    I got a set of these, I absolutely love them, but think that might’ve gotten a bad set, or I killed the left speaker, as it constantly has a low vibration, but when music kicks in it sounds still fantastic. They're the most comfortable IEM's I own and wear them for 8 hours and no fatigue. I only don't like how short the cable is.

    It's refreshing to see good IEMs that aren't Chi-Fi, maybe Sennheiser and Shure are starting to put their in-ears game together after loosing sales. Would love to see reviews of the new "Aonic" line from Shure to see if that's the case.

      I'm not too clued up on IEM's but i can say i'm an avid music listener. I ordered the Aonic 4's as my ikko OH1's connector was constantly loose even after replacing the cable so i thought i would try something new. Needless to say the Aonic 4's were not impressive at all, i payed around $300 dollars for them and my ikko's sounded a lot better, to my ear atleast. I've returned them since and am still on the hunt for a good "upgrade" to my ikko's which doesn't break the bank.

    Good to see a Sennheiser IEM review. I've sworn by the IE8/80/80s range last decade for my main portable earphones and constantly get caught out and surprised by them, particularly when I switch hardware around them - I'll suddenly go on an all night binge of my collections all over again. IE80s is definitely best they've produced of the range, I'm surprised by all the poor reviews I've read on them. They def all benefit from an aftermarket cable.
    Is IE300 the replacement for IE80s? A rebranding because of it's poor reception? IE8/IE80 received high praise, but IE80s did not, and you'd do well to find the IE80s on their website these days without physically typing _"IE80s"_ into the search bar.
    Edit: too long

      I own IE 80S and they are amazing in terms of micro detail (although not in the face) and also for revealing layers of bass. Not to forget its amazing soundstage. Source matters too. It sounds great with iPhone (tighter & detailed bass, better mids) and good enough with my Android (OP 7).
      I am looking for honest IE 80 S comparison with IE 300 to decide on my purchase. BTW I like the laid back relaxed sound signature of IE 80 S.

    • @mikael7071
      @mikael7071 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Gaurav18nov I'd go for the 300 imo. I recently acquired an old pair of IE8 to try out from a friend and they destroyed IE80S. My comment IE80S is the best was based on sennheisers refinement of their midrange within the lineup. But listening back over the first iteration, IE8, I'd do away with those improvements if I could have that soundstage and dynamics again... IE8 is phenomenal.
      I'm switching mine over now, cannot get joy from them anymore.

    As Zeos notes, MMCX connectors are recessed. They don't appear to connect with a typical MMCX connector (at least none of the MMCX connectors that I have - hopefully Zeos will know of balanced cables that can connect so he can link). If you want to run it balanced, Sennheiser states on the IE 300 product page that they will have balanced cables available. Not sure how much those will cost or when they will be available for purchase.

      I wouldn't be scouring the comments for people with the headphones if Zeos actually explained the sound in depth however here I am. Ok, I have a pair of moondrop starfields running off the fio btr3k, I like and want iems that do beautiful intimate vocals, while also having good base. Originally I was looking at the Iko oh10s as an upgrade ( for still the same sound that I like and want), 1. are they in tune with what I think they sound like and 2. are the seinhiser ie300s a big enough worthy upgrade from the oh10s to warrant purchase, and are they the sound style I described I like????

      @@TurkFPS these iems do sound great but the cable is awful, very bad microphonics that completely interrupt and ruin the listening experience. Sadly I had to return them just because of the terrible and irreplaceable cable :/ what a waste of a great iem sennheiser

      @@TurkFPS Joshua Valour reviewed them in a standalone video and DMS gave a quick review in his "IEM Roundup 2021 Edition!!! The Price Ladder!" video if you want some other opinions. I'm kind of new to the hi-fi hobby and I'm not familiar with the Starfields or the Iko oh10s. I heard them described as significantly V-shaped with good mids by other reviewers. They're really fun to listen for certain kinds of music, like RTJ, but I don't find them to be exceptional for vocals. The bass just kind of low key overwhelms everything else. Like if you put bacon in food, the bacon flavor just kind of overwhelms all the other flavors. Bacon is delicious, so great for the most part, but not all the time. Based on my limited experience and the information you provided, it does not sound like these have the sound style that you want. I haven't really noticed/been bothered by the microphonics, but not having the option of replacing the so-so stock cable with a great third party cable is definitely a bummer.

    Crazy organ music or stuff by the likes of Zimmer, Yosi Horikawa and Juno Reactor etc?
    A song came out the other day called 'Answers' by Andy Stott which has some insane bass but no clue how far down it goes, either my sub was struggling or the song had some strange effects.

    I really dont understand why practical Germans in Sennheiser went this road with the wearing system. Its logic that if the earphone itself is lighter than the cable, it will cause many comfort issues. I have Beyerdynamic Xelento and they have perfect system! The earphones are light and small, so they made thin and even lighter cable. Actually I dont even feel there is any cable attached while wearing them. The only problem is that its hard to find similar balanced cable but finally got one from OEAudio- very thin, light and elegant.

    • @NyteStalker89
      @NyteStalker89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sound is subjective and no one can just tell you if something is too harsh for you.. with audio you have to take a literal gamble on something. If it work, you note the sound profile and start researching similar products. Buy and keep what sounds good to you, not based off what someone else thinks may or may not sound good/bad

    Hey man, it would be so awesome if you could review the IE 400 Pro or 500 Pro from Sennheiser as they pretty much take care of all the complaints you had about the 300s, plus they have an even wider soundstage with that smoothness of the 300 that you love so much! The ear hooks are still memory wire, but they keep their shape way easier and the cable is a nice soft slightly rubbery feel that tends to lay better. Also, they don’t spin around quite as easily so it’s easier to keep them the way you like. Please see if Sennheiser will send you some!!! I love mine and I’d love to hear how you feel. They’re game changing for me.
