    It seems as though we feel the same on these and the OH10's, the OH10 is my go-to iem for everything. I can't find a single fault with them, not to mention iKKO sent out the bluetooth adapter as well and it doesn't make the audio suffer at all.

    I love my P1's with a BTR5. I bought both on your recommendation and don't regret it. I won't buy the P2's. The BTR5 is a bit bulky but I carry it everywhere, if I can't use the BTR5 with an IEM, the IEM makes no sense to me.

    I got the P1 a few months ago and found them to be very amp dependent. They were detailed but not very enjoyable to me as I wanted to use them on the go more often. The only way I could enjoy them was with my Fiio K3. I returned them and got the FH3. Different iem but didn't regret the switch. Then I got the Shuoer Tape last month and I was overwhelmed by how good they sounded, while also being super efficient. I returned the Tapes last week as they came out with the Tape Pro now.

      @OrcaBrigade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wouldn't surprise me. The driver does get more dynamic with more umph behind the amping. But something like the ifi Zen Can amp was entirely way too much with how the P2 has been tuned. So I've been using them on my Qudelix 5K, it mitigates the 16k-ish piercing peak sound they've got going on.

    • @Sand_1995
      @Sand_1995 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Volume output will be exactly the same in any amp at the same power level. If an expensive amp will produce 80dB at 20mW for a given headphone a cheaper amp will produce the same volume at the same power. Noise is a different thing but at 80dB which is the safe listening volume and pretty loud enough you won't be able to hear noise unless the source is noisy.Amps are supposed to be transparent they merely amplify whatever the DAC produces. Expensive amps don't mean they are better . Pretty sure Zeos is listening to audio at 100+dB and his hearing is gone.

    I own 2 pairs of the P1, and perfectly understand your review. Can't wait to receive the P2. I hope I won't be disappointed. Only thing I disagree is the portable thing. If they are like the P1, they need at least 200mw to properly works, so they are hard to use, but some DAP can deliver that, specially on their balanced Output. One of my P1 is plugged to a Shanling M3S, and it works great. EDIT : ok didn't heard your portable test.. 200mW are enough.

    question, do you "need" more power if you can already reach the limit of comfortable volume with headroom to spare?

    • @iluvj00
      @iluvj00 4 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Volume is not a good indication of the potential sound of an item. You can put the tin p1 on a cellphone and get the volume uncomfortably high. The complexity of the sound coming out of them will not be complete. The frequencies will not be complete, that's why people said the p1 was just a mid iem. You need power, more electricity to run them at full potential. So if you do not have the power, it is useless to buy them.

    • @nunucheong

    • @iluvj00
      @iluvj00 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@nunucheong Loudness, to a great degree, is subjective. What is loud to one person is not to another. Imagine a subwoofer that needs 5k watt to run those sub frequencies... you can put it VERY loud on less power but what will come out of it will be shit... ZERO bass, zero sub-bass...

      See UUMPH is more than volume, T50rp can get loud on a phone but the highs are piercing and its bass light. Underpowering things like speakers and headphones doesn't always indicate with sheer decibels of sound. The actual shape of the sound changes once the headroom for lower frequencies is there.

    My thing is, If it needs an amplifier to run, and they cost upwards of $350?.... Why wouldn't you just buy a pair of full sized headphones? • @MrB10N1CLE
      @MrB10N1CLE 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's almost as if the P1s are notoriously amp picky, so people's mileage varies greatly. I'd also add that P1 not being shouty isn't necessary a good thing, especially when the P1 has such a limp pinna gain

      Don't have issues with it. My phone is just enough to run it when the equalizer is set all up on all bars plus my Samsung has an overclocked output. With the BTR5 if my phone is maxed out it's good enough at only 20 so instead I balance the two with my phone around 60-70% with the BTR5 at 35-42.

    The Tin P1's are the best IEM's I've ever heard (granted, most IEM's I've heard are total garbage). I use them regularly with my Radsone es100, balanced on high voltage, with Spinfit tips. They distort with Dragonfly Red, and with the wrong tips they lack bass. It took me maybe a full year to finally recognize how good they were, with the right amp and tips. I disagree that they have an unusual sound signature. To my ear, they sound like the T2's but more refined.

    I have them and I honestly don't think he really knows what the hell he's talking about. Those adapters aren't that expensive by themselves... nor combined if you know where to look.
    The p2 have a pretty gnarly peak... no not just in the 8k region, a good part of that is coupler resonance. There's a 16k piercing sound, the planar pierce as I call it, I have assumptions that it's the diffuser.
    Per tin they suggest a dap with 500mw... powering them far too much makes the piercing sound step far too forward. It's not just me, I've been trying to figure out how to un-fuck the sound and so far it's not going very well. Qudelix 5k can power the p2's more than fine balanced out with performance mod on, and on 4vrms out (high gain).
    The driver is solid, there is something to love there.. but not for this price and not as it sits now.

    I was wondering when these would come out. Too bad I need a 500.00 amp to run them. The word portable is becoming a thing of the past. 800.00+ for the Tin P2's and an amp with enough power to run them. For 800.00 I'm sure I can find a great pair of headphones or iem's that I can run on my iPhone or through my stereo. Wish I had that type of money during this time.

    I think you're giving the P1s a bad rap when you seem to allude to the fact no one likes them. This isn't the case, they have a 4.7 out of 5.0 on Amazon for sound, excellent reviews on TH-cam and on Headfi forums and are generally thought of as a great IEM almost everywhere I look online.

    • @renemonroy214
      @renemonroy214 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to buy them, but I’m not sure if my Schiit Hel will drive them enough and I’m not willing to replace it soon, that’s probably the feeling of many. Others don’t even know they need a proper DAC/Amp and they don’t know what the hell is going on and that’s the most common problem.

    • @adamowl4425
      @adamowl4425 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@renemonroy214 A schitt Hel will 100 percent drive the P1s. When people say they need power, they mean don't run them off a smart phone, a Schiit is perfect.
      I owned the P1 and they are one of the most beautiful sounding IEMs if you're listening to strings or vocals. Wouldn't use them for metal or bass heavy stuff but vocals and strings are beautifullllll.

    • @renemonroy214
      @renemonroy214 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the thing is I’ve seen some comments that a Fulla didn’t have enough power even when it can handle 32 ohms. And here’s my conflict: in Hel the specs are at Maximum Power, 32 ohms: 1000mW RMS. While in something like a Magni the Maximum Power, 32 ohms: 2.4W RMS per channel. Would that make any difference on sound quality at all?
