  • On September 11, 2001, 22 citizens of Prince William County were killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The Office of Historic Preservation serves as the caretaker of the County's World Trade Center steel, an important component of the 9/11 Memorial in Prince William County. Join Historic Preservationist, Bill Backus, to learn more about Prince William County's World Trade Center Steel and how we are working to preserve this memorial so that it remains intact for generations to come. The names of Prince William County residents who lost their lives that day are etched into the Liberty Memorial located near the World Trade Center Steel at the Prince William County Government Center.
The Office of Historic Preservation is a division of Prince William County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism.
