    Saw this video 18 months ago and scared the hell out of me. At same time was in the market for motorhome. Kept getting calls from sales person. After this video no way would I buy a gas powered motorhome. Waited another year and bought a 2008 American Coach Heritage 45A. Dual real axels and 500 hp Cummins diesel. No sway, rides great, stops great and safe and just as it came from the factory but with 38,000 miles. I am glad I waited and got something safe. I would have been real upset if I had bought one of these motorhomes with the f53 chassis that need all this just to keep it on the road. For my sake and the sales guy trying to talk me into buying the coach with that chassis. They are truly not engineered well and in no way should they sell these before they can make them safe and comfortable to drive. Thank you folks for showing just how bad these things are. Saved me a whole lot of grief and exposed and educated me on what is junk.

      Thank you for your comment! While it is generally true the F-53 chassis has some "out of the box" challenges, the good news is that with high-performance aftermarket steering and suspension parts, you can have a very enjoyable motorhome to drive. It might take some modifications but it will be worth it in the end. In your case, I am happy to see we steered you in a direction that you are happy with. (pun intended! LOL) Safe Travels!

    WOW! Huge difference in handling with these mods! I own a totally stock F53 that handles like a shopping cart full of bowling balls! The only bad thing about this has to do with weight. How much does all this extra bolt on hardware weigh? That extra weight reduces the load carrying capacity of the coach. Not a problem unless you are already near or over the max GVW with full gas, propane, water tanks. all your gear and passengers.

      Hey Thanks for the comment. We sure love helping F53 Owners. As far as the weight on the parts, I'd say that is a minimal inconvenience when compared to ending white knuckle driving. I have NEVER heard someone say they were sad because the weight of their sway bar prevented them from carry an extra 20-pounds. Hope that helps. If you want EXTACT weights feel free to call. We love talking about Steering and Suspension!

    Great video. We have a 2022 Winnebago Vista 29V. A smaller F53 chassis (18K).
    This 2021 frame has the upgraded sway bars from the factory. We had a SuperSteer track bar, SafeTPlus and Koni shocks. It was a big help. If you have any other suggestions for ride and handling improvements please let me know.
    Thank you.

    Great demo of the improvement in handling. Can you provide a list of major parts and what is the best order to add them. Also, how long does it take to add these parts if you do the work? Thanks!

      Will do. until then you can go to SuperSteerParts.com and type in your coach and it will show you all the parts that fit your coach. :)

    My question is, why wont the manufacturers do this ad on when they build the coach to begin with? I would be more than willing to pay the additional cost, if that is what it takes! Why should we have to "ad" this, when the manufacterers already know the problem exists?

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. I am not sure if you are aware that motorhomes are built in 2 separate phases. For example take the Ford F53 chassis used in this video. The chassis is made by Ford but the BOX on top is made buy a completely different manufacturer. Every finished Class A motorhome is a little different based on its floor plan and weight distribution. I can't speak for every situation but I am fairly sure it's about the cost to the builder.

  • @captaintomst
    @captaintomst 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can't spend the kind of money that is required to do the whole deal but if you were going to start with one part of it, which would give the most bang for the buck. Then maybe next year I'll add another , the next year another. Also are any of these doable by the owner?

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment! I totally understand what you are saying. As for where to start, my question for you is what bothers you the most? Sway, Wander? Rut-tracking? There are many issues we address but in the end you are the one driving. We want to help you with the issues that matter most to you. Give us a call we can narrow down what might be best over the phone. Call us at 888-898-3281

    I always notice that when you takk about this stuff, you never give the total cost of this upgrade, although I know it varies. My main question is, why dont the manufacterors just do this to begin with in order to save the cost of having to do it yourself at an obvious outragous price?

      Thanks for the question! There are quite a few different options for upgrades, depending on what bothers you the most. If steering issues are your main complaint, then the SS381 Performance Steering Package is a great starting point at $1833.29 for the parts, as of today (8/28/24), plus sales tax where applicable. If you'd like to discuss further, you can call us at 888-898-3281 or email sales@supersteerparts.com.

      SuperSteer: "You can put in your make and model in the website"... In other words.... it costs $ THOUSANDS. I have absolutely no doubt they make a massive difference from the stock F53 set-up. I would like to see a non-biased comparison between this and the simple position adjustment of the sway bar mounting locations (called by some "Cheap handling fix," costing about $7 in thread-locker and 2 hours of work) on the stock F53. As of today, 3/3/22, here are the prices listed on the website for only the part numbers listed: SS403: $596.25 / SS101 $950.00 / SS401 $549.99 / SS289 $1925.00 / SS202F $225.00 / SS202R $85 / 41-180 $565.00... and not listed in the parts list... the Koni shocks themselves... $175.00 each x 4 = $700.00. Total of the kit shown not including any 1. mounting hardware, 2. labor, 3. the all mighty scam of "shop supplies and hazardous waste disposal": $5,596.24. From pure testimonial information, making the sway bar adjustment that is built-in to the stock system will give exceptional sway control over the stock position. I'm going to try the $7 fix first and see if I feel the need to crazy money on an already $200,000 rig.

    The best suspension parts should be installed at the factory for a lot less money. Typical RV industry saving money that puts the customers in danger .

      Thank you for bringing this issue to light. It would be great if high-performance Steering and Suspension parts came from OEM. Until then we are thankful to have helped so many people have safer and happier driving!
