- This is why pouch cell batteries are better. Today I tore apart the Redodo 100ah mini battery to take a closer look.
Redodo is currently having a sale if you make a purchase I get a small kick back and you don't have to pay more. Thanks for supporting my homestead.

Great info. Thanks for opening the battery and showing us.
I just found this for $225 on Amazon after using the 10% off promotion.
"way more than 30 seconds of research, at least 60 seconds" lol!
Good info
Glad you think so!
I like that idea, b/c they prefer to be at a lower charge to not swell prematurely, you can just use more of them where that isn't an option with heavy acid batteries that need to always be fully charged to not deteriorate. I fear the runaway heat-reaction & am probably going to use gel for the 8 hours I need for the entertainment in a home, the 55ah SLA I have now is just not enough. With acid-batteries I'm somewhat limited to 80ah batteries b/c anything heavier is less of a one-person-job.
pouch cells are better for manufacturing and discharge rating due to their higher surface area, but cylindrical cells are better for their safety and longevity. I used to resell lithium-ion batteries from recycling centers and pouch cells would often swell, but cylindrical cells do not. Due to the longevity of cylindrical cells I still consider them the superior packaging for pouch cells even with the lower theoretical energy density.
