    When the Car Wizard did a Video on the GM 3800 Engine, I didn’t need to wonder anymore if it’s good or not,however, it’s only as good as the maintenance it receives! Make sure it’s properly maintained!

    I'm still breaking in a brand new engine in my 2003 Park Avenue. It has lots of high performance parts and chrome. I also had a complete suspension replacement including all bushings,air compressor and high performance brakes with Mag wheels. New carpet and complete exhaust system. To bad the clear coat is peeling. Still saving for a paint job. The only reason I have this car is I got it from my Mother and I've seen how desirable they are by mechanics.

    I bought a 95 park ave off Facebook. The quality of the interior is amazing. Needs a lot of tlc, though. It’s my new project

    The great thing about these old grandma cars is nobody messes with you. When cars get behind you they immediately go around instead of tailgating. Also I dont think people would feel need to park next to it in a parking lot either. And these cars at the junkyard are prestine instead of a carcus like with toyotas and hondas.

      The only bad thing about first series of these was the location of the passenger side motor mount, the second series gm moved the mount so the serpentine belt could be changed without having to undo the mount

      Nice, I just pick up a 2 owner 1999 Buick Lesabre 99k for $1800, needs a new driver seat and has a slight oil leak but it rides nicely.

    Just bought a 2000 Buick Park Ave. Ultra back in January and drve it from Richmond, KY to Ft. Myers, FL. So, similar experience. 57000 mile, one-owner, fully optioned, $39000.00, like new automobile. Same wheels, but mine are not chrome. Wanna trade?😂

    I bought my 2003 ultra off marketplace sight unseen for $1100 , three years ago it had 259K on it, still driving it today with 305K on it and zero mechanical problems,no worries about the check engine light, mine has always been on and doesn't affect car any, these old park avenues with the 3800 are so extremely reliable cars, just wondering, how much did ya pay for it, ive always used 87 octane in ours and its performance is top tier

    That heads-up display is handy on challenging side roads. Hopefully it can turn off when cruise is set. No need to see speed when cruising.

    • @Ld28
      @Ld28  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can turn it off and asjust height and brightness. Still going strong 157000 miles

    Those are very nice cars. What is the code that is triggering your check engine light?

    I meant to tell you toy can get the pair of front shocks at Detroit Axle for 61.99 a pair struts front 84.99 a pair and SuncoreIndustires has the coil over by pass to delete air ride in the back both for 88.76 all on bay and they came from Florida

    • @Ld28
      @Ld28  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes thank you, j just finished replacing one wheel bearing from Detroit axle. I have had excellent service from them. The rear struts i replaced them with a set of Monroe. Still have the air ride. Im at 160000 miles. I put another 21000 on her. What a reliabile car. I love it that much... so i purchased.a Lucerne also with the 3800. So know we own two Buicks.

    Does this have the Ultra 1SE Supercharged Series II Engine Of so you need 93 to 95 octane gas. I have a 2004 Ultra model Thinks to watch out is get rid of the shitty dex cool gels up eats and corrodes the intake gaskets. I had a GM mechanic Master Tech II tell me to get rid of the death coo, and use green universal coolant.

    • @Ld28
      @Ld28  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It has the series 2 non supercharged runs on regular fuel and yes ive replaced the coolant. This Park Ave considering its age rides, drives and exhudes all the reliability and confidence youd expect in a new car. The interior is squeak free. And quiet as can be.

      First thing I did with our ultra was flush out the dexcool orange and re filled with prediluted green 💚

    I think the most unbelievable thing about this whole trip was that you never used cruise control through the whole thing!
    Also man it's humorous seeing the final results of that rear wheel brake dragging... wheel looks like a whole different color now

    • @Ld28
      @Ld28  ปีที่แล้ว

      I live to drive and hate the cruise control i can manage better fuel economy without the cruise. Update
      Car now has 148600 miles

      @@Ld28 Cruise control is meant to reduce fatigue that you would feel driving a long trip
