I know I'm a visual learner and after getting my YN560-TX and twin YN560 IV to start using I was dreading going through reading manuals for the transmitter and flash units on how to do anything with their setup and sync. This video got me up and running in minutes and I thank you greatly for that! I've got them both synced to to the transmitter and each in their own group for individual configuration. Great video!

Just bought two Yongnuo 560III's with the TX myself so I can have an affordable Off-camera lighting setup. It is a fantastic option for photographers trying to avoid burning a hole in their pocket. This guide was extremely helpful and thorough. thank you very much!

Alberto Santos at $100aud ea, even if one breaks down after a year or so, its worth it. I have 3 also. had a 568ii fail after 12 months though, so I hope these do last a little longer.

Nice! Yeah they are super affordable. How are yours on battery life? I did a 3 hour shoot the other day, and noticed that one of them burned out half way through my shoot with fresh batteries. It was really hot outside though (about 90 degrees), so maybe the heat is a big factor in that?

Can't see what's so complicated. Really straight forward and clearly explained video on how to use these. Grouping always sounds difficult but once you've done it a couple of times, it's easy peezy. I'll be looking out for a set.

For those of you that have 560 III and don't see a group icon on your flash. DO THIS:
    * Make sure both the TX and your strobe are turned on. (I would do each strobe one at a time if you have more than one)
    * Now on the TX, press the Zoom/CH and Hz/FN buttons simultaneously.
    * The 560III strobes screen should show a scrambled screen as shown in the instructions. Press the OK (center button on the multi-selector) on the strobe.
    * On the strobe you should now see a new Gr [ ] box under the Ch [ ] box showing the strobe assigned to group A.
    * To change the Group on the strobe, press the MODE and Flash/wireless buttons simultaneously (the two buttons with GRP between them.
    * Use the up/down multi-select buttons to cycle through the groups.

Bought a yongnuo yn560 III from you guys last week, it arrived today, along with the TX controller, it works like a dream; i have kaavie triggers which are terrible, they misfire so much, go out of range within mere feet, so practically useless in realworld shooting, but already this unit has impressed me, and until my rf603's arrive, i will be triggering my other yongnuo speedlight (yn460 II) optically, which also seems to work faultlessly.
Personally i think calling these "disposable" is an injustice, most speedlights are made in china anyway, so all these "concerns" about quality are not really valid.

What if you want to have an on camera flash as well? Do you have to have the controller on the hot shoe in order for it to work? This would be convenient if I could keep the controller in my pocket and change the settings, without having to have it on camera.

Good video, you should have mentioned that there is no group 'All' function which separates firing all flashes from individual groups. For example if you had 4 flashes on separate groups, to test the value of each flash individually without the others interfering, you would have to turn off all other three flashes rather than just being able to fire the flash in the selected group.

    • @DGM218

+Sasha Davis This video is aimed more toward the wireless remote control features of these lights. If you are using a single non-TTL yongnuo speedlight start with it in M mode and around 1/8 or 1/16 power. Take a couple test shots and go up or down from there.

Do you happen to know if I have 5 of these that I can set them up as follows:
Camera set for 20 second exposure for dark night sky shooting where I want to also capture the lights spaced away from me to light up areas while my long exposure is in progress:
Flash 1: mounted on my camera set to transmit and have the flash off so it does not emit any light, it just signals the others to fire when I fire my camera.
Flash 2: set up 10 feet away on receive mode that will have a 15 second delay and then fire.
Flash 3: set up 20 feet away with a 16 second delay
Flashes 4 & 5: Set up 30 feet away and both fire after 17 second delay.

Can you also adjust the flash power on the flash unit when using the YN560-TX controller, or can you only set the power at the camera on the controller? Sometimes I'm triggering remotely using a CamRanger while I'm standing by the flash unit, away from the camera which is on a tripod and I'd like to be able to adjust the power at the flash.

Great video tutorial, thanks! For anyone who might be able to help...
I'm trying to set up dual flash for macrophotography. I just purchased the YN 560-TX and corresponding YN 603 C II receivers for my EOS Rebel T1i.
I have two Canon 90EX Speedlite units. I can successfully trigger the flash to fire with this Yangnuo setup, BUT as I proceed to manually adjust the flash output on the 560-TX transmitter, the resulting flash output from the speedlite units did not change.
I tested and mounted my ring flash, MR-14EX on the YN 603 CII receiver to try, and again, I was not able to get the resulting flash output on the MR-14EX to change accordingly.
I'd really appreciate your expertise and feedback.
    Thanks. Kevin

Hi. Im new to flash photography. I have two questions:
    1. What is the difference of using "YN560 III 's and YN560-TX" kit with "YN560 IV 's and YN560-TX" kit. Is the later kit any better or can do any more things? I myself dont really see any difference between the two kits if using the same setup in this tutorial (all flashes are off-camera)
    2. YN560IV = YN560III + YN560-TX, correct? If so, what's the benefit of using the YN 560-TX instead of using YN560 IV as a YN-560TX ?
    Thanks

    • @VictorManuel-qp6fg
      @VictorManuel-qp6fg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Emily T In my opinion the difference between 560 and 560 iii IV are minimal. the 560IV has a transmitter also included, along with the receiver among other little things. So if you're working with a 560III flash in the hot shoe of your camera, you will have to work with a shutter speed below of 1/200 or 1/250 depending on the camera and you can not use another flash remotely unless you have this other flash set to slave mode triggered by light.
But if you have a 560 IV in your hot shoe you can work with other flashes using the radiotrasmisor in 560IV. Of course if radio frequencies are supported. then the 560IV synchronizes the manual settings you make in the other compatible flashes remotely. Remember that these flashes are manual and have only one pin on the hot shoe mount. The firing pin.
and taking into account work under 1/200 on your shutter speed.
This is why it does not matter if you use the TX with 560III or 560 IV.
      i hope this help you!

    • @negrellibruno86
      @negrellibruno86 7 ปีที่แล้ว

the gear i talk about in this post is:
      Nikon D300
      Nikon Speedlight SB 600
      YN 560 IV
*for this set up, you will NOT need the YN 560-TX.
first of all. kudos to YN for making lighting so affordable for photographers that don't have the big bucks.
now, in addition to what RM Photography posted, you have a couple of options:
1 - buy the RF 603 II for your Nikon flash (it cost a couple dollars more than the rf 603, but you can use the other receiver as a Shutter release if you don't have one)
2 - Since the YN flashes are not as good as the Nikon, when we are talking about recycle time as well as "taking breaks" because they over heat during a shooting, i like to use my SB 600 as my key light and the YN just for filling the shadows. so if you don't have a wireless trigger for your Nikon flash the option is to use your Commander mode from your camera (built in flash triggers your Nikon flash off camera) and setup the YN on Slave mode S2, that way your camera triggers all 3 at the same time BUT you can only control the Nikon flash through your camera, the YN have to be done manually. It works great! again, the only problem is that the YN need more time to recycle and don't do High Speed Sync.
if you want to save money, you have to think and work harder sometimes. LOL

Hi, I have YN560 IV speed light and YN560 TX controller, but i am having a small problem and I hope you could kindly help me. when I use the multi mode just on the YN560 IV it works, ie. 5x10 5 flashes in 10 hertz, but when I do the same from the YN560 TX in multi mode only one flash happens. I am using Channel 1 and Group A for both Manual and Multi. Can you help me to fix this problem please ?
