I have golfed maybe four times in my life. Bought some clubs with the intent to get into it about four years ago and I've used said clubs about as many times. That said, I decided to head to the driving range with a friend today. Not wanting to look like a complete imbecile I went on the internet for some tips and found your videos. I'm a long way for getting on the PGA tour but I hit the ball better than I ever have today and wanted to thank you for taking the time to make these videos! You may have helped me get over my frustrations with the game and quite possibly find a new passion. Thanks and keep up the good work!
yes this is the best golf video ever, except maybe johnny miller on irons, but for drivers this is best. I adapted this to my 3 wood (fairway) on the tee. Straight line!
This video has changed my game! That feeling of your arms being pinned, connecting the takeaway and breaking with arm club at a 90 made a WORLD of difference. I tried this with my driver, woods, hybrid and irons (with obvious stance changes from driver to irons) and I tracked my last round. Hit the fairway 70%, which is up 25%. And the distance and direction have completely changed. I made gir on almost every hole. Love these videos. I'll be working on the second half of the video this week. I tried doing everything you show us in a given video and I find myself overthinking and screwing up my essentials. Another great video.
Love the channel guys, thanks for all your effort! I'm 31 and have been golfing off and on since I was 15. At 15 I was playing 3-6 games a week. I broke my hand 2 years in a row at ages 17 and 18, the second break required surgery and pins. I was golfing in the low 80's before the first break and started golfing in the high 90's low 100's afterwords. I started playing a lot less after the surgery (I average 4-6 games a year since then) about 3 years ago I bumped my gameplay up and started playing 1-2 times a month and was able to bring my score under 100 consistently. Then I was in a vehicle accident that caused the detachment of the retina in my right eye (my dominate eye) my vision in that eye is now 20/800 compared to the 20/20 vision I had before the accident. I have since gotten contacts for my right eye and this has helped a bit. I bought my wife a set of golf clubs last week and took her golfing for her first time. I think I was more frustrated trying to help her all day, then she was trying to learn all day. I was frustrated with myself not her. I hadn't realized how little I actually knew about the mechanics of a golf swing. I didn't know how to help her or how I had ever managed to finish a game in the 80's. I came across your channel the night after her first game. We went out back with the iPad and an iPhone and started going through the drills from your videos and recording our swings in slow motion. I appreciate all the effort you guys put into making these videos. I feel like I'm improving a little bit everyday, we have been hitting woofle and foam balls out back all week. We plan to watch and work through 1 video a day, then add private lessons to the equation in a couple months. I always justified my poor gameplay with an excuse "my game has never been the same since the hand surgery" or "I'm blind in my right eye, I can't see the ball how can I expect to hit it well" after discovering this channel my only excuse is "I don't know how to swing the club" lol, thanks for the eye opener. Keep doing what your doing guys, I appreciate it all!
I just want to say thank you for being so patient and re-explaining such basic information for the "everyday" golfer. I have begun seriously looking into a new set of clubs and getting back into golf as a great means of getting out doors and getting fit. And most importantly having some fun with it all instead of being frustrated all the time.
I am very late to the game of golf but have recently fallen in love with it at a charity tournament I was a part of last weekend. I’ve learned I’m not naturally terrible and thanks to all these videos I’m feeling more confident by the day. Hawaii has always been a beautiful place to live but now I can enjoy it in a new way thanks to golf and your wonderful TH-cam channel!

I'm 22 and I've been golfing more and more in the last year or 2, dropping my score each year. I have the power and technique to pitch 145 yards consistently, landing the ball within 15 yards to the left or right of my target 7 out of 10 times, while being able to use my 4/5 hybrid to hit the ball 200+ yards (distances courtesy of golfpad app on my phone). My drive has always been my most inconsistent part of my game, most times having to hit my second shot from a fairway I shouldn't be on, meaning I push my drive a solid 100 yards to the right of where I am very consistently. Because of my terrible drive, I've had to compensate with a great short game. This year has been dedicated to improving my drive with confidence I can play par-bogey golf with a consistent drive. This was a phenomenal video on the basics I never learned in driving and I will definitely be sharing results of my season on this youtube channel. You 2 were great and thanks for the tips! Hitting 1000 balls a week with these tips, I'm sure I'll have this drive fixed in no time.
Guys I like the new layout splitting the screen for both views at the same time and the graphics does help with seeing the problems you are pointing out. Keep up the good work as we discuss each video in our lunch hour in the office which ends up with a lot of demos of the drill's to help each other..
I live in a small town in the states and we lack local golf instructors. I am trying to introduce my boys to golf and found your instructional videos while browsing TH-cam. Your videos are great! They are allowing me to help my boys learn a good swing in the absence of a local instructor, and I am learning a lot from them as well. Thank you very much for posting all of the great content.
Took those tips to the range yesterday, and had immediate success. Been struggling with my driver immensely, and now bring it back and through with confidence. Thanks guys!
Hey guys. Just a suggestion. The Part where Piers actually hits the shot doing the drill should be in slow motion, and also if possible from front view as well. It would really help a lot if you guys could do this, watching good examples in slow-mo is as important as watching the flaw of the person you are trying to correct in slow-mo in my opinion. Because when I look at the flaw example in slow mo I get feedback by seeing how it looks what he is doing wrong in slow-mo, and afterwards I understand your explanation, but I dont get full visual feedback because Im trying to pause the video to see how Piers does it when he actually hits it. Thanks a lot for all your videos guys. Long time fan and lurker. Jose
This was great, thanks, I have been researching "powerful golf swing" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Graysonyon Putter Prolific - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
interesting points ,if anyone else is searching for golf video tips try Nadazma Amazing Golf Helper (just google it ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy got great success with it.
This is just superb, I been tryin to find out about "how to putt a golf ball step by step" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Graysonyon Putter Prolific - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.
Just discovered you guys and I can't wait to hit the range to work on some of the things I've learned from you. You guys do an incredible job explaining each situation. thx.
Very informative video. I have been playing golf for about 2 years now and do not have a handicap yet. I shoot somewhere between 95 and 105. This winter (Canada burrr) I have done the same sort of practice in the basement using an old driver and a 7 iron. What I have done is drilled a hole in the end of the shaft and inserted a small laser pointer. That way I see that I am following the target line and that the plane stays the same also the shaft is parallel and straight on the up swing. Works really well. Don
This video helped so much other videos have given me little tips and drills but never broken down a swing all the way through as you have demonstrated here.
My scores have been going up because I lost my driver mojo. I have to tell you that your videos really shed the light on what I was doing wrong. I have tried your drills and can't wait to go and play golf. You guys make a great team. Clear videos great audio and explanations. Well done guys
Meandmygolf Hi Andy and Piers - Tom here commenting from my own TH-cam channel (cheeky plug!). Firstly thanks very much for your time and analysis of my swing. What you've put together here is super insightful and informative, so really appreciate that! The drills look really workable too and it's great that I can practice these anywhere. Having not had a lesson since I was a young junior, I'm excited to have some swing thoughts to work on, and not self diagnosed ones either! I'll be posting regular updates and swing videos on my channel, so keep your eyes peeled to hopefully see your drills come to fruition!
Great Video indeed, I think this is exactly my problem with the driver as well, either over-drawing (hook) or pushing straight to the right. Thanks for the drills guys!
Spare Time Thomas Hi Tom. Hope this helps you. You have an already great swing. If you can get the club on plane and maintain posture better, it will certainly help. they go hand in hand really. keep us posted on your progress and this year will be good i am sure.
Hi Andy and Piers, I have just started playing, and am having lessons. I just wanted to leave a comment to say that I think your channel is absolutely fantastic and incredibly helpful to a beginner. You go through everything with such precision yet it comes across in such a concise and simple to understand way. Keep up the good work and thanks for the great videos. Jeremy
very well explained, very enjoyable to watch, I'm coming back to golf after years of not playing, all my irons today went well, straight and on target, my 5 wood also straight as a dye and long too, but when I came to the driver, well, it was flying of to the right every time (long right handed curve) I am a right hander.
Great vid gents! This was something my golf coach and I worked on a bit this past year. He actually had me practice with an alignment rod, placing the rounded end basically in my belly button and then work on the backswing to the point of setting my hands at the top. Doing this helped keep my arms, hands and the club all connected in the backswing. Keep up the great work guys...really enjoy all the content.
you guys are awesome. I love that you give clear, concise instruction, and I find it very humorous when you hit a shot after explaining everything because you make it look so easy lol.
Excellent instructional videos which have been quite helpful to my whole family! My wife, son, and I have taken well to the drills and tips. The video using the erasable marker is BRILLIANT! Cheers from Michigan!
just getting started and I really find your videos useful. I'm playing almost daily and find that your instructions are very applicable. great job. keep up the good work.
Thanks for this info. Had real problems lately with snappy shots and even pushed shots! Lowered my hands felt like I'm picking up the club on takeaway and hitting fairways for fun. Best tip I've had off the tee! Needed after years off the game. Thanks
Thanks gents. I love your positive approach and clear helpful approach, where you highlight what can be done better rather than what's wrong. Please keep up the good work.
That was actually my exact problem! And I fixed it exactly the same way too. Pay attention to the shoulder rotating through impact as well as the other key points brought up. It is a very difficult change and took several sessions of adjustments, losing distance, and shanks to eventually start to feel a little more comfortable!
Meandmygolf Hi Andy and Piers, the advise in this video sounds to me a little bit contrary what you liked in the "New Swing of Tiger". You liked the "less wrist set" and "higher hands in finish". Now you gave the advise to have more wrist set and a lower finish. Maybe I misunderstood something. I fully agree with the disconnection of the arms and the body in the backswing and the early extension. Your drill to fix both issues is great!
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to uncover golf videos tips try Nadazma Amazing Golf Helper (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my colleague got amazing success with it.
This is great, been struggling with driver and my swing looks identical to Toms. Looking forward to applying these drills. This 7 years old video is what I needed 💪
After nearly throwing my Clubs in a Lake and getting fed up of my swing slowly going down the pan, this video has sorted me out ,and can knock my 3 iron arrow straight and Looooong, driver coming along nicely too. Thank you.
Fantastic video guys! I love watching your material! The connected takeaway portion of this video is so well done. With Winter in full swing here in Canada (lots of snow and cold temperatures), I'm glad I can take these drills inside to the simulator during the off-season and work to improve. I will continue to work on the connected takeaway that you illustrate here Piers along with the setup drill you both did with your student Abigail last year (right hand off of the club at address - put it at your side - and create that shoulder tilt at address). From there it should be much easier for me to coil on my backswing and keep that lower body stable and right knee flexed! Keep up the great work!
Hello. I found out your video is very useful. It explains the swing a lot to me. There is a only a few good videos in youtube about how to do properly the swing.
Exactly what I needed. I'm a bit rusty after not playing for a couple years. When I played 18 this past week I was maddeningly inconsistent. I have something to work on at the range now. Thanks a bunch! -Brandon
Cannot explain how much this video has helped me.. Not dead straight yet but a lot straighter .. Cheers guys 👍🏼 carry on with the great videos ..I need as much help as I can get
Great video ,I hope this will help me get a better and further drive , I am going to put all of your tips and advice into practice. Thanks Dave Straughan
Thanks guys! Saw my swing on video this weekend and while i seem to be able to generally hit the ball with a slight draw or sometimes duck hook, it's seriously ugly, all hands and my back swing is almost vertical. This video instruction was super super helpful and I have something to work with.
This is an amazingly detailed video. You guys always go above and beyond with your analysis. I'm grateful for this video. I also have a problem with a sharp fade. I'm going to practice this and I'll let you know the results.
I saw this video 3 times. and saw that I was not turning my hands. I probably added 35 yes to my drive and they went hell of a lot straighter. very happy with the results. thanks guys, great videos and instructions! !!!!!!!
Exact problem I've got. I'll give it a try. My draw ( hook really) was so prominent I just started playing it. Dogleg right just not happening. Was aware of headcover drill but too stubborn to try it until now. I also had the connection issue. Thank you guys.
Thanks for another great demonstration of how to improve our golf. I could definitely use lots of practice with your "brush the floor " drill even for this early extender senior golfer.
Was spraying a bit and noticed I was disconnected on the down swing. Did the brush drill and really started to feel my self staying in the shot more and pured 10 balls in a row. Great video cheers!!
On the golf course there is no time to think all about the good posture, swing, impact etc . Brush the floor propably safe my game on the tees :) Thanks for this video guys :)
Another great intuative video guys, this coupled with the wrist angle impact drill has upped my consistency. Still a lot of work to get down to 10 by August!
This is good. I have trouble with duck hooks with driver. Odd, since it doesn't happen with long irons. I know I come from too far inside and in trying this drill whacked the head cover a lot. I made the corrections you suggested and i am hitting it much better.
Great drill. Helped me identify why I was slicing the ball with the driver. Saw immediate results. I was able to hit a straight and power fade drive 265-285 yards.
I have golfed maybe four times in my life. Bought some clubs with the intent to get into it about four years ago and I've used said clubs about as many times. This is simply the best lesson to hit the driver in the right swing plane and correct shoulder and hip turn. Simply the best lesson.

Cheers guys, will do!
Quality videos since waaaay back! you guys are awesome, thanks for all you help!
Awesome pair of instructors, clear and to the point with homework to do after watching their explanations.

you guys are awesome. I love that you give clear, concise instruction, and I find it very humorous when you hit a shot after explaining everything because you make it look so easy lol.
Thanks so much guys! I am improving all the time with the instructions that you put out there. Makes for a very enjoyable sport!

Great video guys. Really useful having the side by side videos too, much easier to understand what is going on.
Jamiem13 Glad that helped. Will do that more often.
Good video. I had these same faults. Learning to keep my right foot planted and rolling inwards helped for me.
Thanks gents. I love your positive approach and clear helpful approach, where you highlight what can be done better rather than what's wrong. Please keep up the good work.
Michael Rolton Thanks Michael. Hope this is helping? Please let us know and get posting your questions.
love your vids 2.5 years playing golf! youre tips are great
Excellent drills, especially the two downswing drills. Huge benefit to my swing. Great works guys!
Hi guys,
Your driving tips have helped me endlessly!! I feel like I owe you...... A lot!!!
Cheers
Adam.
+ADAM GRIEVES Great Adam. You are very welcome.
Well done fellas. I've been looking for a diagnosis to these symptoms. Very well drawn out and explained.
That was actually my exact problem! And I fixed it exactly the same way too. Pay attention to the shoulder rotating through impact as well as the other key points brought up. It is a very difficult change and took several sessions of adjustments, losing distance, and shanks to eventually start to feel a little more comfortable!
I use the brush the floor exercise all the time and my drives got so much better. Good work fellas.
Wonderful drill to understand the takeaway, posture, and when to set the wrist for a perfect drive.
Thanks guys, the staying connected is a very good tip. I have been disconnected for many many years. Cant wait to try it on the range.
+Daryl Anliker Hope it helps.
Great video, thanks for these tips!
Another great video guys! Great insight combined with very clear instruction all communicated in a warm a friendly way! Excellent! Thanks
Martin Moore Thanks Martin. Thanks for the interaction and feedback.
I feel like a better golfer just by watching this! Will try these techniques next time on the course. Thanks!
There's a lotta videos out there, but this is the one that helped me fix my drive. Thanks guys.
Great mark.
I'm investigating how to play golf better and found a fantastic website at Gavs golf tactic (look it up on google)
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to uncover golf videos tips try Nadazma Amazing Golf Helper (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my colleague got amazing success with it.
This is great, been struggling with driver and my swing looks identical to Toms. Looking forward to applying these drills. This 7 years old video is what I needed 💪
this is exactly what i need right now! 8 handicap at the moment with a strange case of the draws.... cheers guys
After nearly throwing my Clubs in a Lake and getting fed up of my swing slowly going down the pan, this video has sorted me out ,and can knock my 3 iron arrow straight and Looooong, driver coming along nicely too. Thank you.
Excellent swing plane explanation! Thx a million from NZ
Great video! You guys make the drill and swing thoughts very easy to understand. Thank you!

Your instructions are a great help, thanks.
Thank you both, great video explained simply, this creates simple swing thoughts for all golfers.
Adrian Harrison Great Adrian. Hope it helps.
Super efficient class. Thanks fellas.
Exact problem I've got. I'll give it a try. My draw ( hook really) was so prominent I just started playing it. Dogleg right just not happening. Was aware of headcover drill but too stubborn to try it until now. I also had the connection issue. Thank you guys.
Well done video, I learn useful tips on each lesson. Your techniques are easy to understand and use at the range or course. Thanks!
Now I understand a little bit more why I do both of the things you highlighted. I will practise the controlled back swing.
Thanks for another great demonstration of how to improve our golf. I could definitely use lots of practice with your "brush the floor " drill even for this early extender senior golfer.
Ted Cummings Thanks Ted. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great breakdown. Exactly what i was looking for guys
i love the brits. you guys are great instructors. solid cheers gents. ill buy tbe first round of pints
Another great intuative video guys, this coupled with the wrist angle impact drill has upped my consistency. Still a lot of work to get down to 10 by August!

thank you guys so much. ive just started playing golf here in florida. this was a great help!
This is one of your best videos for me
Awesome, cant wait to try these. Thanks guys
excellent advice! very easy to follow tips. makes so much sense.
Great advice guys...going to give it a go during tomorrow morning's round.
