Nathan Terry Absolutely wonderful!! I just sat there with my jaw agape for the first half of the show. Was my first time seeing him and I wasn’t disappointed! I saw him upclose too!
No other album speaks so directly to any soul who has ever been in - and out - of love. And it’s meaning has evolved throughout my life, with each new experience. Blood on the Tracks is nothing short of a genius-level masterpiece.
I have been listening to Dylan Since 1965 , But when this Album ( Blood On The Tracks) came out in 1975 , I Was Hopelessly Hooked, And I Have Been Ever Since, It's Seems As Though He Covers, Every Single Emotion, Failure And Triumph I've Ever Experienced! THANKS BOB!
40 years of Bob now,I was 18 years my Dad died suddenly, and this Man learned me how to keep going,LOVE ALWAYS to you Robert Zimmerman ♥️ From Glasgow,Scotland
Brandon Young More Blood More Tracks is amazing! I can’t believe he had stuff this good and didn’t bother releasing it. My favorite BD song is Up To Me and the version on this bootleg is even better. There’s no end to the depths of this man’s music!
He literally could have gone to press with an album of first takes back in the day and we would have been singing praises still. This was a long time coming and well worth the wait
this is marvelous. he honed it even more, became more authoritative in the final version, nailed perhaps the greatest harp part he ever played - but this has a lovely wistfulness its own self.
Beautiful poetry set to music. It takes a great talent to be able to express one's feelings in such an elegant way. There is love, passion, feeling of loss and emptiness when you thought that you found that other half of the apple only to realize that she is gone. Looking for the love of one's life seems to be the essence of living
So cool of Bob to share this early, unpolished(as compared to the album track) version of this masterpiece. This is the ultimate songwriting lesson I could ever stumble upon. I have a sudden desire to work on some of my first takes that I'd pretty much abandoned before they had a chance of getting somewhere... :)
Yes. My favorite part of my youth's freedom was a few years living with musicians being there as a song developed from a simple couple of chords, or a few words ~ which eventually grew before me as a 🌱 seedling into a blooming 🌹 Rose. It is an honor to be there as it is Creation, a Soul's expression of a moment in time, the Heart's emotions added becoming infinite. Words come difficult ~
@@royferguson3909 was Bob Dylan something special before anybody knew of him? Kind of like if a tree fell in a forest, and nobody was there - did it still make a sound?
You are 1000% right. I bought the record early in 1975 and have heard it often since. I love all the songs but to me Simple Twist of Fate, Tangled Up In Blue and Idiot Wind mean a lot.
When I first heard the album in my early 20's, I couldn't understand the hype at all especially compared to the early folk stuff, and the rock. I actually remember thinking it was such a disappointment with the amount of hype I had heard of it after being so excited when I first listened... Ten years later and it is up there with the very best
They sat together in the park As the evening sky grew dark She looked at him and he felt a spark Tingle to his bones 'Twas then he felt alone And wished that he'd gone straight And watched out for a simple twist of fate They walked along by the old canal A little confused, I remember well And stopped into a strange hotel With a neon burnin' bright He felt the heat of the night Hit him like a freight train Moving with a simple twist of fate A saxophone someplace far-off played As she was walkin' on by the arcade As the light bust through a beat-up shade Where he was waking up She dropped a coin into the cup Of a blind man at the gate And forgot about a simple twist of fate He woke up, the room was bare He didn't see her anywhere He told himself he didn't care Pushed the window open wide Felt an emptiness inside To which he just could not relate Brought on by a simple twist of fate He hears the ticking of the clocks And walks along with a parrot that talks Hunts her down by the waterfront docks Where the sailors all come in Maybe she'll pick him out again How long must he wait? One more time, for a simple twist of fate People tell me it's a sin To know and feel too much within I still believe she was my twin But I lost the ring She was born in spring But I was born too late Blame it on a simple twist of fate
I seen Bob Dylan back east in his early days and later on at least five times and he was great no one can beat Dylan out he's the best in the hottest and the poet so don't blow it I wish I was back in New York to see him at the Beacon Theater but I'm not hopefully I'll see you soon Bob
Grand auteur, grand compositeur, et grand interprète. Ceux qui disent qu'il chante mal se trompent : il fait ce qu'il veut avec sa voie. Et grand album : mon préféré, il n'a pas pris une ride ! Thank you Mister DYLAN !
"He hears the clicking of the clocks/ and walks around with a parrot that talks..." I've been listening to this album for thirty years and didn't understand what these line meant until the last five.
Wow Bob!! This song, you are one of my top favorite of all times, melodic poets!!! The timing on this video and how much this resonates for me right now. Intense! Thank you for gracing the world with your passionate poetic soul's presence!
I don’t know why this song enter inside me like a “ corkscrew “ in my heart (it’s a wonderful metaphor he used in You are a big girl now) It always touches me in a particular way. It sounds like a defeat. But that expectation of another simple twist of fate, seems to leave a chance to the lovers. The open window is a symbol of hope. Who knows maybe they will meet again. Who knows maybe they will meet again for another simple twist of fate. I'm also waiting for my Simple Twist of fate in December, the ship travel is very long from Us
My favorite song. I love when Bob creates alternate lyrics, like "People tell me it's a crime to remember her for too long a time, she should have met me in my prime, she would have stayed of me, instead of going off to sea leaving me to meditate upon a simple twist of fate". These words are from the "Budokan" recording but I love them all.
Always believed there was someone perfect out there for me. My very own soul-mate/twin. But I've never met her. I guess 'She was born in spring and I was born too late'. Thank you Bog Dylan for putting my entire, imperfect love-life into just 11 words.
Many live in the gardens of fate many drown deep in seas of regret then their are some who can translate their pain and hope through song and only one can weave pain love lost hope like Bob Dylan and survive the gossip in life. Wow this album is more original then the first official album. Thankyou Bob Dylan Vevo you made my Friday ☺☀.
This song alone I find applicable in my life. Your music stirs my soul. Even your guitar strumming, same as mine. But this song, about left it right, yes or no, brings on that simple twist of fate. I love you Bobby

Blood on the Tracks hits me EVERY TIME I listen to it, and I listen to it often.
What a masterpiece.🖤🖤🖤
He nailed it on Take 1.
Blood on the tracks returns me on an old, painful journey that I endured decades ago. Those memories will always have a searing intensity.

the most beautiful Bob Dylan's song. the poetry, the life, the emptiness of the sky.

A twist of fate....
Never take for granted...
Mar 2019
I find this outtake version
better than the album version.
It is simpler.
They sat together in the park
As the evening sky grew dark
She looked at him and he felt a spark
Tingle to his bones
'Twas then he felt alone
And wished that he'd gone straight
And watched out for a simple twist of fate
They walked along by the old canal
A little confused, I remember well
And stopped into a strange hotel
With a neon burnin' bright
He felt the heat of the night
Hit him like a freight train
Moving with a simple twist of fate
A saxophone someplace far-off played
As she was walkin' on by the arcade
As the light bust through a beat-up shade
Where he was waking up
She dropped a coin into the cup
Of a blind man at the gate
And forgot about a simple twist of fate
He woke up, the room was bare
He didn't see her anywhere
He told himself he didn't care
Pushed the window open wide
Felt an emptiness inside
To which he just could not relate
Brought on by a simple twist of fate
He hears the ticking of the clocks
And walks along with a parrot that talks
Hunts her down by the waterfront docks
Where the sailors all come in
Maybe she'll pick him out again
How long must he wait?
One more time, for a simple twist of fate
People tell me it's a sin
To know and feel too much within
I still believe she was my twin
But I lost the ring
She was born in spring
But I was born too late
Blame it on a simple twist of fate
Thank you for posting this
He's so good here. He's fantastic.
