I have been sewing for decades and have learnt not to take shortcuts, so yes, I will baste first. Also I use pins to hold things together because the clips are clunky and not as precise as a pin. I have some of those clips but use them for quilting as they are designed to hold bulky fabrics together. But I will say your sewing is very neat and your commentary helpfuland pleasant to listen to.

if you can do a small serge or rolled edge with your serger you can get a smaller twin needle to make the twin needle cover stitch closer to an 1/8" apart. I am sure that there is a tutorial on how to set your brand of machine up that way.

How do u size it down to a doll size, from a kids pattern 🤔?
Can you give the Cover Stitch machine settings for the doll clothing, I have this machine and have never used it.
