Even as a British ex-pat, I still find Charles' accent, intonation and speech cadence entirely riveting and fully representative of advanced education, vast knowledge and experience, and disciplined commitment to gemology and teaching. It automatically made me sit up straight and pull my ears back into alignment with my shoulders. 👏👏👏

Thank you for the informative video on how to use the gem tools. All I have is a loupe. I didn’t know that even with a loupe, I can discover more information other than just inclusions. I enjoyed this video.
Great demonstrations, more videos going through the ID process like this would be awesome. Maybe including a stereomicroscope with a darkfield condenser to show off inusions!

Hello everyone *help needed!!* at the 11:36 mark she says she sees an orange brown with the diascope, however it looks like it's changing from the greenish yellow into a dark blue to me! Am I color blind or is anyone else seeing this? Similar to the meme years ago where some people say the girl with the white and orange dress and others saw a blue and golf. Someone plz let me know if I'm tripping thanks
Honestly, I would like to have a large faceted piece of that selenium glass, and I know that the point of the video was to show how the devices work, but I would have liked them to show how to recognize gems that did not have such marked optical properties, let's say a faceted quartz. aquamarine, very clear minerals with almost zero inclusions and zero optical properties but well in the end I really liked it
1:29 Saying a green gem can't be a sapphire is not correct. I have a box of very green montana sapphires. I suppose the "only blue" is sapphire, argument can be used. As "only red" is a ruby. Being they're all Corundum,,, what should we call a pink, yellow, green or purple? If we want to sell them, (our goal afterall) what sounds better? Pink Corundum? Or pink Sapphire? Too many terms in my opinion, are confusing. For instance,, the words mineral "Growth" and mineral "Formation", are many times used interchangeably. But in my mind, are vastly different. I can "Grow" a flower in a pot. But i must "Form" the pot. Do Diamonds,, "Grow",,, 300 miles below the earths surface. Or were they "Formed"? (like a giant redwood being smashed to the size of a 1ct Diamond) I've yet to get this answered. I love watching,❤, too much. It keeps me from my faceting machine.🫤 💎

Great video! ❤
Thanks for this video!!!
Great information, thanks guys. 2x👍
Where can I purchase a polariscope, dichroscope, and spectrometer? What are the best quality brands?
Check out the links in the description! We have options for you to purchase all of the tools we used in the video as well as a few more!
Nice, both tested just as they looked as a best initial identity.
Would love to see what the LuAG from the lab made gemstones video looks like through the polariscope 😂
I DIDN’T KNOW YOU GUYS HAD A SCHOOL, I WANNA GO!!!
i would love to be a fellow

Do you guys sell the light pad? Can't find anything like it on the website
what is the best tool to view a sapphire? ❤ thanks in advance
You want a loupe for observation. 10x loupe should be sufficient for most purposes.
How can you use these tests if the stones are in jewelry?
I would like to see a video about how microscopes are used in gem identification and cutting.

Why so many girls take the very annoying voice tone she is taking ? It’s sounds too unnatural i can’t focus on the content
