Every time one of em got to my place we were restarting the game again so they could experience it while the ones whom we already tried it were waiting for the dog part in the corridor. We turned the lights off, my dad made sure the sofa was close to the TV and was hiding behind it to make the dog jump scare even worst, one of my friends got so scared he thrown the controller and broke it. 🤣 Good times. 😃👍
Personally, if they could improve upon the character movement and make them more fluid like in the other remakes, and make the rooms fully 3D so you don’t have so many camera angle changes, I’d leave everything else the same. The graphics here are outstanding for their time, because the 2002 GameCube remake utilized a technique that was abandoned around the year 2000 as 3D hardware improved. The technique involves drawing only the character models in 3D, but projecting them onto a pre-rendered background image. So basically Jill and the enemies are just walking around in black nothingness with an image layer behind. In todays GPU's, it's possible to have both highly detailed 3D character models and highly detailed 3D environments. That's why the Resident Evil 2 remake looks so awesome for the PS4/PS5 even though it's fully 3D. But back then, pre-rendered backgrounds was that one technique which enabled you to have both detailed environments and detailed character models. The cost was that the camera angles got fixed, but I consider that to be a stylistic charm of Resident Evil. 🙂
I know people like to heap praise on this game and it is a good game. But it's just missing the style and signature that made RE1 the gold that it is. OG RE1 truly is a genie captured in the bottle.
I wished they kept resident evil with this style of gameplay. I grew up with the very first RE1 on PS1 then I played the RE0 and RE1 on the GameCube. Seeing the amazing updated pre-rendered backgrounds blends in with the real characters. The lighting, shading was also awesome. I was amazed on how stunning it look and wish developers would still make games that are pre rendered. I know that it’s just a static image and 2D dimensional with preset camera angles. But some games are just much better played that way like the resident evil series. I’ve lost interest in other series. While resident evil 4 was great so did its graphics n style of gameplay.

Damn I miss old Jill she was my sweetheart valentine. So cute with that hat and gun where it all started.
Exactly. I can’t stand what they turned her into in 3make.
Shit hurt knowing that's what we gotta look forward to. Literally don't even know who she is anymore.
@nopechrisgt 😔
The soundtrack is a real masterpiece, it build ups so much tension
I remember when I got the original PS1 game, was inviting my friends to come and see.
Every time one of em got to my place we were restarting the game again so they could experience it while the ones whom we already
tried it were waiting for the dog part in the corridor.
We turned the lights off, my dad made sure the sofa was close to the TV and was hiding behind it to make the dog jump scare even worst, one of my friends got so scared he thrown the controller and broke it. 🤣
Good times. 😃👍
The remake that sticks to the original such a master piece...😍
I have very fond memories of playing this game one cold night during a blizzard
Personally, if they could improve upon the character movement and make them more fluid like in the other remakes, and make the rooms fully 3D so you don’t have so many camera angle changes, I’d leave everything else the same. The team who made this remake were amazing. Crazy to think this dropped in 2002.
I remember this game scared me so much as a kid I had to ask my cousin to walk me to our uncles house 😂 it still gives me the creeps tbh and I’d love a next gen remake
You didn't play this as a kid. You played it as a teenager or adult like most people did. I am so sick of people lying about playing games like resident evil as kids. I refuse to believe the vast majority of them, including you. And nothing you say will convince me otherwise.
@@obvioushieidude7668 at no point did I state I played it. I sat behind them and watched. Have you tried getting a life instead of knocking down peoples life experiences?
Back in 2003 on Gamecube, i couldn't believe how good the graphics were. The team behind this game were living in the future

Best Resident Evil game ever. By quite a margin.
This is how the RE2 remake should have been made. Not like a 3rd person shooter.
True
re2 remake is its own game if you don’t like it play the original
It's outdated asf and the sales on the remake say otherwise 😂
No way, faithful to the original but modernized in every way possible, the originals are to slow paced for today's standards
would be nice but if they did we probably would not have gotten more remakes
Absolute masterpiece, this is THE Resident Evil
They played us like a damn Fiddle in alot of others!
A mammoth presentation of THE original survival horror game. Thank you for showing this to us.
The best survival horror game ever made, simply perfect and brilliant
You know that bad feeling of longing... for things that never come back...? That's what happened when reviewing this game. I played with a dictionary on my side to translate from English... that was a game, it was scary, it made you think... I will always remember this work of art playing on my ps1 baby late at night...
51:33 There goes Jill in the destiny! 52:05 Jill held a gun to embark on a mission, 52:34 she discovered Richard being wounded.
52:39 Richard was terribly injured.
I just recently got into RE series. Started with 7 and damnnnn it got me hooked. Beat 8 after. And now bought this one and mannnnn it’s so damn good. Almost finished with Chris’s story. Then I’ll move to re2,3,4,5,6

I remember seeing these graphics on GameCube for the first time and being absolutely blown away.
I wish they would update this game and zero for 60fps and 4k support
this actually depicted the actual classic resident evil vibe making this a real throwback.
Love this game, fun to watch this! However VERY annoying that the person playing is wasting kerosine on the zombies that has already turned red and is killed, it is not like they are gonna turn again 😂
i am just watching to refresh my memories
Completely miss this game so much. Truth be told I actually never finished the game though 🤣🤣🤣 First time I played this game it gives all the creeps. But I did finished the other series from RE2 to RE5. Only the first RE that I never actually finished. It's because the zombies is always shows up whenever you let your guard down. Not to mention the ammos in this game is hard to get. This game makes you really lives in it and not just play it for fun. The first installment makes the others looks more easy. Completely the best
If they remade resident evil 2-4 perfectly, THIS GAME DESERVES IT THE MOST! This is where IT ALL STARTED. I would love to see the same engine and gameplay we got from the resident evil remakes 2-4 on this game. This would probably be the best one.
If is already a remake
The way a remake should be made add everything and put some extras in there unlike Re 3 reimagined. Love this game need an Outbreak 1 and 2
No other game in the franchise captures the essence of resident evil as perfectly as this one
I love the "Resident Evil" voice in the beginning. It's the same as the 1st. The icing on the cake would've been the PS1 Introduction!!!!
Back when resident evil was a good game and fun to play.
It's literally gorgeous
This is the best Resident Evil, combination between classic Resident Evil with impressive high end graphics! Game Cube was a step forward for console innovation
Thank you for the throwback!! I was about 21 or 22 when I first played this game, over 20 years ago and it had me pulling my hair out!!🤣🤣 🥰👏🏽💯
After watching this walkthrough, even after so many years, I now understand what I did wrong and why the game was so difficult for me at the time. I don't remember getting the Taser or the lighter! My most vivid memory is me running from and dodging zombies...CONSTANTLY! ... Continuously!! ... And now I know why... I didn't have that darn lighter! Daaamn!!! 🤔
you were probably playing as Chris
Took me about 3 or 4 months to get through the whole 11 hours but I enjoyed it! Thank you for playing, recording and uploading :)
40:01 Zombie fast AF ! Scared me 😂
the sound design is unforgettable. honestly so scrumptious
Best remake ever true survival horror right here
That running zombie at 40:08 made my heart beats faster.
It's my favorite (REMAKE of all RE=RE4) I prefère the 3D 1rst person non official and not commercial of this REBIRTH 😭😭😭😭
This video is absolutely incredible. I've never seen anything like it before. The attention to detail is impressive. The sound design is amazing. I love the way you used the music to enhance the mood. You're a genius! I'm definitely going to watch more of your content.
One of the best game ever
Perfeição de jogo parabéns aos desenvolvedores
I was 13 when this came out. Man what I wouldn't give to relive my childhood
Doesn’t need another remake. Perfect as is.
What about the door loading screens? Maybe a remake with both fixed camera angles and over the shoulder, but with faster loading speeds.
@@dreistheman7797 I would prefer a remake of Code Veronica but your idea sounds great for Resident Evil 1.
@@dreistheman7797 No over the shoulder ruins the whole feel of the mansion. Leave this game alone! This game is how RE2 and RE3 remakes should have been!
@@ronwoods6712 well at least make the loading speed faster and use the RE Engine

El mejor juego de Resident Evil puedale a quien le pueda esto era la verdadera escencia de Resident
I wish they would patch this at 60 fps for current gen
absolutely i would pay 10bucks for that upgrade..
Played this in 1996. Great then and great now in 2023
5:19:36 Excellent! Explosion!🤣
I know people like to heap praise on this game and it is a good game. But it's just missing the style and signature that made RE1 the gold that it is. OG RE1 truly is a genie captured in the bottle.
Estava pensando em jogar esse game no meu Xbox, pois terminei esses dias o RE0
I wished they kept resident evil with this style of gameplay. I grew up with the very first RE1 on PS1 then I played the RE0 and RE1 on the GameCube. Seeing the amazing updated pre-rendered backgrounds blends in with the real characters. The lighting, shading was also awesome. I was amazed on how stunning it look and wish developers would still make games that are pre rendered. I know that it’s just a static image and 2D dimensional with preset camera angles. But some games are just much better played that way like the resident evil series. I’ve lost interest in other series. While resident evil 4 was great so did its graphics n style of gameplay.
i dont like it its annoying, we dont have to live in nostalgia all the time holy sh*t.
@@AstralHiGHSheesh... you really went to a video of a game you didn't like, read a relatively long and positive comment about it and had to say you find it annoying... You must be the life of the party. By the way, in the field of gaming this game IS nostalgia...

Agree. Roaming the halls of Spencer Mansion is one of the most atmospheric, eerie and weirdly soothing experiences in video games. Obviously when monsters are not chasing you
