  • Here’s a 1993 video from Producer/Director Rod Booth.
Rod has loved antique, classic and special interest cars since early childhood. He was an active worker in several car club organizations on the local, regional and national levels. Rod has owned and restored a number of cars representing every major era of motoring. His video production work has enjoyed outstanding reviews and praise from fellow production professionals. In addition to tape distribution, his productions have been televised on numerous stations across America.
The exact text from this tape’s VHS case:
“It was the dawn of a new century. In Europe and America, during the late 1800’s, the horseless carriage was beginning to make its appearance in an age of revolutionary industrial change. Men with dreams, and a passion for the concept of individual motorized transportation, were at work in blacksmith and machine shops, endeavoring to adapt the stationary engine to the buggy.
In Detroit, Michigan, work was begun on a car bearing the name Buick, launching its quest for survival amidst a field of budding competitors. Buick was soon moved to Flint where it captured the talent and vision of men who would, themselves, become automotive superstars. Buick earned a reputation for performance, durability, comfort and distinctive styling.
Included in this video production, is a documentary overview of Buick’s colorful history, with an emphasis on the early years. There’s a visit to the renowned Historical Collection of the GMI Engineering and Management Institute, also Buick’s Division’s Flint Offices and a peek at some rare cars stored in the Sloan Museum/Buick Division storage facilities. On-camera comments by noted automotive authors and historians, Richard P. Scharchburg and Lawrence R. Gustin bring an added treat to the Flint trip.
For a contemporary perspective, our cameras have captured highlights of the 26th Annual National Meet of the Buick Club of America. Every major tour attraction, plus hundreds of beautiful Buicks and some delightful Buick Club enthusiasts, are featured.
Whether it’s a rendezvous with the Great American Racers, a brief stop at Hershey, a journey to Flint, Michigan or a reserved seat at the 26th Annual National Meet, it’s all here in ‘Buick: At Home on the American Road.’”

What is it with this obsession for this trope, „old video = people dead by now“?
