I too felt that the Bass Clarinet choice was especially inspired. And I'm not just saying that because I started playing it when I was in my early teens... and now I'm a trillion years ago... just beautiful and very much aligned with the spirit of the music and the mountains.
Not only is he a clarinetist, he's also a french horn player, a triangle player, a timpani player, a cymbal player and an editing expert. That's what I call a legend.
Also, was he the one operating the sheep puppets? Or they're a costume and he had to wear that. Either way, one of the underappreciated classical legends of the internet. If he and twoset could collaborate he wouldn't have to play the string parts anymore!
All celli should be jealous of how magnificent the introduction sounds on bass clarinet. :-) I continue to enjoy visiting your recordings with and without friends. Thanks for making them. They help me keep going at work and inspire me to keep practicing.

Hi Nicolas - fantastic, fun and fabulous ! this video could be entitled - "how to get 3 young boys from the ages of 7 - 14 to listen to a piece of classical music from begining to end". I know because my 3 boys loved it. Such an inspiration !
you were fortunate to find lovely Swiss milkmaids who could also play lovely oboe, cor anglais and flute and piccolo. Bravo/brava to all, this is truly virtuosic and very inspiring.
The overture is perfect with winds and percussion. Then we have plenty of Easter eggs: the lederhosen, the muppets, the need practice shirt with the contra, the Roland Garros shirt to remember us of France, William Tell at the triangle, Tirol scenery, the arrow and the apple - no teddy bears were injured... It's an awesome video!
@@nicolasbaldeyrou1 I got braces when I was 12 and my orthodontist insisted I give up the clarinet. I got ok with oboe, but never as good in tone as I did with the clarinet.

A few things to comment on. First, not only are the musical transcriptions and transpositions of this well known overture spot on, the whole ensemble playing is so captivating and mesmerizing that in many respects it outdoes the original Rossini composition. This is probably because the reduced instrumentation allows for increased clarity of much of the faster passages. I too am a musician (piano and bassoon) as well as an audio and video engineer...I know how difficult it would be to put together a project such as this, especially coordinating participation from your "cloned" musicians. Bravo! to one and all! I also must say that what I found particularly entertaining was the inserted, pleasantly humorous but not over the top animation...especially the Mo Town Sheep swaying to the music in the 3rd movement with flute and Cor Anglais. The costumes and background scenery are also nicely done. Once again, congratulations! to one and all. I will look forward to more productions from you folks.
Here we are, me and my children, enjoying this fantastic concert!!! They've been waiting (and asking almost everyday) for this, especially my little clarinetist. Merci beaucoup!
Aside from the astonishing level of sheer musical marvellousness, that leaves this amateur horn player agog its M Baldeyrou’s lovely po faced focussed triangle player that takes the plaudits for me.
Brilliant! Bravo! Standing ovation! Show stopper! When I was in music school, I would have loved to attend recital where Mo-Town-Sheep dance in the background. Bass clarinet is delegated to background in wind music so much it is amazing to hear a bass clarinet choir!

Wonderful!!! Very nice!!! Congratulations.
Thank you Ronald !
Como é incrível a sua interpretação no clarineta baixo! Estou acabando a graduação mas estou longe ser como você rsrs. Parabéns pelo trabalho!
Muito obrigado ! 🙏🙏🙏😊✨
Recently been recording a lot of my sax quartet stuff for clarinets. Unfortunately when I tried to record bass clar I found half the keys were stuck and a few pads fell out!!! Must admit I played them on Bb clar and octavated them down with software. May even upload them (if I ever figure out how!)
VAYA que bueno ...es fantastico la verdad es lo mejor que he visto una maravilla de música y montaje.
Thank you Manuel 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😊🔥
Bravo, Nicolas, you are amazing as usual! As well as all your friends!
