What a great set of top notch photos. I really love them and their, or rather your, stories. They make these beautiful shots even more compelling. Thank you for sharing them with us. My fav is Jackson Hole. The one without the Elk. It’s simply magic. Kudos.
Thank you so much Dave for such an amazing, touching, and inspiring video. You make me love and appreciate photography more, every time I watch your channel. 🫶
Hello Dave, your photos are superb and sum up a great year of projects. My two favorite photos are the Vertical lines and Film stitch and their colorimetry is really subtle.
No influencers here. I just printed a couple of the shots from that evening, including a pretty similar shot to yours. On the Mamiya when I was teetering on that ledge. I’m stoked you snagged a shot that made it onto your best of list for the year from that outing. Very fun time indeed! And that Elk shot was rad.
Thanks for another great video! You mention using a leica m11 as a digital backup when shooting film. That could be an interesting video to hear that work flow. I have brought out a film and digital together and I often feel like I do better when I force myself to only have one or the other but would love to hear your perspective!
Dave, I so appreciate this video. Yes the images are interesting. But what I have not seen before is someone explaining their favorite images. What is the story behind them? This is what I tell our patrons when they scan their old photos..those photos are much more impactful if they are combined with the story behind the image. Thanks for making this approach real! And wonderful images!
notice the fast shutter speeds on many of the photos, to the point that the ISO has to be bumped up to keep up. can you speak on this. is this due to the lack of stabilization, and high MP count? I'm new to the system, and even knowing the pics won't be as sharp as my Z8, thinking there is something I should be doing better
Yep. That’s basically it. The skate park was as fast I could get it to have still shots with action. I try never to go less than 2x the focal length. I prefer a sharp and grainy photo (high ISO) than a blurry and clean one.

Really beautiful landscape images. That’s all I wanted to say. I wish I had half your talent!

@@davidherring Awesome! I must have missed that one. Watching right now!

Thank you! A photo without a story is a mystery. I tried to bring clarity as to why I chose these.
Great images Dave, thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing the images for 2025 but I think you have set the bar very high for yourself :-)
Thank you so much! Excited to see what 2025 will bring.
Great photos !! Thanks for something besides the camera products …
Very nice presentation .
Thank you!
Dave should i buy the leica M11?
I fell in love with the Fuji x100vi but am itching to change lenses and go all in
Thoughts?
Great video!
If you want the rangefinder experience, then absolutely. Hit me up on IG with any questions!
I love all 10 TBH but there are 2 which stand out to me & can't decide between them Fonts Point & Wild Goose.
Fonts Point is the one for me between the two, only because it hasn't been done 10000 times.
I would like to know what you think of kodak gold 35mm & 120
Love it. Use it all the time.
Any follow-up thoughts to the M11 magenta issue? Have you been able to successfully edit it out (with a preset) of your photos?
Yeah my presets mostly negate this. I have found that an adjustment by about -10 typically fixes it.
@@davidherring -10 away from what it comes in at (for me it's usually 25ish, so down to 15?) or straight up -10?
@@ab185 sorry, from whatever it comes in at. Typically for me it's around +20, and I take it to +10.

I was actually in Colorado a couple of times, but just Denver & Fort Collins. Didn’t get to explore much!
@ let me know when you are in next! I’ll take you up
I just watched your video why you chose the M10-R over the M11. I am confused to say the least.
Ended up going with the M11 later down the road.
An amazing story about the last man standing.
I can’t wait to share more as I roll this project out.
we named her Winnie and she is absolutely insane ☠️
It’s our reality.
