    Thanks for posting this one! I just watched this here in TN, USA while standing in the liquor store trying to decide between the Uigeadail and the An Oa… your video was quite helpful. I love the ten year so I went with the Uigeadail and just enjoyed my first pour. Wow… what an experience that is! My new favorite whiskey for certain.

      Glad it was helpful! Believe it or not, that’s why I started the channel because I was having the same choices you was having and there were videos on TH-cam but just about the one whisky per video and no comparisons so your comment just made my day. Enjoy 🥃

    Thank you for putting this out. I had questions about these two that the guy at the store couldn't answer. You answered my questions very well.

    Love the Ugi and the wee beastie. Going to Islay for 4 days in Sept to visit all the distilleries. Really looking forward to trying the An Oa and the Corry. 🙂

      Enjoy it! Sounds great! I always avoided the corry due to the price but I bought it a few months ago and just wow. I preferred it to the Uig but quite different flavour profile. Taste as much as you can!

      You can’t really go wrong with any of the core range of ardbeg!
      Their 5 year old (wee beastie) is £32-35 in the UK and for the money I think it’s absolutely incredible. Got quite a few ardbeg videos already recorded so hopefully I’ll be posting those soon :) including a full core range review.
      Yes you should! I always find it interesting doing comparisons and you’ll recognise what your favourite is a lot easier that way too

    I very much want to try the An Oa. I have never seen it in Vancouver but I am considering ordering it from another province (Alberta) where they have sourced it. I need to look at the secondary prices. I do love the UIG but I am so intrigued with your thoughts on the An Oa and it honestly sounds amazing and so delicious! I really love the Wee Beastie and the Ten Year Old Ardbeg and I do favour the Ten year and given how much I love Ardbeg overall, I tend to think I will love the An Oa! I have to find some! Now I am even more encouraged to! This is such a wonderful, interesting comparison and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Terrific content and format! Cheers!! 🙂

      Thank you so much Christine! I would say that if you’re an ardbeg lover then it’s definitely worth buying but always remember, “every whisky has its price”. I don’t recommend paying too much over its RRP on the secondary market but that’s just my opinion and everyone has their own budget that they’re willing to spend on a whisky. Having said all that, I do love the an oa. I need to buy another bottle of the wee beastie and the an oa. Tasty stuff! 😋 I hope you had an amazing Christmas Day

    Brilliant video! Seems like I need to invest in an An Oa as well. (Having been a fan of Uigeadail for a few years now, I just recently tried the Corryvreckan for the first time. I think I might like that even more than the Uigeadail, but hard to say for sure when you don’t have them side by side and are influenced by expectations, atmosphere, company etc.)

      Thank you! I’m with you on the Corryvrecken, I think it’s better than the Uigeadail.
      I have a full ardbeg core range review recorded that I’ll be posting soon as well as some other ardbeg reviews so maybe wait a little for that or if you can’t wait then I’d just say buy it!
      I really really like the an oa. The only downside is I think it could be priced a little bit better! But overall a really great whisky, cheers! 🥃

    For me my favourite Ardbeg by a close call is the Corrywreckan over the Uigeadail. Then it's depending on the occation wich I like best between AnOa, 10yo and the Wee Beastie. I do have the 8yo "For Discussion" as well, but haven't tried yet.
    Thank you for a great review 🤗
    I like comparison videos better.

    • @WhiskyWars
      @WhiskyWars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! Interesting, what casks is the 8 year matured in?
      I trust your opinion so now I’m feeling like I need to get the Corrywreckan 😅 ardbeg is just so good isn’t it? Although I do feel like I’m in the minority in preferring them sherried. Thanks for watching again 🙂

      @@WhiskyWars
      I can't find that much information about the casks in the 8yo. It might be bourbon and sherry hogshead casks.
      The Corrywreckan isn't sherry forward at all. I would say that it tastes much like Smokehead original, but all notes are cranked up to 1000. Smokehead is like a poor mans Corrywreckan 🤗
      For me I'm a sucker for really smoky sherry bombs, like Kilchoman Sanaig, or Arran Heavily Peated, but I also like non sherry forward smoke bombs. 😋
      Ardbeg, Laphroaig and Lagavulin are the holy trinity 😁

    • @WhiskyWars
      @WhiskyWars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can’t say I disagree with anything you said there, I also prefer laphroaig and lagavulin non sherried, I’ve yet to try a kilchoman but I really enjoyed the smokehead, the original and the rum cask. The rum cask was really nice. Didn’t enjoy the cask strength though

    I haven't tried the rest of the Ardbeg series, but I did enjoy the Ardbeg I got it from the airport. Definitely a better finish than the Laphroaig 10 or Select. The sweetness is definitely there but it is subtle rather than over whelming while retaining the characteristic of the Islay peaty tradition.

    • @WhiskyWars
      @WhiskyWars  ปีที่แล้ว
