Love Croce -- had Time In A Bottle sung at our wedding -- but I think Geoff's arrangement tells the story of this song better than the original.

When ya get something a lil different ... not taking away from the original at all --- AND it's so damn good!!! Yep! I'll take that. Thanks Cole! Be Safe

Geoff's arrangement is more malicious than the original, and I loved his scat at the end!!

Has vibes from 16 tonns, big bad john, and Aint No Sunshine.

Please do a reaction video to Voice Plays newest release called Classical Chaos. Layne is the master of Chaos. Too funny !

So much to love on this one! And yeah - the Geoffs here DO seem related to 16 Tons! I think it's the jazzy groove (with snaps) that does it. I kind of think of this as the miners having gone over to the 'dark side' both by subject and by wardrobe!
And I really love the choice to go 'up' for Slim. It gives a very different (almost naive) feel to the character. You can see how easily he might be underestimated (and so how Jim lost to him). And yet we get such nice bluesy kind of runs in here. Lastly, adding the scat back in at the end (instead of after each verse) gives it such a jazzy type of end.
