    I tried it 10 minutes ago, from my beginner palate, it tastes smokey and reminds me of the natural environment. I imagine it tastes like the area, but I will have to visit one day.

    Just opened a bottle I received for my birthday. Fantastically complex and high ABV for the price. Probably my favorite bottle of Islay scotch around. Cheers!

    Thanks for not being such connoisseurs that you lose the guy who can’t relate to paying well over 75 to 100 dollars a bottle. I know there are some top notch Scotches out there at a decent price. My new foray into Scotch went like this: Glenfiddich 18, Dalwhinnie 15, Talmnavulin double cask, and my fav so far, the Ardbeg Uigeadail. Thanks for not demeaning our cash. The Uigeadail was 75 American bucks.

    My bottle is not 46º but 54º. Weird.
    Good review as always! I would say this has three interesting notes at the same time: the two main notes, peat (like ardberg 10) and oak (like laprhoaig triple cask), and a secondary note, sherry. And a ton of other more secundary notes. Its one of my favorites.

    Just tried the Uigeadail, bought it in Bulgaria for about 70 euro, Ardbeg 10 cost about 50euro and I really prefer 10 y.o. But Uigeadail is very good aswell, just curing myself from corona virus.

      Hope you're all well mate. I'm yet to the uigeadail and the corryvreckan but I'm really keen as I love the 10

      @@dadthedrugexpert6721 You are so kind, thank you. I am well now. Had another bottle of whisky Caol Ila 12 y.o. was good but Ardbeg 10 is my fav so far.

      whisky is rona cure confirmed

  • @pglinvik
    @pglinvik 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    About the age: I asked at the distillery, and they said that the Uigeadail was a mix of "standard" 10 year old and some older whisky. So it is a 10 year old whisky. The Corryvreckan is the one that has younger whisky than 10 year old in it. Don't know about the An Oa, though, as it wasn't released at the time.

    • @Ex0rz
      @Ex0rz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well by "standards" its a 10yo, since the youngest in it is a 10yo whisky, but as a mix of different ages, it is older. Thats why its a NAS.

    • @pglinvik
      @pglinvik 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Well, no, it is a NAS only because they haven't put an age statement on it. If they did, it would be a 10 year old, even if they had some 50 year old whisky in the mix. Precisely because the youngest whisky in it is 10 years old. But they probably don't want a whole range of 10 year old whiskys (or younger, with regard to Corry). That's a marketing strategy, I guess.

    My favorite whisky hands down, I've tried whiskies way more expensive and while they may have been slightly better, the quality increase isn't big enough to justify the price increase.

    I have a bizarre sense of smell compared to most (perhaps because I am a smoker), but I get a kind of tannery or new leather aroma from this dram. Perhaps it's just memory association..., I love this whisky though.

    So I'm pretty new to the whiskey world but all I'm getting is CHERRIES. There's a bit of smoke, but its very, very cherry compared to the 10 year, imo.

    I'm not a whisky drinker, but I follow on youtube and I buy a lot of bottles. I just open a miniatur of Ardbeg Uigeadail. How do I put it, I know the smell, can't describe it, smells like medicine, hospital. I taste it, I can not drink this, it's awful for me( no hate to ardbeg) . It's just me? My whisky is "compromise"? Don't understand how people love it and how can you sense stuff like sherry in it....

      If you are a beginner in tasting whisky, you might want to start from less intense, less abv and less peated ones... A good one to start would be Highland Park 12. If peat is not your thing, try Glenfarclas 12. Sometimes you can't skip steps...
