After watching all of your sound tests and doing a bunch myself with the 30 different samples I have, I am ready to suggest that the brightness is related to whether the chip has an inlay or not. If you take a ceramic hybrid like the Ascona, Ravenor or Tangiers, they will be deeper in sound than a full ceramic like a Tiki. They will sound a lot like an inlay clay chip. But a hot stamp clay chip has no inlay, and that is why its closer in pitch to a ceramic. I think this is the result of two things; 1- The centres of the chips dont touch as much on a recessed inlay chip, reducing the clanking of two chip faces slamming together, and 2- The label acts as a muffler, a dampener for sound. So a chip with a recessed center and an inlaid label, will always sound deeper in tone than a flat, unlabelled chip, regardless of material, weight and density being equal. If anyone here plays drums, the labels act like "moongels" on a drum head., reducing overtones, and leaving the "thud", which is the deeper fundamental pitch.. As the weight and density of a chip goes up, its pitch lowers, because heavy chips vibrate less and dampen more. Try testing that yourself, John. I think we solved the mystery:))
As one of the original members of this group buy, I am super happy with my Atlantic Club chips and the price was fantastic for CPC. You can purchase these directly from CPC under their stock set section.
Are they the same material as their Rounders chips you reviewed? I just bought a sample set of those and they are great! These look great as well in their simplicity.
@Hobbyphilic, these chips are gorgeous. What is the best clay composite chip, with edge markers, hot stamping with customization option? Please advise. Keep up the great content!
Hey Jon. In a recent video you mentioned that Paulson will "likely" begin offering consumers their chips in the future. What makes you say that? And by the time I save up for one of these CPC sets @ $1000 they may be available ? Is there a website I can help petition? Thanx man Videos are great!
I can relate. When I first saw the hot stamp chips I didn't care much for them. After a year or so, I ordered a sample set and realized I really liked them. For me, I expect everyone to be different, they really grew on me over time. Thanks for watching.
Well, $875 for 500 if you go stock. www.classicpokerchips.com/stock/atlantich.htm. But if you're looking for fracs, then yeah, need to go custom. Thanks for watching.
Hobbyphilic Well I was refering to a set of hotstamped cashgame specific chips. I actually emaildd them and asked. The demand for hotstamped cashgame is non existent. Maybe this video will change that, because I do love what I see in this video. Also I was told in the email that the only reason they managed to produce this set because someone put a huge order on this tourny set of hotstamps! Anyway keep up the good work, love your videos, top class!!
Wow. Not impressed at all with those faded stamps. A couple if those chips looked like they had tiny chips or bites out the edges also. Very glad i havent pulled the trigger on cpcs

I just cannot bring myself to buy chips without edge spots
This.
beautiful bold chips. get a set, John, and show us towers of these things. I love how chips without edge spots look when they're stacked
Is it possible to somehow revome that brass powder on the edges?
no, the powder is all throughout the material

How are they holding up after 5 years? Thinking about getting a set
how about 7 years
Just ordered a set of these. Swapped the yellow for a retro lavender.
can you drop chips on the floor like something that is likley to happen istead of snapping them? lol . you can snap them after the drop test
If someone drops a CPC chip on the floor, you firmly but politely ask them to leave and never return.

Yes, same material. Thanks for watching.
These look amazing, but a bit out of my price range currently.

Dude, CPC is literally the ONLY clay chips manufacturer left that sells to the public. That's it. That's your only choice.

I'm not so sure anymore. It is hard to foresee when, if ever, Paulson will release chips to the home consumer. Thanks for watching.
flopped a straight with J10 offsuit. :D
CPC makes some great chips, love the A mold but I think I still prefer inlays over hot stamps.
How about the Aurora Star hot stamps? Those are what made me love the hot stamp look
@@prototypep4 Group buys don't count, because they're not widely available to the public.
@@SergeantExtreme NAGB's don't count* but yes.
Suited pair?
I find the design rather bland but the quality does seem impeccable

Wish there was a cashgame set. But making a cashgame set would cost like 1100 usd for a set of 500.
