    I have been considering buying this flash. Not only did you convince me that it will suit my needs, but you also taught me how to use it. For someone who doesn't know anything about flashes, this was a great help. Thanks.

    Thanks for taking the time to create this video. I have purchased a YN560 III and so far I am extremely pleased with the value for money. I very much enjoy the fact that it is manual and therefore you have to figure out before hand (or experiment) with the various options.

    One important feature not mentioned in the video is that you can pair up to 6 YN-560 III's to a YN-560 TX controller (which mounts on the hot-shoe of the camera). The controller let's you individually adjust zoom and power output of each flash directly from the camera. Comes in handy when shooting with umbrella-type soft-boxes and/or having a flash mounted in a difficult to reach area.

    +Game Lover Get the YN560IV. The 560IV has a built in transmitter. Manual flash settings have not slowed me down much at all for shooting events, so as long as you are used to it, shouldnt be a problem.

    Great video!! You just helped me make a decision about this flashes. I'm definetly gonna buy this flash right now on ebay. I had used the Canon products until I discovered the YN560ii, and have been very happy with it. SO I was about to buy a few more and came across the YN560iii and was wondering if there was any significant difference between the two, And I love the fact that I wont have to use radio triggers, or sync cables or anything. This is great!!

    hey maybe a stupid question BUT:
    I am mounting this flash onto my EOS 5 SLR Film camera. I want to shoot photos in a club/party atmosphere. Dark environment, other party flashing lights etc. You might not be familiar with this camera but I think its easiest for me to shoot on auto (green square) and then shoot in M as your recommending. One thing I have no idea is what fraction I should be set to. If you have a recommended setting for shooting manual on this camera that would be appreciated also!
    The flash deffinitly fires on my EOS 5 SLR btw did one test round but it was a crap shoot some good some bad. shooting with 1600 speed film. Im going to be shooting with porta 400 for this upcoming shoot.
    Please let me know what think!

    Hey, great review! 2 questions:
    1) How easy is it to learn to use a manual flash?
    2) What batteries are best for a flash like this?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Elijah6053 1) Quite easy, most of it is just trial and error :)
      2) I personally use MAHA Powerex and Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries.

    Nice review, but i was hoping that you would go into more detail to most of the functions on the 560iii. I'm interested in finding out how to activate and use the channels and also preventing my yn going on sleep mode. Can you give me some insight on those things? You can also go into detail the other functions that displays into the other functions in the Rx mode?

    I have never used a "manual" flash, and I am wondering, how difficult is it to figure out what power setting to use? Do you have to take some test shots first and arrive at the power setting by trial-and-error? Thanks for posting this video, it answered all my questions except how to figure out what power setting to use.

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very simple actually, just like setting manual exposure before taking a picture, except you now have a 4th parameter. The flash output is also set in stop-increments, so it is pretty straightforward.

    Actually the hot shoe lock mechanics is better than the snap-on on the canon. The Canon Snap-on system already make my flash unit drops twice, even it was tight and full-pushed inside...

    I have a 60d, and an rf 602 rx receiver and a rf 602 tx transmitter. I also have the yongnuo yn 560 mark I. If I have the transmitter on the camera, and the receiver on the mark I 560, will the 560 III fire along with the 560 I? So two flashes firing simultaneously, using the 602 transmitter mounted on the camera?

    I bought this flash too, and I use it on canon 7D.
    But the problem i got with is autofocus in low light, it doesn't work. The front red light that us to assist the focus on other speedlites doesn't work with this. Is it the problem of compatibility or that feature doesn't exist in yungnuo yn560 iii?

    hey for the RF mode you say u need a Transmitter i have the RF-603N how do i get it to communicate with each other to trigger the flash.. It doesnt seem to work for me...
    Thanks

    • @klaussitos
      @klaussitos 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the manual! These are smart devices and have to be configured to work together. For things to work you need to pair both units to the same channel. Make sure the 560 III is in 603 RX-mode and the RF-603 has to be configured as a transmitter.

    Hi great Review! I just had one question... (by the way english is not my main lenguage so sorry if i make a mistake) Anyway my question, This flash can be triggered by Nikon/Canon Commander mode in camera whitout actually shutting the built in flash?? or just by the built in flash ligth?
    Thanks

    • @zy_cheng

      It can be triggered by the built in flash, but can also be triggered without the built in flash if you have a RF Transmitter unit

    What about the Canon 20D? I've been pointed to this flash due to how cheap and great it is to start. I need one for outdoors portraiture and some clubbing photography.
    Will this work for me? Also, they suggested a YN trigger.
    Will it make the flash shot automatically on/off the camera? How does that work?

  • @killjoyshidae1208
    @killjoyshidae1208 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I've been looking at this flash for a while now, and I'm definitely getting it. My only problem is what trigger to get. Should I save up and get it with the RF-603II, or spend the extra $20-30 to get the YN-560-TX? I know it's completely up to me, but what is your input?

    • @AtomicCortex
      @AtomicCortex 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Get the TX. It does the same thing, but for the tiny amount of extra money you are getting vastly more features. Especially if you are using multiple YN560-III flashes, it can let you change the setting manually on each one from the unit (I believe it has the ability to fire older yongnuo flashes with adapters as well)

    • @aroachbenn
      @aroachbenn 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Dude. get the YN560-TX. The RF-603 is great, i have a pair. but this flash has its own built in receiver which makes the 603 redundant to a point. The TX is awesome sauce packaged on top of your camera.

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! Get the TX! This video was made before the TX came out so we only had the RF603 back then. But now I would totally say get the TX because it can really exploit the full potential of the already great YN560III. Being able to remotely control your flash is a huge plus.

    • @AtomicCortex
      @AtomicCortex 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      YN560-IV has been released. It is basically the YN560-III with the TX built in.

    • @aroachbenn
      @aroachbenn 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah...I see it. That's awesome. But now there is a real choice. Do u want the flash with the tx that supports 3 groups or just the Tx and six groups. Decisions, decisions.

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question! Now I would have to say I've never tried my YN 560 III on a nikon yet, but im pretty certain it works for nikon as well, since the hotshoe attachment of it only consists of one pin, and that is the firing pin. The standard hotshoe is made the same, and since this flash has no TTL metering, it shoiuld fire just as it should on a Nikon :)

      shevatesagar30 Sounds like you're talking about optical slave triggering. Disabling the pop up flash completely is not possible. The built-in speedlite transmitter on Canon cameras (the pop up flash) will still emit a weak pulse of light when triggering. You may want to look into RF wireless triggering systems.

    Hai. I'm using D90. Is it possible for me to use this kind of speedlite. Or you recommend other model. Thanks.

    Is it possible to change the output by 1/3 of stop or is it always a full stop?

    do you think an iPhone or smartphone in-built flash can trigger the speedlite in slave? I know that my YN560-II does not fire on the iPhone flash, I wonder if this model does.

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thought of that and tried it before, but its sadly a no because the flash duration of the iPhone's flash and most smartphones are too long to be recognized by the YN 560 III. It only recognizes very short pulses of light. (even lightning triggers it!)

    Great Review sir ! I'm new into strobe photography.So I was thinking to pick up the yn-565 ex.But was confused with the yn 568 ex ii. The difference between the two is HSS and the latter acts as a master flash. Could you help me out. And please help me whether i will be requiring any triggers for the same. I'm using Canon 600 D.

      If you want TTL and/or HSS off camera, then you probably should get the YN622 transceivers. There only $80-90, so it's definitely a steal.

    I have Nikon D7000 with SB-600. Do I have to attach a RF 603 receiver to each YN560 flash unit? Or should I get pocket wizards for the flashes instead?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, you do not need a receiver on every flash. They have them built-in.

    hi there, I recently purchased a YN 560 II which is pretty similar but I couldn't find a tutorial that properly explained how to adjust the frequency of the light. Is the 1/1, 1/2, 1/4 and so on the option for shutter speed or is it the light frequency? If so, is 1/1 the brightest frequency you can go? Sorry, I just got into flash photography and I'm having trouble understanding. Thanks in advance!

      genesiating The fractions show the flash output. 1/1 (100%) means maximum output. 1/2 is 50% output. 1/4 is 25% output and so on.

      @dougmcmillan2483 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ZY Productions I thought the fractions were about time length, ie, 1/1 was one full cycle where as 1/128th is 128th of the duration but the same output.

    Thank you very much, your video help me a lot! i have a few question, what if i want to use 2 unit of YN 560 III, can i use 1 unit of RF 603 to sync both flash?

    So what you're telling me is if I wanted to use 2 or more of these flashes wireless I don't need to buy a wireless transmitter for each one like pocket wizards? All I need is the one made by Yongnuo and attach it to my hot shoe?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes :) Just one on your camera will work.

      ZY Productions I think i had a similiar question as joey. Im a beginner.... your video was great and learned a lot thanks so much! So i wanted to get 2 yongnuo 560iii & put both on a light stand. What trigger system would be able to do that from my canon t4i that has in camera flash? Do i only need one yongnuo 603c trigger on my t4i camera since both the flashes have built in transmitters? Just want to make sure im able to trigger both flashes on the lightstand? Thanks

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, because the two flashes have built-in receivers, you would only need one transmitter on your T4i to trigger both of them, no need to attach extra receiver units on the flashes :)

    If you change settings on your camera, are those same settings automatically changed on the flash too, like the YN-565EX? iso, shutter speed and aperture?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, you'll have to set the flash output manually on the flash itself.

    • @manbearpig5346
      @manbearpig5346 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ZY Productions
      Thanks, I'm kind of new to this. So compared to an ETTL flash, is manually adjusting the flash output the only difference? Does the YN 560 III autozoom accordingly to your lens? Or do you have to adjust the flash zoom manually every time you zoom in/out with your camera lens?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      This flash, if you look at its hotshoe plate, it has only one pin, and its the firing pin. So the only thing communicated between the flash and camera is when the picture is being taken and the flash is to be fired. So for this flash, it does not support metering, no "auto" mode (output must be set manually), and does not autozoom.

    Do you know if its possible to use the 560 iii as a master to trigger other RF603 Triggers?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, it is not possible to use this as a master RF trigger itself.
