Mat’s lining up in the McLaren 600LT and he’s about to face off against a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ!
Now on the face of it, you may think this will be an easy win for the Lambo. After all, under the bonnet, you’ll find an almighty 6.5-litre V12 that can put down 770hp & 720Nm of torque! What’s more, it’s also equipped with AWD and isn’t too heavy, tipping the scales at 1,525kg.
In comparison, the McLaren is ‘only’ packing a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 600hp and 620Nm. It may be lighter, at 1,404kg, but it’s also only equipped with RWD!
Surely the Lamborghini is going to obliterate the McLaren then, right? There’s only one way to find out for sure - LET’S RACE!

I had to rewind the video seeing how well that 600LT shot off during the first drag race; truly mindblowing levels of grip & traction control. SVJ is a beast but you can't ignore the level of engineering that went into McLarens.

That lambo guy wasn't even launching it properly. They usually do 10.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile. That could be a big difference in the distances
Not really...if count the drag of the SVJ, his weight, the single clutch and the N/A engine; you'll realize that it's not very impressive

I don't think this launch is really incredible. I mean this is awd and you can surely expect something more from that, a lot of traction issues. And Mclaren for RWD did indeed a great job, beating awd says pretty much everything.
As much as I love the Aventador, its launches really aren't that good. They're violent, sure, but not very rapid. Too much wheelspin. Wish it had straight-line performance to match its looks.

Of all the 3 round drag races in this series, I am pretty sure this was by far the closest match-up: both cars are neck and neck for the most part. Superb!

really nice drag race this morning. considering that the svj is pretty much the best lambo has to offer and then see that mclaren is just the 600lt kinda speaks for itself. I really like the editing work to make such a funny story out of that gopro fail. keep it up!

@@essayedgar Its the quickest car they have. Name another Lambo that can match it. Drag race or on the track. The Centenario, SCV12 and Veneno are the only ones I can think of. But the SCV12 is track use only and there's less than 10 Veneno's in the world, plus I'm pretty sure the SVJ is faster than the Veneno. Centenario is crazy but I haven't seen any track times with it to compare it to the SVJ

The Veneno has a better power to weight ratio than the Centenario and SVJ. It should be the quickest accelerating road Lamborghini. I believe the Centenario should be the fastest at higher speeds.
If the SC18 Alston weighs the same as the Veneno, then it should be quicker. I believe it has 800hp.

This particular SVJ does worse times than the ones we've seen on this channel. Don't know if it's because of the abuse this particular one has been getting
Mark messed up the third launch. You can see that he reacted almost a second slower that Matt. That's how the 600LT got in front and stayed there. Otherwise if he had launched as perfectly as his second launch, the SVJ would have won. These two cars are perfectly matched in terms of pace. Once one car is in front, the gap doesn't change at all. It all boils down to reaction times. Matt does this for a living. He has gotten very good at reacting now.

First of all a huge thanks to Marc for being such a gem for bringing is glorious SVJ. However I'm not quite sure it's performing at its best, an SVJ should easily do a 10.4 second quarter mile which we've seen here from the other white SVJ which Yianni was driving. Marc maybe you should get it checked if there is some issue with your beast. But I still thoroughly enjoy you bringing your SVJ every time🥂 👍👍

@@supergv2235 it depends on the track really, if it has a long straights then svj but if it has a lot of short straights and corners that requires more paddle engagement then 600lt

Facts. In the other races along with the Porsche 911, the lambo did a 1/4 mile of 10.4 sec. He isn't launching it properly. In a clear matchup, the lambo could trash that 600lt

Extremely impressive considering this is the spider.600lt is about 200k cheaper and about 150kg lighter,so a simple stage 1 tune would gap the F out of the svj
A simple stage 1 tune would have destroy the mclaren after 500 kilometers of driving. Original, it supposedly starts to fall apart after 3.000 kilometers.

The best quarter mile time for the svj is 10.4 seconds the best time in this video for the svj was 11 seconds it could've done a lot better in the drag race of this video if launched properly and if the gear shifts were on point
İt is all about surface. Look at the last drag races with 911 turbo s. İt is about 10.4 mark. While the older videos 911 turbo s was consistently running 10.2

No way would it be putting that much power down to the wheels. At the flywheel this car makes 620bhp and at the wheels it's closer to 600bhp.

Edit: and the so called "lightweight package" only drops 30 kgs but the car suddenly becomes 2 seconds faster from 0-150 mph than standard and does 9 second 1/4 mile times :)
