    About Young Sheldon:
It’s 1989 and 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school along with his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

I have never seen a complete episode of Young Sheldon, but I have been watching a ton of the TH-cam video clips, and taking into account all of the different one-on-one moments that George has had with each of his kids, I realized he is a much deeper character from how I first perceived him. For those of us who watched the Big Bang Theory where George Sr was often described as a drunk & a bad husband/father well I think that's a plot contradiction that Young Sheldon is not going to be able to reconcile no matter how they write future episodes. He is really the most taken for granted, underrated, disregarded, disrespected character in this show & I think it plays out that he's a little bitter & very disappointed w/ how his life has turned out... poor guy!

You clearly don’t understand how Sheldon’s mind works he has a photographic memory as he’s autistic throughout the Big Bang theory Sheldon grows more understanding thanks to Amy and his close group of friends before his George Sr passed away Sheldon found his Dad with another woman which left a bad memory of his father in his mind for most of his young life Sheldon then moved away however once Sheldon had fully grown as a person he once again remembers his father in a positive way because he sees the video of George at his best leading his team even though they were losing and once again gives Sheldon the guidance to pick himself up again after his theory was proved wrong and at his wedding finally says he misses his Dad that’s my interpretation

George got a great opportunity for a new job, Mary refused to support him despite how hard he’d worked and how far he’d gone and was willing to go for all of them to improve their lives and she said during their thanksgiving dinner that she was making the decision for all of them?!
It could have been a great opportunity, I mean, I can understand and relate to Sheldon’s feelings and fear about change, (I’ve moved several times with my family and it’s always been a challenge but it’s worked) but think about how he achieved by far everything he hoped and aspired for, had their father not passed away, maybe Sheldon would have learned more from him about not to be afraid of change - though he moved away to California so he made progress slowly but still his whole life changed for the better.

Moving, especially moving so far away that your old house is not within reasonable driving distance, is usually not very good psychologically for kids. To be honest, they had everything they needed in Texas. They had their old friends, their old environment, their old church, their grandma who provided childcare and loved her grandkids. Having shinier toys in Oklahoma wasn't worth all they had to give up. I'm glad Mary saw that.

As a kid, I moved from house to house and town to town every few years. Eventually, my family moved out of state, and while it was hard at first, I learned to adapt. I made new friends, found new hobbies, and soon my home town stopped feeling like home. I think the Cooper kids would have survived just fine if the family moved to Oklahoma. Missy is emotionally intuitive and could easily make new friends, Georgie is resourceful enough to find jobs that suit him, and Sheldon would have found different opportunities to use his intelligence. I think Mary and Connie were just being immature and selfish. It can surprise you how much better and happier you feel with a change of scenery and more money in your pocket to spend on your family.

Then you'll get the reputation of being a deadbeat father who abandoned his children for selfish reasons. You can be mad at your spouse if you want to, but your children need you.
They are kids: they may not like moving at first but they'll adapt.

I'm a woman and I say take the job. And your wife can either deal with it or divorce. But if you do divorce, make sure you get the kids if she's crazy like Mary.
