolite questions. Like all famous people there are journalists they like and journalists they dislike - and if my memory serves me correct the journalist Charles 'detested' was Nicholas Witchell who worked for the BBC. No surprises there! Charles was a loving and very protective father to his sons who were 23 and 20 at the time.

Sometimes the Public forgets that they are just human beings too like all of us who wants to do normal things when they have opportunity to do so and we have to respect that unless they chooses to extend their hands to us during their time out. It must be really difficult to put a show to the media to cover their own thoughts and feelings just to say what we want to hear. As his father, grandfather and great-grandfather always had a good head of hair but his mother's father, grandfather and great-grandfather did not we must therefore assume that (as balding is hereditary) it came from the Spencer genes.

Rubbish! He was referring to the BBC reporter Nicholas Witchell who was English. He might have become BBC's Ireland Correspondent during the 1970s as he climbed the career ladder but soon returned to London and became a royal and diplomatic reporter in 1998. He was disliked by the Royal Family due to his obituary report on Princess Margaret in 2002 when he mentioned her lovers (she was single) and her love of 'copious amounts of whisky' which was totally unnecessary and cruel; and was recorded before her death.
Do nothing but desire power sit upon his father.
