- Have you ever wanted to get into comic books but you had no idea where to start? I'm starting a new series going over what I believe are some of the better starting points for comic book characters and why I think that's where you should begin. With a new video game out, I thought now was the perfect time to take a look at Miles Morales. This beloved Spider-Man has a very complex history and has even jumped universes, so there's a lot to hop into.

I'd really like to see ones for Daredevil and Red Hood, this would be cool
Idk anything about red hood but for daredevil I’d suggest one of those marvel masterworks with the original daredevil story’s other than that I’d suggest born agin, the man without fear by frank miller, and the chip zdarsky run

Lackluster?... Those are the best miles comics and some of the best spider-man comics. All others were lackluster though, so maybe if you are confusing it, Did you read Death of Spider-man and it's followup, Ultimate Fallout?
@@FredMaverik I like the ultimate comics with Peter Parker and the miles ones have some good ideas but the Ultimate universes quality was dropping pretty harshly at that time and Miles' character was originally very bland

Thank you for all the information. Today I finally completed my miles collection because of your guidance. Luckily I found them all brand new.
Great video man! I started with the first issue of Ultimate Spider-man with Peter back when Quarantine started and read it all the way through the last little bit of stuff that Bendis did with Miles, which I think technically ends with issue 240 if you go by original numbering. Have you read Spider-men 2? The story as a whole was just ok but the ending had a very big reveal which I won't spoil. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite comic runs up there with Geoff Johns Green Lantern. I would love to see you make a video like this with Superman!

Yeah so far my planned characters are Flash (Though I need to look at which, because my fav is Wally), Superman, Spider-Man (Peter) and Watchmen. I'm not sure how many I will make because they take a long time actually (I know it doesn't look like it) and usually I try to invest in having most of the issues so I'm not talking out of my backside.
@@DegenerateJay Yeah Wally's better than Peter (in my opinion). There's alot more depth to him, especially in Rebirth. If you want anyone else's imput, I'd say eventually do both, but start with Barry.

Before I watch the video I’m just gonna say what I’d recommend is starting at the death of Spiderman in the ultimate universe because it’s very important to the story to see how the death of Peter Parker effects have on Nick fury deals with Miles Morales

Yeah it supposedly died but then was brought back after the secret wars event and has been being referenced to bits at a time ever since.
Yeah it’s back. It is actually the center of the current Venom book by Donny Cates. I’m behind but it’s apparently been taken over by symbiotes.
@@lukejohnson3715 I thought the same when I read that venom issue for the first time but it looks to me it's a different universe than ultimate bcs anne was not in the ultimate universe I think and also carnage was not cletus kasady in the ultimate universe so I guess it's not the ultimate universe altought it looks like it
@@spooder0080 I don’t know. I’m behind on Venom but last I saw, the Earth’s designation was 1610 and it’s part of the Maker’s endgame to use symbiotes to save his Earth. Now, the points you mention might be a continuity hiccup, might be some post-Secret Wars shenanigans, or it may be an Exiles situation where it’s an offshoot that heavily resembles 1610. I don’t know.
@@DegenerateJay I would also recommend that reading the 2017 miles morales book may help fans recap or have new fans come in because I became a fan in 2017 threw the miles morales book.
I could just be forgetting something, but I remember reading an origin for Miles which didn't include Fallout, and I got the full picture. Maybe it did, but I don't think so (Fallout includes The Ultimates, right? The Ultimates weren't in what I read).
I believe it's called "Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate Collection Book 1 (Ultimate Spider-Man (Graphic Novels))" on Amazon. Also, I looked and I think it might include one Fallout issue, but it's pretty much just The Death Of Spider-Man from Miles' P.O.V., if I'm not mistaken.
I really hope they make Black Cat and Silver Sable playable on the Playstation games. Maybe in the sequel?
Just out of curiosity what's your thoughts on Red X finally coming to the main DC canon?
I think it's interesting. It really depends on how well it's done. Sometimes they're bringing characters like that or Arkham Knight and then they just don't really matter that much other than just including them once or twice.
Do you think a X-men game would be hard to make or easy to make?? Same for TMNT

I’ve recently been watching the Daredevil Netflix series and want to start reading the comics so if you talked about where to start that’d be great
That’s great cause the show touched a lot on what the comics does so you can jump right in . I’d recommend Daredevil : Born again , Last hand and roulette .
Honestly most of the Daredevil comics are great . unlike most comics , daredevil has been consistently good over the years
