Thank you for the fast reply. I'm going to look for the setting. I just received my two flashes today. I bought them based on your reviews. I'm very new to photography. My wife and I are learning together. We even got matching his/her D7100, lol
That's fantastic! The D7100 should serve you both a fairly long way :) I bet it's going to be great fun for the both of you to learn photography together :)
Outstanding review. I like that you've taken such a methodical approach to explaining the feature sets. I purchased the Mark III models recently and have been enjoying them with the triggers, but this is fantastic news. They're so inexpensive, I might just buy 3 new Mark IV models and keep the IIIs for backups.
Awesome Review! thanks for the great breakdown! One thing, if I may suggest, to make your next video easier to watch would be to drop the "full name" after you already introduced the item, for example after saying once: "560 Mark Three" just say "Mark Three" to avoid a ton repetition. And thanks again for the review!
+ZY Productions is there a delay when pressing the shuttter release on the camera. I want to purchase 3 of these and i need tol know if there is a delay
Hello, 1. Are you able to trigger the YN 560IV with the EOS 70D's pop-up flash? 2. If YES to the above, are you able to adjust the flash power via the on-body menu?
I wasn't able to find any info on this: Is it possible to remotely trigger the external flash in multi mode? Another question: Would I be able to trigger the YN-560 IV with a YN-568ex II?
Is it possible if you can do a video of how to set up the IV with the camera straight? I find it pretty complicated as I've never used a speedlite before.
I watched the video. But from what i see, it appears as though the transmitter flash unit can only send out the same output to the reciever flash unit. I can't say, have transmitter on 1/2 output and have the reciever as say...1/8 output?
ATG & Yongnuo will be hurting Profoto B1, Phottix Indra500, Godox Witstros AD360, Qauntum Trio. Your video reviews is good that many are confused that they will need to watch it 6 times. Buy this flash is the best bang for buck over other flashes & still control settings by radio. ATG/Yongnuo are so good that B&H Photo is selling it. 10 flashes for only $700.00. or 5 flashes for only $350.00. Awesome baby power lighting control instead of just one light from those above mentioned.
Thank you for let me know all this details for the yn 560 series.I have build a system with yn560tx yn560iii and yn560iv that help me a lot with my photography. Keep up this good work......
I just saw a video, showing a problem with YN 560 IV,that when it set to triger to 105,flash fires only once,u cannot fire more than once ?is there a problem,I myself tried and found the same problem
I have two 560-IV flashes and I've set one to TX and the other RX with both on the same channel in the same group. I can't get the RX to flash. I've searched all over and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?
Can someone help me, I just got my YN560-TX along with a YN560-IV, and I am not able at all to have them talk to each other in anyway. are my units defective or what. I have put all the same channels tried diffrent channels and groups synced on both but nothing. any pointers?
ZY Productions I thought I deleted the comment when I remembered I put not so full battery. :) So I put new battery and its all good now It works now with the trigger and my canon 30d lol Now I gotta make it work with my A6000 =p Thanks
Question: Can you please explain what settings to use for both the Speedlite YN560 IV as well as the Canon t5i camera to get them to work when attached via the hotshoe? Problem: With the Speedlite attached to the Canon via the hotshoe and both items turned on I receive the the following message in the Canon Menu screen: "This menu cannot be displayed. Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off'. Thanks for any assistance you can give.
S Christensen The 560IV is a manual flash, not a TTL flash. Only compatible TTL flashes can be controlled through the in-camera UI. Hence you can access the flash settings directly from the rear panel of the flash.
hello, I had the 560IV and the 568exII as a kit, but the latter after years of honorable service since yesterday has decided to always and only shoot at full power! well what to say after 5 years to the whip there is that spring ... waiting to take the 685 I can not explain why with a trigger rf603 on 5dmk3 I can not flash the 560IV without external trigger! should have integrated it and also changing the channels (obviously equal between flash and trigger) nothing does not want to know! am I wrong?
Awesome review! I have a query. I own a YN-560 iii and a YN-603N (ii) trigger. Planning to buy a YN-560 iv. I want make a setup as 560 iv (As master) will trigger the 560 iii (As slave) WHERE 560 iv will be OFF-CAMERA communicated via YN-603N trigger with my camera. Is it all right or I am making a mistake? Thanks in advance.
The reason it will not reset the slave flash from hot-shoe signal is you may need to use lower or higher settings on the slave flash from time to time.. then you can re sync after the custom shot settings..
I currently own two YN-560 III and a YN-560 TX. Is it easy two incorporate the IV into this setup? Particularly, I'm curious to know if you can easily swap the TX for the IV as transmitter, so that if you want to alternate between having the IV on and off camera, you just switch between TX mode and receiver mode on the IV? Hi, i hope you can help me with this question. I have one yongnuo 560 iv unit and a 560TX transmitter, but i would like to sell my transmitter to instead buy another flash unit to trigger my off camera flash unit. Can i independantly fire my off unit while firing my on camera unit at a different output? I'm wondering because if i have my on camera unit set to the transmitter mode to adjust my off unit, how can i possibly be adjusting my camera unit at the same time? Is it possible? thanks, Patrick
well I have the 568 ex and 2 622c triggers tranceivers, and Im wanna buy the yn 560 IV to fire it as a slave flash, do I need to buy another 622c trigger transceiver to make it work?
I have one Yongnuo 560 IV flash on my camera as my master and a secondary 560 IV in a softbox. Is it possible to turn off the the onboard flash and only have the secondary flash go off? I've tried pretty much every combination of settings and I can make the slave and master fire, or only the master, but never just the slave! Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hey, great Video. But how can i change the flash time? YN says the 560IV has a flash time between 200-20000 but how can i change it? Thanks for your help!
As far as I have figured out on the net it could be just some kind of marker, to identify the Speedlites in a group. But that doesn't make much sense from a practical point of view. Another idea of mine is, that it could be some kind of a tiny delay in triggering , so that the flashes of one group don't fire up all at once (leaving the model with a more comfortable amount of light simultaneously).
I have a Yongnou 560 IV . Tried the slave mode with my 600d Canon. Using the Canon Built in Flash to trigger the Yongnuo off camera flash. Seems like When I try the off camera flash. Put the Yongnuo to the side of the subject. .. Increase the shutter speed to 120 ms of the camera, seems like the Shutter Takes a shot first and then the Yongnuo flash activates and flashes. Seems like there is delay on the flash. Picture is Dark like ther is no flash ? But the Flash Fires up. Does this happen also on the Wireless transmitters of Yongnuo like the RC603 C with the YOngnuo 560 IV ? Pls help.
I have the YN-560 III. I want to buy a flash that have TTL what will work as TX to the YN-560 III just like the YN-560 IV. Please me me choose. Thanks!
Is it compatible with Nikon D5200? Also what about YONGNUO YN560 TX and YN560 III. I want to use flash off camera, so can you please suggest me what should I buy which is not much expensive? Thanks in advance.
Can anyone tell me how ( if its possible) to get the battery life symbol onto the screen ive four 560iv and its a pain changing batteries that i may not have too thank you
Great review, I was wondering if you have any idea how the power save mode works as I noticed in the previous versions they still turn off after 60 mins , I was wondering if that is the same in this version or if you can set it so it does not turn Great review, I was wondering if you have any idea how the power save mode works as I noticed in the previous versions they still turn off after 60 mins , I was wondering if that is the same in this version or if you can set it so it does not turn off till the batteries run out.
Hey, good stuff. Not sure if anyone has told you though, you slipped up a bit. At 4:40 you mistakenly said to press the "Mode"+"Function" buttons in order to activate, when you should have said "Mode+"Activate" buttons. It had me confused for a second. When I actually did just that, there's a different function that it activates, and now I have to look that up because I've no idea of what it actually did. Just FYI. Otherwise, thanks for the video. D
This is going to be a very obvious question - please keep in mind I would be using this with the Fuji X series system. If I purchased three of the Y IV flashes - can I have one ON camera that will fire normally from the hot shoe as a bounce flash, but will also radio control 2 other flashes around a room?. This is for a wedding situation. Thanks!
So where in the menu does it control the actual flash head of the Mk IV? And how easy or quick is it to change settings/deactivate that flash or other groups? Can it easily be done on the fly in a quickly changing event like a wedding?
The actual flash of the Mk IV itself if controlled when the groups show "--". To deactivate other groups its fairly simple, but it is a few clicks away. It can be done on the fly but it will slow you down a little.
Hello, I am trying to trigger my YN-560IV using a RF-603C II and not having any luck- the strobes are in RX mode and the channel dipswitches match the screen, but no matter what I do, I cannot use my RF-603C II to trigger the YN-560IV- are these two not compatible???
They are supposed to be compatible. Try troubleshooting it with other RF603's or other 560 flashes. It could be broken as well, since YN products are known to fail at times.
Thanks for your review. I had a question about the III and IV AF-assist beam. Do these actually have an AF-assist beam? Is it a beam matrix as it is in the 468II for example or is it just a red led? How does it work on the hot shoe? Does it turn on when you half press the shutter (I'm guessing no since there is only one pin?)
The Yn560Iv have the auto focus red beam? I have 4 of Yn 560 III and I need something that have the red beam autofocus and can fire my yn560III. In low light I have a problem with my focus and that's why I need something with the red beam. Can u recomand me something that can help me? Thanks
ZY Productions Could you suggest something that does have AF beam, maybe not on the flash. I've heard some yongnuo flash trigger actaully does have AF red beam.
Great job! Super helpful. One question, Can you change the channels of the flashes remotely as well? I'd like to be able to modify the flash set up on the go, from let's say to remote flashes to three, or four. Is it possible from the master flash or do you need to physically walk to each to change the channel?
I have one 560 IV on top of my camera in TX mode, and another one remotely in RX mode. Sometimes I only want to use the flash on my camera to operate as a controller for the off-camera flash, without actually firing itself. What settings do I use to control the remote flash, but without the 560 IV on the camera flashing itself? Even though I put it in TX mode to control the remote flash, it always fires even when I don't want it to.
Hi, great review. I have a question for you. It is possible to use the Yongnuo 560IV on a Fujifilm X-E1 on TTL mode or this Flash does not have TTL mode? Thank you for your answer.
Hi, Possible to use the 560IV as a transmitter for my other 560IV but also at the same time have the same flash set up to receive a 'dummy' flash signal from my camera popflash? I basically use my popflash to trigger my other off camera flashes.
I tried to set up external flash.func.on canon70d for my youngnuo 560iv.,by mounting it on the camera shoe ,power on.I get a message on both funtion setting, that, menue cannot be displayed, incompatible flash or flahes power is turned off.please help.
Samuel Wijerama Your camera's menu cannot recognize the flash, but it will still work. If you put the YN-560III on the flash hotshoe and push the shutter button, the flash will still fire in sync with your camera shutter. But you have to set/adjust the output power manually on the back of the flash. you may read these articles yn560ivwith70d.blogspot.com/2015/08/yn560-iv-and-canon-70d.html
Samuel Wijerama sorry just realized yours is 560 IV.. however both are the same. the only different is 560IV can act as a master since it has radio transmitter. 560III only has radio receiver (slave only)
Great video mate!!! Very much appreciated!!! I wish to buy YN 560 IV within a couple of days but I have a question. I currently own a Nikon D7200 and my question is can I fire this flash in slave mode using my camera's in built flash as a commander? If yes, then would you please be kind enough to explain me how it's done or guide me to a link where I can find answer to my query? Keep the good work going!!! Thanks!!!
I don't understand one thing: If i use this flash, would i need another Yongnuo wireless popper or this flash already has a integrated radio receiver (So i would only need a Tx popper on the camera) ?
Would 2 of these be good for interior photography ? Also what shoe mount would work on the camera body to fire the flashes ? I have the SONY A77 Mark 2? Please help I'm new at this. Thank you
Will this work with the Canon T5i? I'm wondering if this one could be used off camera with the T5i without having to use the internal flash pop up to sync.
+Fernando González You need to buy a wireless trigger for this function. look for the Yongnuo RF605C. Buy one, and you can control your flash remotely without line-of-sight from camera. Get two of them with a trigger cable ($33.00 USd on EBay), and you should be able to trigger the camera wirelessly (non line-of-sight), as well as trigger the flash wirelessly. I say "should" because I haven't explored this yet, but I will be as I am buying this to work with my Canon T4i and YN 560 IV. If anyone has more information about this, please feel free to comment. Thanks! :)
Question: I purchased two of the IV's in October of 2016. I have used them maybe twice. I use a Pentax K-3. I tried to use both of these a couple of days ago and neither one would fire from my hot shoe. They fired pushing the pilot light but not my shutter. Any suggestions?
Great video thanks for the info. I am very new to photography and the price and quality sounds like it's just what I need and as a beginner I have a stupid question. I am also obsessed with vintage cameras. I think they are beautiful bricks of engineering art and wand to know if mounting TX or any flash on a cold shoe damages the units meaning the flash or transmitter by the contacts touching the metal shoe base? I was pleased to see in my last purchase I found the sync cord or is that the right name of the cord? So far I have a Minolta SR-T101 and a Yashica 635 that I love learning to use. I was planning on buying the 560 TX with a set of 560 IV flashes for my Canon rebel 300D (yes even my digital is ancient) and now that I found the sync cord whatchamacallit I was hoping to be able to use it with all my old cold shoe cameras now and future cameras.
Wow, you have a very nice collection mate! And using these new flashes on your vintage cameras will not damage them in any way. The standard hotshoes are well, standardized so they are all...standardized...to work. XD
If I am using the 560 IV as the master flash on my camera, and also using a slave flash, such as the 560 III, is it possible to keep the master flash from firing, and only having the slave flash fire? In other words, is it possible to use the 560 IV for only its TX function?
Has anyone experienced the issue with the 560 iii and 560 iv which is specifically the, "stuck at full power"? Any solution? does it have any effect with yhe type of battery one is using?
So I want to use one 560 IV as a slave in a softbox while using another 560 IV as master on my camera. Am I able to change the flash values so they are different from each other when i take a picture. E.g. the softbox flash is less intense as its closer to the subject while the on-camera flash is stronger because its further away. Am I able to turn off the camera flash If I just want to use the external flash? Great video by the way. Chock full of information. Thanks!
Good day Can i use my Yongnuo 560 iv to trigger a Yongnuo 560 iii without the Yongnuo 560 iv flash light going off? I am deciding whether i should buy another Yongnuo 560 iii or a Yongnuo 560 tx.
I did try it ***** and it worked. But i haven't done it since last year so i cannot remember how because i bought the tx, mainly because i had extra money, not because i needed to. I think i found a video on TH-cam or an article on how to do it. I remember it was super easy.
Emile van Rensburg wow. awesome. hope I can get to find the video/article as well....I am in that sticky spot where I am debating whether to get the tx or get another 560iv :(
Thanks for sharing, very informative. I just got the YN 560 IV and noticed when I am on Tx mode and press the PILOT button, the flash doesn't fire. It fires on Other modes but not on Tx mode. Is that normal? I don't have other YN flashes yet.
Just to make sure, this review was about the 560 mark 4? :)
only suggestion is to stop repeating 560. we know it is all 560. mark 3, mark 4 and tx
😂😂

+ZY Productions is there a delay when pressing the shuttter release on the camera. I want to purchase 3 of these and i need tol know if there is a delay
Do you know if there a way to turn off the slave mode indicator light?
I don't think it'd be possible without a bit of hardware hacking, but you can try putting black tape over it, just be careful not to cover the sensor.
Well explained thank you!! Just bought the mark III. Don't need the features of mark IV atm :)
Hello,
1. Are you able to trigger the YN 560IV with the EOS 70D's pop-up flash?
2. If YES to the above, are you able to adjust the flash power via the on-body menu?
1. Yes, only via optical slave.
2. No.
What is the # after the Group for? You can set, for example, A1, A2 or A3. The number doesn't do anything. Why is that even on the flash??
Dude, this review is awesome, is so complete and very usefull. Thank you very much
I wasn't able to find any info on this:
Is it possible to remotely trigger the external flash in multi mode?
Another question:
Would I be able to trigger the YN-560 IV with a YN-568ex II?
Yes, the remote triggering works in multi mode.
Regarding the 568ex, it will only trigger it in optical slave mode.
Thank you!
ZY Productions w
a very clear and comprehensive review - well done

Life Kommando Is your 560 IV in Rx mode? 560Tx and 560IV should work out of the box. If it still doesn't work, you might have a defective unit.

i have a poblem plz help me why pilot red light colour change to blue light colour

Hi
I would like to buy and to use for to light from an other angle do I need an extra device for to make the connection with my dslr?
Hey, great Video.
But how can i change the flash time? YN says the 560IV has a flash time between 200-20000 but how can i change it?
Thanks for your help!
on YN flash's do any of them have HSS (high speed sync)?
Only the TTL ones.
Have you figured out, why in RX mode you can select "subgroups" with the right and left key, e.g. group A1-A3 or F1-F3?
I have not looked into that yet, I should give it a shot!
I have Polaroid extension tube without autofocus, will the flash work with it???
Pls help.
+Brian Smith i Think it will be work (RC603 C3 suport TTL function)

Thanks!
Yes, that will work.
It can be done on the fly but it will slow you down a little.
does it work as a slave flash with the pop up flash in nikon d7100 set as commander?
The yongnuo TX can deactivate groups as i saw on your other video. Can the mark 4 do the same?
Does the YN560IV have a built in receiver ? if so can it be triggered directly from a Trigmaster II transmitter ?
Ten-Diez Movement Yes it does, but no it cannot.
Is it true to say the higher the number, the better the flash in the Yongnuo range?
Thanks
Unfortunately the 560 IV still doesnt have the AF beam.
ZY Productions Could you suggest something that does have AF beam, maybe not on the flash. I've heard some yongnuo flash trigger actaully does have AF red beam.
Timmy111888 yn-622 have AF red beam
Grzegorz Wasylko Can you remotely control the 560IVs with a YN622?
Robbie Aleman
only with another yn622. The integrated wireless form yn560IV is not compatible with the yn622
May sound strange, but can the 560 IV on the camera act as a trigger to 602 or 603 with another flash on them? You said it works the other way around.
Ante Šušnjar Koko Yes.
Set the Group to -- and then press MODE until it displays as --.
@Rogers, this flash does not have TTL.
I basically use my popflash to trigger my other off camera flashes.
yes - commander mode on camera
560III only has radio receiver (slave only)
Have you ever tried Nissin Di600? Which would you recommend the most?
Great video mate!!! Very much appreciated!!! I wish to buy YN 560 IV within a couple of days but I have a question. I currently own a Nikon D7200 and my question is can I fire this flash in slave mode using my camera's in built flash as a commander? If yes, then would you please be kind enough to explain me how it's done or guide me to a link where I can find answer to my query? Keep the good work going!!! Thanks!!!
I don't understand one thing: If i use this flash, would i need another Yongnuo wireless popper or this flash already has a integrated radio receiver (So i would only need a Tx popper on the camera) ?
merasanam You'll only need a Tx trigger. The flash has the Rx built in.
Great video. Very informational and rich in knowledge.
I think you mentioned this but I can't find it. Can you use the 560iv as a trigger only. disabling the flash
Yes.
Would 2 of these be good for interior photography ? Also what shoe mount would work on the camera body to fire the flashes ? I have the SONY A77 Mark 2? Please help I'm new at this.
Thank you
How can I use the 550 IV to trigger the 550 III without the flash on the 550 IV going off?
+Cilene Bosch Turn it off on your camera - disable flash
Thanks! :)
+Laurent Blanchet thank you!
Question: I purchased two of the IV's in October of 2016. I have used them maybe twice. I use a Pentax K-3. I tried to use both of these a couple of days ago and neither one would fire from my hot shoe. They fired pushing the pilot light but not my shutter. Any suggestions?
karen boggs batteries?
very useful review .what is the max sync speed for this flash (of camera }
+Dhiraj Firodiya Max sync speed will depend on your camera's specifications, not the flash.
Hi, is it possible to trigger the mark IV from a canon 430 EX using slave mode? Are the two flashes compatible that way?
XD
Hey thanks for the fast reply looking forward to your next video.
If I am using the 560 IV as the master flash on my camera, and also using a slave flash, such as the 560 III, is it possible to keep the master flash from firing, and only having the slave flash fire? In other words, is it possible to use the 560 IV for only its TX function?
Yes.
Thank You!
One questions, if I trigger MKIII with MKIV's TX mode, will the MKIV itself flash? Or only radio signal being transmitted?
You can set it to fire along with the slaves or fire only the slaves without firing itself.
Thanks!
Never mind, four seconds after writing this comment the part of the video where you explain how to shoot at different values came up.
Hi! I have YN600ex rt II. Can I link it with YN560 wirelessly, so that 560 is slave?
my 560iv stuck at full power no mater various settings I applied..
how to fix it? thanks
Good day
Can i use my Yongnuo 560 iv to trigger a Yongnuo 560 iii without the Yongnuo 560 iv flash light going off? I am deciding whether i should buy another Yongnuo 560 iii or a Yongnuo 560 tx.
+Emile van Rensburg Yes, that is possible.
thanks. I had the same question...but how do you do that? what's the process like to achieve that?
I did try it ***** and it worked. But i haven't done it since last year so i cannot remember how because i bought the tx, mainly because i had extra money, not because i needed to. I think i found a video on TH-cam or an article on how to do it. I remember it was super easy.
Emile van Rensburg wow. awesome. hope I can get to find the video/article as well....I am in that sticky spot where I am debating whether to get the tx or get another 560iv :(
hi. does yn560 IV and a yn622ntx works together. if not whats the best way you recommend?
thank you.
Thanks for sharing, very informative.
I just got the YN 560 IV and noticed when I am on Tx mode and press the PILOT button, the flash doesn't fire. It fires on Other modes but not on Tx mode. Is that normal? I don't have other YN flashes yet.
