    Thank you so much for this video! I was getting frustrated because my mic keep cutting off when I was speaking and was thinking it was the cable or the mic. This video saved me a ton of time returning and figuring out what the issue was.

    Do you need a preamp like cloudlifter cl-1 or triton fethead line preamp whenever using a rodecaster? I already have the Procaster and already ordered the rodecaster pro, i'm just wondering if it will still need preamps to boost the microphone audio so i can buy before the device arrives. Great stuff!

      Get one to get the best out of your mic and take a bit of the load off your preamp, but the rcp has its own preset for the procaster so you really don’t need one

    Guys, please help figure out the Audio ducking feature. I dont need to duck other mic’s, i need to duck audio from the USB, smartphone or even Bluetooth inputs. Like on live radio.

    Hey man! It’s me again, quick question with context first. I purchased the Rodecaster Pro because I wanted use it for streaming, and I had a dual pc step. I ended up returning it in the end because I couldn’t resolve an issue.
    Setup:
    I had the usbc cable connected to my Gaming rig, and I sent the audio from the Rodecaster to the streaming rig. Then, I sent audio from the streaming rig (donation sounds and such) to the Rodecaster and used one of the 3.5 mm inputs on the back. However, the audio from the streaming rig played to those within ingame chat, and discord.
    After speaking with SweetWater, we determined that the audio was being sent out through the usb-c connection, and took over my mic input; it was like both my voice and the streaming PCs audio specifically.
    I tested this out with Bluetooth and the sound pads, and it did the same thing. Do you know if there is a way to prevent incoming audio, not the audio coming from the USBC, but form other sources, from playing through the usbc mic input??
    I hope I made sense.

    Hello. I've been using the podcaster pro for phone interviewing and playing music from my computer and pads. Huge problem is the individuals I interview on phone can not hear the music I play from my computer or from the podcaster pads. Any serious advice?

      all you need to do is : once the call is in effect, switch the setting on your phone from "speaker" to "rode caster" ..this should solve it....

    I just purchased my Rode Procaster today 5/15/21 and the effects edit mode is not in my advanced settings. Has the capability been moved or taken away? I need to adjust my noise gate and do not seem to have the option. Any guidance is appreciated.

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Heather, just to confirm have you turned on effects edit mode? Settings > Advanced > Audio > Processing > Effects Edit Mode?

    • @HeatherMajors
      @HeatherMajors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rodemic Hi, it turns out those settings are not available in the Rodecaster itself. What I may have missed or was not clear in the video was the edit effects mode needed to be turned on in the companion app. I share this only for those who may have the same question. I am up and running now. Thank you for your time and assistance.

    Nice vid. I’m new to this so can you tell me what the sliders do versus changing the gain in settings? For instance if on channel 1 I set the gain at 30. What do I set the slider at to match that level? Then my next question is does the notches represent plus or minus 1 db? Im guessing it’s to make small adjustments on the fly? Or fade out? Sorry for the dumb question.

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey David, great questions. This video might actually be more helpful to you: th-cam.com/video/9WSAR4I2qgY/w-d-xo.html. But essentially, once the channel fader is set to unity (the bold line in the middle of the channel markings), we'd recommend doing the fine tuning of each channel's settings in here (including levels). As you get the hang of it, slight reactive adjustments can be made directly to the sliders if need be on the fly. In terms of the dbs on the channel fader markings, there is not a linear scale that these follow, as the precise settings are done in the touchscreen menu. Hope that can help clarify!

      @@rodemic thanks for the response! I take it more or less then it’s for on the fly adjustments to fade in or volume up while recording then? I’m only confirming because I intend to use this for two purposes. as a podcast recorder where the levels aren’t as important per say, and as a voice over recorder in a controlled treated room when doing voice over. From what you’re saying it sounds like leaving the slider at the unity level and adjusting the gain in settings when recording VO will work fine

    Hey road I love your products and you're a great company honestly I love your microphones you think you can make a portable version of your roadcaster like a device that's made for podcasting on the go even one with only two ports and four hot keys and make it simple to use so I could simply put it in my backpack have to park mike's me to stands one air roadster mini that is a battery charged I can integrate the battery for like 18 hours and service straight for example like a battery Banking and make it simple and affordable I would love it and I would buy it and thank you in advance

    Hello,
    the standard settings on the RCP for the attack time is 158ms.
    In the beginning I thought this might be way to high, but since I adjusted it to the suggested level in this video, around 5ms, it does a very unnatural sound when the speaker is breathing in before speking. I am not sure what I doing wrong, but I just had a recording and I am not satisfied at all with the noise gate.
    Weirdly it sounds better with a higher attack time, but still I am not sure if the 150ms are way to long. Please help :(
