Would be great if you can make a series of episodes on autoimmune kidney disease such IGA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, vasculitis etc. These diseases are almost always not directly talked about on channels covering kidney diseases.. thank you!

@faizasiddique6201 changing to a low salt - whole foods plant based diet seems to help a lot in my case. So no processed foods (even bread, pasta etc) just veggies, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds. I also don't cook with oil, but steam or boil when I eat warm food. In the summer I eat a lot of raw food(fruits and vegetables) I try to get at least 1 green smoothie every day as well. And of course I don't smoke or drink alcohol. I do sport on a regular basis and manage stress with meditation or active relaxation exercises. All my blood markers have improved after adapting this lifestyle. I also had autoimmune markers (ANA and P-ANCA) elevated, which also now are undetectable. Proteinuria (albuminuria) has gone down from 70 mg/day to 18 mg/day. GFR was 110 on my last check up.. I still have microscopic blood in my urine, but other than that, you can't really tell from my labs that i have this disease anymore. And during this time there has been no change in medication, so I can only attribute the positive changes in my lab results to lifestyle changes. I had my kidney biopsy about 5 years ago where you could see the disease had caused significant scarring, so I guess that will never heal fully. But as long as I can manage it with lifestyle, I'm not too worried anymore. I'm 40 years old btw and have normal BMI. I hope that helps. I'm not saying this will help you or anyone else, but I think it's worth trying to get as healthy as possible what ever that means for you. God bless you!

My brother was placed on dialysis recently because his BP had been uncontrolled for a long time and now his kidneys are affected. His creatinine was a little over 20, BUN over 100. I’m not sure what his eGFR is. He was having symptoms (shortness of breath, mild pulm edema). They didn’t give him diuretics because of his creatinine. Not sure if he’s having acute on chronic kidney failure. We’re pretty much told that he will need dialysis for life. I don’t want this for him but they’ve already started while he’s in the hospital. I’ve been looking at changing his diet to try to preserve or reverse the damage but I don’t know if he’s too far gone.

They want to use the blood pressure card is an inflammatory condition that causes all diseases and they don't want to get to the root cause of the inflammation some people can change their diet and everything clears up some people have autoimmune conditions like I do and it don't make no difference if you take the blood pressure your inflammatory conditioning in your body rules over everything even where the medicine don't even work.

@@ednatyler8296 First take care of your digestion. Clean your liver, gallbladder, and related organs involved in digestion. It is a slow process. Increase the use of olive oil in your food which helps in gallbladder obstructions. Don't eat oily food except the good quality olive oil. Once your liver starts to function normally, it will start to get reflected in your kidney health. Again wait patiently. Keep dialysing till blood work shows improvement.

Doctor says I have 51% kidney Function Left . I'll be 56 next Month and have had Type 2 Diabetes for 16 Years , I feel ok , I had a lot of trauma near and around my Kidneys , I had Hep C from 2000 until 2015 and also quit drinking in 2015 . Awhile back about 4 Years ago my triglycerides was 512 , Last Year my a1c was always above 13.3 My last number was 10.3 the lowest I have seen in years .... Like I said I feel ok .... I watched Butter makes your pants fall off and am on Low Carb . a lot of Meat . Changing the Diet Helped the way I feel and brought the numbers down .

If you see triglyceride 512, this alone speaks of problem. This means you eat way more carbs. First consequence is trigyceride, them insulin resistence. JUST control this as first step.

I would start with a detox, available in health food stores. Absolutely clean your food habits up, and drink water or unsweetened herbal teas. Cut down on carbs, and learn to treat refined sugar like poison, because that's exactly what it is ...
Do your own extensive research, some people have been able to reverse the condition to a large extent.
      Best wishes.

Ken says there are no studies that show that people with CKD should limit meat consumption because its hard on the kidneys. Glucose, protein or dyes -from diagnostic testing- excreted into urine can increase specific gravity not just dehydration making urine more concentrated.
I had high urate, high urea, high creatinine, high creatine kinase, high albumin and still my doctor assumed I was just "dehydrated". I don't drink alcohol, and I don't eat alot of protein, I didn't do any physical overexertion for 3 days before my tests.
EGFR went from 57 to 38 in less than 10 months.
    Still no concern.

I am there with you. My previous doctor never tried to get my blood pressure under control which caused my kidney issue. She finally gave me a referral to see nephrologist and the first thing she did was change my BP medicine and my kidney function went from 58 to 72! I found a new doctor because I refused to go back to her. You need to see a specialist if you haven't already to focus on the cause of the problem and how to fix it.

Well it's inaccurate to say creatine isn't effective in building muscle. Numerous studies have shown that it works .

That is excellent! Protein in the urine is the best indicator of future, kidney problems, with no protein it’s a great sign that you’ve put the brakes on the progression of kidney issues.
