    I am in strong recovery from OCD but am in an attack ... slowly and painfully ignoring the compulsion to go over and over this one action. To hear her say that my brain is on a 'negative thought loop' helped me to understand the onslaught of negative thoughts and stories. Sometimes one lifeline will let me walk away from the OCD. I've found this to be true in my life and appreciate this meditation very much.

      Glad you found it helpful! The more you listen (outside of anxiety and OCD attacks), the more you train your brain not to be afraid of the uncertainty and the less anxiety you'll have.

I'm so relieved to know that there are people like this out there too. I'm not the only one. I'm blessed to have found this channel and I'm going to take on this mental health issue seriously. This is very hard. My therapist has been telling me all these things for 3 years and it doesn't make sense to me or maybe I just don't see it. Your videos are so helpful! I have cheating OCD and I’ve been having trouble with the back door spike - if I don’t feel upset by the thought then I have to explain to myself why it’s okay not to feel upset by it or else I end up very anxious and start doing my more physical compulsions (reassurance seeking and confessing). Once I do explain it to myself I end up ruminating. Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with this?

    I feel lost... but I don't want to take away that discomfort with brooding. But I wonder: if we indulged so much (and I'm also talking about behavioral addictions, such as pornography or eating to relieve discomfort), does that mean we were in survival mode? So we savor that discomfort, even if we feel lost (because we no longer control our thoughts and we no longer remove the sensations)... But I hope that feeling lost doesn't mean that we really could have done better. I know that as you told me Danielle, the way is to accept ourselves as we are and accept imperfection and uncertainty, but wow how much pain and suffering we have accumulated on ourselves. I don't know how I survived for so many years like this, I hope I was strong. Even though sometimes I feel so stupid and wrong and useless... Has it happened to you too, Danielle, to feel this way along the way?
    Thank you very much, I think this is the best meditation I have ever listened to on obsessive compulsive disorder!!

      @MyOCDCoach  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Learning how to deal with your feelings take time and practice. We need to allow and accept it, but not give it attention (unless there is a good reason to, like a loss or real-life situation that needs to be addressed. Working with a Specialist like myself or someone else can help you determine what needs to be addressed and what needs to be left alone.
