This movie deserves much more recognition, as far as I can tell.
I'm astounded that Zahler is not recognized as the great filmmaker he is. His ability to create tension from damn great character setup is hard to find nowadays. Dragged Across Concrete should have been an awards contender, easy. Hollywood as we knew it is gone and is essentially spinning down the toilet. Great films will be only found in the haystacks of streaming companies now and rare theatrical debuts, ironically.
Love this movie. I have watched it multiple time. S. Craig Zahler should be praised for his directing, writing and standing up to producers who wish to reduce his work.

That's principal photography. Pre- and post-production is another beast altogether.
