Im pretty sure that is because of mercenaries, and also if you play a TON of amalgams cards , one amalgam band will exceed the amount of regular tribes because it can also use those “elf” and “human” tribes even if they aren’t in HS regularly.
Well of course he won’t put Ogre tribe on the list because if he did it would easily be better then pirates Just think of the value!! 6/7 in stats for 6 mana???
No matter what, I will always have a soft spot for elementals due to Frostlich Jaina and how cool of a hero card she was for making elementals have lifesteal, even for their battlecry / effect, hell, I can still remember running Blazecallers for that alongside for the easy from hand damage (especially with brann), but then again it was 2018-2019.
Something about Totems that makes them so good is that they are /focused/ as hell. It's what makes them so good whenever they are good. The game plan is always early game value into easy swarm potential to bonk face, and that's a pretty damn good plan.
Yeah plus like I was saying since they're tied exclusively to one deck their power level basically is just whatever that deck is, and even shaman is historically one of the best decks ever
The coolest thing about Quilboars was that during FoL meta in standard you could very easily discover One Amalgam Band with the 2/3 Amalgam. You had it target Razorfrn Rocker and since there was so few Quilboars in the game the odds of discovering it was like 60%. Was pretty useful for Menagerie Warrior.
19:09 - As for "Good defensive pirates". There is at least one thats extremely significant - Risky Skipper. That's a card that almost singlehandedly made an archetype work and only speaks to the influence of Pirates
Skipper is a combo card, the armor isn't used in a defensive contest primarily like if you were a control deck just trying to heal. Skipper uses it for combo decks like odyn, gauntlet, mechathun, frothing berserker, and Skipper core is menagerie so it provides draw for warrior as well.
@@FlareIsGone Well, I was more so thinking about the time in came out in Galakrond's Awakening, it pretty much put Control Warrior back on the menu back then in Standard and it was its main tool to defend against aggro
Both were still playable, dragons had the edge in some matchups but pirates were still much more explosive and better in others it really was more just flavor. But then zarimi got nerfed and became unplayable so it doesn't matter
In classic hearthstone: - Dragons have a glaring flaw that they are expensive to nuts (they were usually 8-10 mana and the only cheap dragon at the time is the elusive Faerie Dragon. Azure Drake was used for other purposes.). Blackrock mountain later mitigated this problem by adding cheaper dragons but it wasn't enough until Decent of Dragons kicked in. Deathwing Dragonlord may be a good Dragon support but it doesn't help that its still expensive. - Flame tongue, Taunt and Healing totem were the only good ones. The rest of them were bad (except the 1/1 totem which is from the hero power, that one is basically silver hand recruit) - Beast were based as hell. There were Beast Hunter players like myself who runs with them. Though later card Dinomancy is only usable in a Beast Hunter deck because it's useless in other decks. Beast Druid became a thing when that 10 mana 12/12 beast came into the picture - Murlocs were a surprisingly a good aggro deck but they have to win the game by turn 5-7 because that's where the opponent can start to properly board clear.
I feel like Shaman's hero power should just summon either one specific one or be able to choose from one of three to summon And Beast Hunter gets kind of exhausting seeing stuff printed for it
Favorite card ever printed: Merloc Tinyfin. I played Murlock in standard while Sunken City was in standard, and I could not tell you how many times the little guy won me games
Me too! I just totally loved decks like murloc paladin with scalelord and made any possible versions of Murlock warlock ❤ And with all possible buffs my Tinyfin was 12/12.. And battleground board was quite common view 😊 The magic moment of total power when you won against aggro druid on turn 3-4 cause you dredged Gigafin off a bottom 😂🤣 Or my fav one buff your ALL deck for +2/+2 with Brann + scavenger combo 💪🤯
14:14 "Missed our beeeeeeeees!!!" Also reminder that old gods also are a tribe, you can search them up in the card library and they will all show up. Very random factoid, i know, but can help memesters who want to quickly build an "all old gods" deck 😂.
Also worth saying that Elemental Mage is what I’d call a Tier 5 deck in Wild (terrible, but better than most other random stacks of cheap cards). It’s an Aggro deck dedicated entirely to cost reducing on cheap Elementals, drawing more cheap Elementals, and some spell generation off those Elementals. It’s probably good enough for Standard, but this is a Wild deck, running that one Mage common from Rastakhan’s Rumble unironically.
I feel like Elementals would be better if they synergised off of you casting spells of corresponding elements (fire elementals synergising off of fire spells)
I have a very soft spot for Mechs because once getting introduced to the game, the newest expansion was sunken city and my first real deck. There is an a bunch of random junk. What is Mach mage and I fell in love with this tribe ever since. ❤ let’s hope Mech warrior becomes a good deck, and not just be a basically an package for Highlander warrior… but I do support mining rogue with the use of Mechs🎉
There is still a lot of cool tribes they could add to Hearthstone. For example i would like to see vulpera be added, tho that would probably be rogue specific. It would also be a cool way to give rogue a new, borad based archetype.
I have an good Idea for a "PowerPoint on" video, is about deniers(i dont know another good name for this), cards like, dirty rat, the old savory deviate, patchwork, mutanus, kurtrus, teothar, tho'grun and i think there is others 🤔i think is an great Topic, you know, cards that are "not Fun" or "not healthy" as people would consider(Sorry for the bad english is not my main language) and thanks for another great Power point video 🥰
I would add a plant tribe and change some old cards like vorax for example. They could make an expansion similar to un goro but add plants that could shuffle poison into your deck or something like that. Also gotta say love this PowerPoint content 😂and my favorite cards gotta be shuderwalk!
Sherazin Corpse flower is easily my favorite card. I used to play a deck back during ungoro that would focus on getting as many copies of him out as possible and whacking my opponent to death with a bunch of sherazins
C'thun (the original) is my favourite card. Which makes me a bit sad there isn't a faceless or Old gods tribe in game that would allow him to shine as the years continue.
Elementals would work a lot better in smth like Shadowverse where there are spells that have the tribes normally assigned for minions (like how their equivalent of Mech decks have supporting spells that has their Mech tribe on them) this allows for easier chaining of elementals as you can spend a turn only playing a spell but still reaps the benefit of elemental chain next turn bcos casting the spells counts for as if you've played an Elemental unfortunately it would not make sense with Hearthstone's flavour theming as HS has spell schools as the spell's equivalent to tribes
i'd have swapped elementals and undead. Undead have quite strong dk cards as you said, but elementals dont really tend to be played for their tag, lol. Walking mountain and neptulon alone make them better but they could be vanilla and still be played- well, without the storm horse scam, i guess.
Elementals are thematically my favorite tribe, because I like weird colorful shiny things. That said, I have no idea what Blizzard is trying to do with them. like Elemental Shaman in badlands: they give it good but not great tempo payoffs with Prairie and Cruiser, but they didn't give it any decent form of card draw, so if you want to keep the chain to scale up your skarr you'll need to sacrifice tempo. And if that's not enough, most elementals in standard available to shaman are just bad, there's only 1 decent 3 and 5 drop, so you need to build your deck full of bad minions just to get 2 decent tempo payoffs and 1 legendary payoff that doesn't even make sense in that deck, but you'll have to run it cause you have no other way of killing your opponent.
I really like minion type related strategies but whenever I play mechs I feel like a little kid playing with his toys. ( mechs are in my top 3 favorite tribes/minion types)
@@FlareIsGone They made Naga for Voyage to the Sunken City and Undead for March of the Lich King, like Elementals for Journey to Un'Goro and Mech for Goblins vs Gnomes.
There are hidden tribes, like "elf", "human", "orc", "ogre". Whenever you type these words, it will show all amalgam cards
Yeah but they don't have actual text not synergize with each other. At least Quilboars benefit from tribal buffs and say quilboar
If only Goldshire Footman would be considered as human
Im pretty sure that is because of mercenaries, and also if you play a TON of amalgams cards , one amalgam band will exceed the amount of regular tribes because it can also use those “elf” and “human” tribes even if they aren’t in HS regularly.
Well of course he won’t put Ogre tribe on the list because if he did it would easily be better then pirates
Just think of the value!! 6/7 in stats for 6 mana???
It's weird, but the same thing happens if you type in Treant, but amalgams aren't Treants in game. So they're wrong on one side or the other.

18:35 "So... pirates arr"
Why i was thinking you gonna put in first place "all" tribe XD
Tbf the Amalgams don't actually have much going for them except for the newer ones
Totems forever! - even shaman bots
Repeat after me
Zarimi was so strong that, before the nerf, it singlehandedly made people ditch the pirate package for shadow priest in favor of dragons
Both were still playable, dragons had the edge in some matchups but pirates were still much more explosive and better in others it really was more just flavor. But then zarimi got nerfed and became unplayable so it doesn't matter
Totems should be number one.
Kalimos +shudderblock for 18 face dmg to the enemy is pretty nice.

I feel like quillboars have some real potentional as seen in Battlegrounds.
They could definitely be a good tribe if blizzard wanted them to be. But they like pirates and Murloc way more.
Did not get a new favorite card since original whizbang. Single handely brought me back to hs at the time.
Day #8 of Glazing Shadow Reaper Anduin

Elementals suck, they have the hardest condition of any tribe which makes them even worse AND they don't ever print good elementals
I know it is not that great right now but totems are really good and i would love to see more totem support this year.
I really like minion type related strategies but whenever I play mechs I feel like a little kid playing with his toys. ( mechs are in my top 3 favorite tribes/minion types)
"IM IN CHAAAARGE NOOOWWWW" - elementals, never : (
Quillboar is the best tribe because they have amazing synergy with
Misha’s always been my favorite and i’m not even sure why
Call it recency bias, but sock puppet slither spear might be better than treasure distributor. Then again, It doesn't summon a 2 attack patches.
Dh sucks ass so it can't be a good card
Shudderwock is the best card. I want to see battlecries as their own tribe.
Hoping to earn a lot of nerf dust from pirates next expansion
good vid
