Funny how, picking up a TIG torch, handling a welding rod, and stomping the pedal takes me back to 1988. The sound. The smell. The arc lighting the puddle. Funny, I find myself running beads as a relaxing proposition. The old 250DX keeps my sanity.
Good idea on the Tom waters flip ups! And dang, tap tap tap with 7018! Building pipe fence last weekend run out of everything but 7018 so I was doing the tap tap tap.
Great sign Post Austin, should be a happy customer for sure. Thanks for sharing with us. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Good luck on filling your classes. Fred.
Great video, thank you! If you get your jack stands as close to the ends of the pipes as possible, your leveling will go quicker. You'll lessen the "see-saw" effect.
Putting in the long flat bar I usually would clamp a small piece of scrap to the bottom like a ledge that the ends can rest on and then tack the middle. I keep some vise clamps in the truck for occasions like that.
Austin, take a peek at the "Redi-line" generator. I came across one on the Ebay and was just thinking it would help on those 'ol SA welders when you want a little 120 VAC vs. VDC. See what you think.
I have a question, I'm wanting to start a little welding business in my shed. I'm looking at the titanium flux 125, or the titanium stick 225. Which one should I get or which one can get me the most jobs? Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
I wish I could find another SA-200 to buy that is not worn out. I would buy one that is a GOOD CANDIDATE for an overhaul. I sold mine to help finance my Real Estate Education. I wish I had not done that. The SA-200 with a Continental Engine is the ONLY thing that runs of Gasoline that I would buy other than a Chainsaw. This lousy Gasoline they make now, it seems a Continental Engine can take it. I think it is because it was made to run all over the world. I checked in to the 200 D machine, but so many people do NOT like them. They say they really don't really weld very well. I have NEVER used a 200-D. The 300 D is very popular but expensive and they tell ME the 300-D does NOT run small Electrodes very well. You know like a 3/32 or a 1/8 rod. I hate gasoline but I would buy a good Sa-200 in a minute. I had a 1962 Red Face machine. I bought it already on a truck, ran if 5 years and had it overhauled at Big Three Industries in Grand Prairie Texas. It was the SWEETEST welding machine ever after that. All copper machine, just nothing like All Copper. I would like another one like that. I used to build a LOT OF GATES and install them along with the operators and accompanying equipment. I build Cantilever gates, V-groove sliding gates, various "swing gates" etc. Ornamental "iron" and Pipe fences and so on. Some years back, I bought a BRAND NEW Lincoln Ranger 8 with an ONAN engine. it was a piece of CRAP from the first day. The engine could not STAND this GAS they make NOW. I finally quit throwing money at it. It only has about 400 hours on it, but it is sitting behind the barn, I will never put another dime in it. Lincoln WOULD NOT STAND BEIND IT EITHER. Onan went out of business, I really got a GOOD SCREWING on that piece of JUNK. It was almost bad enough to make me switch to Miller. I don't like Miller Portable machines. I have a Miller Dial-Arc Transformer Rectifier machine I bought in 1981, it is still a GREAT machine. But the Ranger 8 is a piece of junk.
I loved my Lincoln SA 200! Never had a welder that welded so slick!
The Sound of the Continental Gasoline Engine is the BEST sounding Gasoline engine there is and the Machines weld GREAT.
Enjoyed the video. Also liked the visit with Karen.
Nothing beats an SA 200! I love both of mine.... the sound when it idles up never gets old!
That’s the Harley of welding machines best sound

That reminded Me that I haven't used My SA 200 Short Hood in quite some time now. I ought to get it out.
Thank you for great advice and educational videos. I’m barely starting myself.
God bless.

Always amazed at how you use those Jack stands with such precision 👌

Been a fan for a while. Always enjoy your videos
I use 5\16 bit for by guide hole then use the taper reamer to get the rest of way. AS always pretty work
