- In the video we get to see the typical 4 o’clock parade… However, tourists are in shock when they notice a giant 7Ft tall king’s guard on duty. This is clearly a very rare sighting as you don’t expect giants like that to be associated with the king’s guard. Hope you enjoy the video! Don’t forget to like and subscribe!

If you must have a guard, have a big one !!!!
Size doesnt matter, but brain also matters
Shut up,
He's actually 6ft 6". Tall man in uniform🥰
He’s definitely right hand marker material on every parade.😃
Years ago the grenadier & Coldstream guards all had to be over 6 foot to be in the regements
And now we have guards who are 4’6” tall!
I had a photo taken of me , 5’3” standing next to a Grenadier Guard who was 7’ tall excluding his bearskin, It’s easy to see him in the photo, I seemed to have shrunk to the ground…its a great photo.
I assumed it was still the same, until I saw a few who are "short."
I was 6ft when I was in The Lifeguards and that was average, although you can be too tall as you will find it difficult to fit in s tank. 😊
Now, we have females in the Front Line Regiments
What a special event. Guards and horses look amazing. Txs❤
Superb, hope you get more tall guards, he’s stunning❤❤❤
Wow, he is tall. He should be out there when some of these ignorant tourists are making a nuisance of themselves.
Totally agree! So many of them are totally disrespectful! I'm waiting for one of the horses to nip one of them.
it's happened. Eitherthe horse has enough or it wants to nibble on a jacket, people have been bitten. Unfortunately, not hard enough to give pause.
Edit: this one lady put her hand on the horse's mouth and he promptly put her whole hand in his mouth. She had a bit of a struggle to get it back. And the guard pretended he hadn't seen a thing. I lol'd.
Holy moly. His height is quite evident when he’s lined up.
I would love to see him stood next to the Asian police officer that would look funny
You would think this young man would be the Kings Personal Bodyguard. I have never seen anyone so tall. 😀
Well then you are referred to Pakistan border rangers guard at Wahga parade.
@@naeemsafdar4349stfu no one cares about Paki curry land
I bet he played basketball in school.
@@CelticLady01 in the U.K. we don’t play basketball religiously
He looks about the same height as the police officer. He’s a big guy himself.
We are the envy of the world

Lovely message!
Beautiful The Tradition so lost by many❤️🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸❤️🕊️✨🕊️✨🕊️✨
The sliding of the booted left foot and the stamping of the other foot, I know for sure I would skid and fall flat on my back ! 😳🤦♀️
That must be were Princess Katherine learned to do her foot shuffle to get in place for photographs with out actually walking.
😂😂😂
The King should have him behind him with Col. Thompson, who comports himself so well. I love that Col. Thompson has that dirk in his sock. No one will ever mess with the King!
What is a dirk?
@@sheilabuchanan8619 It is a dagger (knife.). I don't know if it is legal for just anyone over there, but it was traditional for Scots to keep their dirk in their sock. It is part of Col Thompson's uniform, so legal for him.
That is not a dirk, it's sgian dubh and is a small bladed knife, usually with an ornate handle, and is worn in the sock. A dirk is a much larger bladed dagger and worn elsewhere.
@@stuartmccall5474 Oh, thank you for that. I only knew about the dirk. New thing learned today! I love days like this!
@@PS_testing321... Ha ha, the joys of TH-cam!
Absolutely wonderful.
Thank you for all your videos, and my Nanna wanted me to say that she is your biggest fan. X
0:55 my goodness!
This country’s guards has the best finest bloodline of horse breeds.
Very distinguished pure bred horse.
something of a controversy too, if I am not mistaken ...
It must be very difficult walking,or doing anything in those boots, as there appears to be no ‘give’ in them. I think the guards do incredibly well considering and most of the time look very smart, give or take the odd soiling on the pants, which may come from the saddle.
Their boots & clothing is made specifically for each individual. If you interested in the soldiers ( both men & horses ) google ( The Queens Guards:A Year In Service ). You will watch these very guards ( both man & horse ) go through extensive training. It’s a mini series that takes you through everyday living from the moment they walk through the doors until their graduation. watching the horses getting playtime at the ocean is funny. You’ll get to know the guards by name , but mostly you get to see them laughing & having fun through out their training . I have a higher respect for both men & horses.
@@maryskinner1329 Thank you I will take a look. I do have a very high regard for the me n and horses. Someone commented that one of the guards had marks on his trousers and as a former keen rider I am only too well aware that marks could come from anywhere. I meant no disrespect at all.
@@AuntSally1
It should have read I ( myself ) have a higher respect. Good grief writing is getting worse
Is that another way of describing the aftermath of a Shart ?
What is a give in boots?
Have you noticed that when they do these parades they invariably line up in height order? The bugler with his red plumes appears to be an exception to this rule.
It is normal practice to parade tallest to shortest. The trumpeter is an exemption.
You young men the Kings Guards are all so amazing I absolutely think your incredible
One of the greatest tourism shows on earth.
If all the guards were as imposing as he is then maybe they might get more respect from the ignorant tourists!
I’d love one day for the King or POW to wander down and watch this without prior notice, just to see the response. Yes, I’m a cheeky git
I think the Royal Family's service to the UK is commendable. I read how HRM Queen Elizetbeth II, all have military service in their records. Prince Harry actually served two tours in Afghanistan.
I wholeheartedly agree.
And Prince Andrew served in the RN on helicopters in the Falkland war.
He can guard the tower too as a Hightower lookout.
Closer to 6’8” than 7
He’s magnificent ❤
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖
I’m sure I read that this talk guard is 7 foot talk!!🇨🇦❤️🍁🇬🇧
I do think 6.6 foit. It he was 7, we would be as tall a Shaquille O'Neal
You read it here, lol.
They make you proud to be British
I'm 6 feet and 2 inches, I think. I dunno if he is taller than me. Of course, his helmet make him look taller.
He is 6 8
He is the person all the others look up to.
Yes, he's very tall next to the other guards.
I think the cement is slippery, because I have seen on TH-cam when some have fallen! 🇨🇦❤️🇬🇧🍁
I remember that trooper when he first got started
That soldier with the horse had a rip in the back of his pants lol.
You bum looker you lol😂
Just stuck to his butt from sitting so long.
The Bugler needs a bit more practice…. 20 years ago that would have been a embarrassment for the Guards and the Sargent at Arms would have gone over and asked Him to Leave the Parade Ground , Standards have certainly fallen . Even the end Guardsmen on the far right was slouched his head is bowed down instead of looking front and centre…. A complete shambles….Also the dismount was disgraceful the mounted guardsmen twisted his Body and ended up smashing the End of the Sword Sheath onto the Ground , Thats a Big Fail and the Sargent didn’t even shout at Him . 😢😢😢😢😢. SAD TO SEE
Well done, artistic video.
I'm Portuguese descent and born and raised in the best country in the world. For being the youngest country on the globe is the United States of America i would never say anything bad about my parents country because i love that country much for it being the smallest country in Europe and it's as old as England and Spain .PORTUGAL has discovered more territory than both countries.Next time you eat look at the food i'm sure PORTUGAL brought thatback from the west indies like pepper pasta .I'M SURE PORTUGAL HAS GREAT CEREMONIES OF THIER PAST MILITARY .ALSO THIS PART OF ENGLANDS MILITARY ALSO DONATIONS FROM THE TOURISTSQUEEN ELIZABETH II KEPT THE TRADITION FROM HER GRANFATHER
Imagine how tall he’d look on a horse…….
He would, and does, look pretty much like any other trooper, cept his feet come further down the horses flanks than a shorter man. Most male height is in their legs. The torso is only a little taller if any than his squad mates. You can see it very clearly in the lineup. It's his legs that are longer
Esp on Ormonde
My son's 5th great grandfather was a Grenadier....

Eligieron muy alto a este guardia😅😅😅,los dejó muy abajo a sus compañeros 😅!! 💙💙

Very nice indeed
The king has his own mountain
OMG must have been hard doing his uniform.😊😊
Make way, please…when did this happen?!?
In my platoon, we had an officer who was 7 foot 2. My goodness, could he run.
Guard trumpeters don't get a lot of practice time with their trumpets, do they. Still love 'em, tho.
The Royal Guards United Kingdom 💜🖤 🥀🙏🏻
shocked, that they make those kinky boots in his size !!
It's men guards are beautiful.🤪❤❤
Wow, he is tall.😲🤪❤❤
There certainly isn't a horse big enough for him.
Maybe a Giraffe 😊
I was imagining him mounted with his feet on the ground.
A shire horse

seems like they do things different every time they change.
Big chunk of expenses for this kind of budget!
Oh di lally hes like a gladiator
My gosh if he was on a horse his feet would touch the ground.
My wonderful, handsome, boss, aka Superman is 6'9" hard to imagine him being 3" taller with that massive plume hat on as well. He would appear as if 7'10" and THAT really is tall!
A las puertas les hace falta una manito de pintura!. mucho caballito, plumeros en la cabeza. Pero mantenimineto flojisimo!.
What are the top piece hair bonnets for?
The plume on their helmet is purely decoration
Not really. It was a way to identify others in your regiment at a distance. Cavalry tends to by its very nature, get scattered after an initial charge. It's hard to regroup if you don't know who are your guys and who are the enemy. Now, ofc, it's decorative but don't ever forget, what are now parade uniforms were once used in battle
Reminds me of Elf, with buddy lined up with the real elves. He's huge!
poor guy. it's gotta suck to have gigantism.
🙏👏🤩
😮😮😮😮 Wow hey, he is really tall. Is a tailor making his uniforms
Time to bring out the big guns.... not a chap you want to f**k with.
All british young men need some of this... the total lack of discipline in this country is starting to show more everyday. I'm sure going through some of this training would have a massive impact.
7ft ~ 2m my god 😮
My son is "only" 6ft 3".he wanted to be taller but hes just right way he is like this chap.wish schools had better egernomics for us though.he has to bend head to go through door and chairs tables dont help kyphosis.just as splendid as others.
when i was in the army in the 1960,s in the RCMP
there was a Corporal who was 7f-3inches tall
most unusual.
atb brian
The extra bit around i think is like a knee protector from days gone by when in a calvary charge it would prevent opposing side cutting your leg with their sabres thats how i see it and tradition carrys on
Those boots must be hell to walk in. They look like they’re marching with knees bent but I know they’re not.
Gosh I wish those tourists would get out of the way and stop messing up the place. It's like nongland.
i bet they call him shorty
Is that Ser Gregor Clegane?
Tienen....que estar ....la garganta ..de estos ....guardias ....de tantos ...gritos ... 🥵🥵🥵
Are you sure he is 7ft? I know Kareem is 7ft and he would be taller then that guy
Siempre hay turistas en el patio del palacio?? Nunca cierran las puertas????🙄🙄
Yes people ar growing taller, here my son is 1.96, I am 1.76 Holland 🌷
❤❤❤❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
In the land of Giants he would be a mini-me….
I have a question why does the civilian police act as the armed guards? Wouldn’t that be a job for the military police or armed regular clothed soldiers?
Heels apart at attention? Are they knock kneed? Or is their uniform an impediment to parade.
Goliath who? 😮
The guy is tall but he sure as hell ain't 7 foot tall.
Oh my God those kids crying just in time give them some marshmallows at least.
What/why is that cotton thing hanging down his helmet?
Why the guards slap the horses?
Years ago the police also had to be at least 6 feet tall.
Can someone please tell me why some of King Guard 💂 has red and some has gold on their hats
I bet his name is Andre.
Canadian watches lol he looks about 6ft 2-3 not 7ft lol
6.6
He is 6'8" with boots and his headdress he stands 7 even
these boots were not made for walking
Belgium horse??😊 he is normal tall
He's not 7 feet. I would say maybe 6 ft 6. No way is he 7 feet.
what are the police for ?
To guard the area. These are working soldiers . So many people think it’s a tourist attraction. It’s real, soldiers doing a job.
Those doughnuts won’t eat themselves
Crowd control. They're the ones shepherding people behind the barricades.
They are their to protect the soldiers, the civil police have authority.
To protect the soldiers? What? They protect their own selves.@@peterbrown1012
This makes our American guards look tiny…
He's not that much taller than the officers. Looks like they lined him up with the five shortest guys they could find. I suppose sometimes the guards have some fun.
Clegane??? Is that you?
El sujeto es un gigante 2.13 mts pobre caballo el que monte así de alto debe pesar igual
didnt see what you ment timestamps bro
He is about 6,4 no 7ft
