Bought my girlfriend a 2023 Honda NC750 x, after 600 miles both fork seals failed. When I took it in for warranty service, Honda dealership said it might not be covered. Should have seen their faces when I loudly explained that my two cheap Chinese origin bikes had at least ten time the miles each, a lot more crappy conditions during the mileage and neither one of them had leaking fork seals and both bikes together cost less than the one Honda. You are right, these brands that charge so much and can not deliver need to be held responsible for the crap they pass off as good motorcycles. If they can not fix "Their" issues, its time to move one from the model or the brand. Hope you like the new 390, the concept looked good, just hope it comes with what was shown and the reliability the buyers deserve.

@@jpaulie2008 So true !!!!! I have a nice farkeled bike that I paid 11k with nothing on it. And in the morning starts like a Volga. It's not fair and I am frustrated because I work hard for every euro I make. That 390 would be the last chance for KTM. If I will have the same problems I will buy CF Moto. Thank you for watching !!!

Sorry to hear that brother. If you want reliability get a T7, AT, CRF300 , HIMY... big or small, depends on you and how you are going to use it.
I was getting a bike when I came to Australia and found many 2nd hand 790, gorgeous bikes. I found one and had to put a down payment over the phone witha dealer and guess what... transaction didn't go through... total of 4 times in 2 different days thank god I gave up. found out about the camshaft issue after that so was not disappointed at all. The NO.1 on top of my list your list was reliability, NOT suspension, NOT POWER, etc... When you ride solo, no cell phone coverage in the bush, you don't want to have your bike that fails on you. Just my 2 cents...Good luck!

My heart breaks for you brother, bought my 890 for the Adventure but after the Cam shaft debacle etc I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend the money of the suspension upgrade needed for my next trip, Seriously anticipating using the savings for all the upgrades and looking for A 2022 0 mile GS, Really Don't want to, but also don't want to be left stranded on the Swedish TeT or the Greek ACT, Stay Strong and Ride safe 👍

Bummer to habe that feeling my friend. I have never had these problems with my 790 or 890 så i'm confident with my beast. If you go for the 390, it would be more of a question if You like that platform. I have tedtrided the 390 Adventure (non R) and was quiet impressed, even if that model felt like an adventurised commuter. But fully ADV capable. We could expect the 390 R to be alot better suited for ADV. Will be nice to test it when it arrives to the floor. Nice vid man and like honest topics like this.

That problems you talk about, could be possible to be on 390, the electronics are totaly new.
You've bought it in second hand you will not loose too much, i bought it new my concern of selling it it's bigger, before the 890 i had a T7, almost didn't loose any money and enjoy it for a year and half, but after i ride my friends 890 i decide i need to have one, i was thinking to buy the new 790, but the dealer offered me a good proposel for a 890 that was almost impossible to refuse.
The winter is coming for you, in my country it's the riding season for me, in the summer to much hot and dust, so you have time, wait for the comments and for people o will buy it first, if it will be a problematic bike they will show soon, and i can't trust that exhaust, unless they change the position.
Lately mine it's also starting in one cylinder...,

The BMW its a prototype, let's see how the final product will come.
The problem with this bike's it's the A2, they could make so much better bikes if they don't rely on the A2.

All those niggles - that's why I skipped KTM. In comments I got red cards for questioning KTM's reliability from orange heads. But the funny thing: no headwind for Mr. Trunkenpolz of KTM when he said they do have quality problems, indeed ;-) In short - when I want to ride the bikes MUST work flawlessly. So I ended up with a used Honda CRF 300 L. No problems over 5.000 km, except a puncture on the rear tyre last week. But the Honda has not enough adrenaline for you, Dragos ;-) I must impressed by the AJP PR7 four weeks ago on gravel. If you can try the Kove 450 Rally I would give it a go. For the kind of tracks over here way too fast, what a pity. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg

well ... sorry to be saying this but ur screwd ! the 890/ 790 platform is a disaster. Especially the older models 2019 - 2022. They started fixing it starting 2023. Updated dash , cilinder head. The camshaft issue is by far the most worrysome. Having to pay up for repairs aroud 3000 euros and 6 months wait time for parts is a shitshow. Also u ll have to be at peace that if u wanna sell that , u will have to seriously lower price , becase ppl are running away from those models ... i m still glad i stuck around the Honda crf 300L and done some mods ( that bike is bulletproof ). Wating for the CF moto 800 MT - X. It looks promising and seem to be better built . The chinese seem to have learned ktm lessons and built better bikes. it sucks balls to get out on a trail and worry all the time you won t reach the end bc of a fault . that thought would haunt me :))). move on to a better bike , early 890 shit the bed and dissapointed a lot of ppl. KTM in general is not doing well , maybe move to another brand for now , until they get their shit done.

Sell it… it’s not a reliable bike and they will never be able to do a reliable bike. Remember their motto is ready to race not ready for adventure. If your adventure is the backyard they are fine…if you plan a real adventure trip crossing several countries, then they are not the right bikes.
As you know the coming 990 which will replace this model will no longer have the same fuel tank hence weight distribution (which is one of the best thing they did).
    390 is a mono....forget about it.

Welcome to KTM. This is the most race-ready bike with the best handling for aggressive riding, but little problems (and not so little) comes with the package. I'm selling my 990 adv and will never buy from KTM again. And no, this is a cheap bike made in China, they just sell it expensive! My 990 at least is with Brembo brakes and YASA battery. Also KTM announced that they will sell parts only for 10 years, and then parts will start disappearing from stocks. Do not buy the 390, stay with this one, or move to another brand! KTM do not deserve our money.
