Love emeralds so much! Such a beautiful stone! That vibrant green makes it a for-sure, favorite of mine. The clarity and the color of the emeralds he showed, are exceptional beauties! I love the way that emeralds can be cabbed or faceted! And to facet them to enhance the color or the light play, is awesome! A sure fire way to make every stone, the best it can be! Amazing! And I think it's so awesome that he is giving back to Colombia, for all the years of success he enjoyed because of their emeralds. That is a truly great man and guest! Thank you for this lovely look at emeralds! 💚
So I was watching and at first a formed a wrong opinion. I was like look at this dude showing off his ring and stuff then I really got to thinking. 40 successful years in a business where you get to handle some of the worlds most beautiful and valuable gemstones and you get paid for that!! That’s freakin amazing. With that success you get to own your own beautiful pieces. I’d show off that ring too like “yup…who’s the man now!!”
it was really insightful! I'm about to start work in emerald from Pakistan and this video couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for showing the emeralds in their unmined calcite veins in the shale host rock. Next time I see a hillside that's black and clear of debris, I'll know to hammer and/or chisel away at any calcite veining that I see. I always enjoy the geological aspects of the host rocks as much as the gemological significance. Also, what type of UV light is that and does it require protective eyewear?
I love emeralds so much! But I personally would go for silver, platinum or white gold for cap on the crystals. ;) As a book series I enjoyed once would say, I'm a moon child rather than a sun child. Cool toned metals are best for me.
I’ve been so very lucky to recently have acquired a small Emerald Cut Colombian Emerald from the Cunas mine, so these are just stunning for me to see since I have one myself. I never appreciated Emeralds much for a very long time. Now that I own one, I can truly see their beauty. I think I didn’t appreciate them because I’m not much of a fan of the colour green, but emeralds truly do shine from within and have the most beautiful colour green to them. Another great videos you guys! 💚💚💚
I've seen some recent ads (Aug '24) for emeralds...the danger of importing anything from India, is that one is likely to wind-up with some/many counterfeits. Russian manufacturers are making a synthetic that is VERY convincing: they go so far as to create it with internal fracturing (which can actually be a bit aesthetically pleasing - which is the exact opposite of what happens naturally). Ideal, deep, vibrant coloring with an eerily uniform pattern to the fracturing (from stone-to-stone), combined with a complete absence of any foreign-matter inclusions are indicative of this material. The reason genuine emeralds are so very expensive is that top-notch examples are exceedingly rare... the availability of sooo many at the same time is just not "normal". Possible? Sure...I'd guess about the same odds as winning the powerball (1 in ~300 million).
The fun part is that I can find these stones myself and adore what nature made over the years. The inclusions, cloudiness etc. makes these stones unique and tell a different story. Synthetics are... synthetics. Theres nothing special about them. I always say that I would prefer to buy an original Mona Lisa painting instead of mere copy.
@@danieljakistam9409I completely agree lab grown is pointless and a waste. The inclusions make the stone unique and beautiful I don’t understand how anyone could want lab grown anything
i’m super fascinated in gemstones colored by chromium. i’m wondering though; are there any gemstones with chromium in their composition? not as a coloring agent
Great question! It's pretty rare to find but it can happen. Crocoite is a very fragile mineral, but it can be polished into a gem as we showed here: th-cam.com/video/fZ08ljIxrvs/w-d-xo.html. Kosmochlor is another mineral with chromium in its base chemical formula. You may see it mixed in with jade or used as a jade simulant. Also, Uvarovite is a chromium bearing member of the garnet group. Its use as a gemstone is also rare, but you may come across it.
This is funny just came here from Matpat’s video from SIX YEARS AGO and watched the Minecraft emerald and video and the newest video is about emeralds lol i find this very funny and i might start a week thing saying something I don’t know maybe flapjack im a little hungry
New video idea: Comparing the Crystal Gems from Steven Universe with their real-world counterparts (bonus points if you invite series creator Rebecca Sugar of course)
Hi, emeralds from swat pakistsn have beautiful colours but not as clear as others. Price, though, very cheap compared to the rest of the world. Sometimes, it is even 10 to 100 times cheaper depending on the situation of miners. Most gems go to india from pakistan through dubai .pakistan has three sites. Swat with deep green color, chitral has light green and gilgit has mixed but not attractive green color. Wana see pakistans emeralds on the show. Thanks
Brazilian type has not to much iron , they have Iron and vanadium . This is the main difference. Natural color ? 95% of emeralds are oiled ! What "natur" are u referring at ? ...well there people who belives that Crystals have some medical properties
Panshir, Afghanistan has good ones too…not sure if there’s anything coming from there now since that was the last resistance before the Taliban completely took over and I doubt they were kind.
I love how passionate mr Ringsrud is. I really enjoy learning from him.

You are using comars wrong
@@Voting-does-nothing and you are spelling comma wrong. What do they say about people in glass houses throwing stones?
Norwegian emerals also glow red in uv.
so does tsavorite

I love that the editing reflects the nuances of the characters of the guests.
I trust this channel’s respectful and subtle judgments.
I too enjoyed today’s presentation of Beautiful Emeralds. Thank you Mr. Ringswald for sharing your heart with us.
Faceted emerald is definitely on my wishlist
That lighting must have been spot on. I’ve never been able to get emerald to photograph well.
As a clarity snob, those 3 Cunas stones were gorgeous. Thanks for the UV tip.
Emerald cabs are my current obsession, and I can't get enough of sugarloaves!

We were using long wave UV. It doesn’t require protective eyewear, but you should always take precautions when using short wave UV
Emeralds are such a beautiful stone 😻 Thank you for the wonderful vid!

My favorite gemstone.
Very interesting! Maybe he can come back with more stories?
we'd love it!
The Muzo mines have some beutiful gem rough, but personally I love emeralds from Afghanistan. Great guest. Thank you 2x👍
I never knew about the colour change fluorescence! That was awesome! ❤ I love green stones! The book looks amazing!

The first three emeralds are my favorites💯👌💯

So pretty!
I didnt know they were hexagon crystals, very interesting
Fun! I'm wearing my emerald today. It has so much jardin you'd need a weed eater 😄 but it's green and I love it.
What emeralds are best? That's easy: synthetic. Natural emeralds are occluded, cloudy, and overall junky in appearance. Lab-grown is so much better.
Synthetic doesn't even come close to mimicking the natural emerald beauty. Emerald is one of the easiest stones to spot a 'fake'.
@@danieljakistam9409I completely agree lab grown is pointless and a waste. The inclusions make the stone unique and beautiful I don’t understand how anyone could want lab grown anything
@@AbuGrave365 Tastes differ, apparently. I notice that clarity still counts for a lot in all gems, as does purity.
@@DuncanL7979 Synthetic is not 'fake' any more than aspirin is 'fake willow root.' It's the same material in purified form.
Emeralds are very opulent. The gem 💎 of kings
I love emeralds!
Love these vids!
How do you tell the difference between natural, lab-grown and "fake"?
That’s a big topic. Maybe we should do a video on it?

I have 600lbs of raw Brazilian emerald what can I do with them
Very good sir
Hey Gems - we chatted recently - wanted to reach out for a sponsorship opportunity, but wasn't sure how to contact you.
Email us at info@gemstones.com!
I still remember when I subscribed to this channel cause Game Theory (I'm pretty sure) recommended this channel
Why do emeralds always look so cloudy?
Natural inclusions, it's very very very rare to have eye clean or better emeralds due to how they 'grow'
This is funny just came here from Matpat’s video from SIX YEARS AGO and watched the Minecraft emerald and video and the newest video is about emeralds lol i find this very funny and i might start a week thing saying something I don’t know maybe flapjack im a little hungry

She's had a baby and has been busy with family. But she keeps in touch and we hope she might be back on the channel one day.
I LOVE a good JynkxMonsoon moment!!

This woman is exquisitely beautiful. The emeralds are nice. But, i like less blue emeralds, more Zambian colors.
Me too..Zambian Emeralds are the best Greens in my opinion.
