Can anyone confirmed reports I've been hearing of stickdrift out of the box? I heard calibrating with the app fixes it but still stickdrift out of the box when the sticks are hall effect are keeping me from pulling the trigger.
Been through two v2s, and buying 2 or even 3 controllers until you get acceptable stick drift is a fact. Still better than the elite, but still not great if you are giving it as a gift.
Since this controller is getting so much praise do you see them doing a version for the PS5? Their V2 Pro for the PS5 could use a similar refresh and it would be an instant buy, as I dont like the ps5 controller shape.
Shame you still can't rebind the back paddles to keyboard keys, even with ReWASD which does work with the Elite controllers. I just want to be able to bind the back paddles to push-to-talk on Discord but apparently that's a high hurdle for gamepads to clear.
Chinese were the first to introduce the hall effect and they did it with a decent price . i can afford this controller , but this price is silly , way too much
Sad there's no gyro since it's for Xbox. But as far as 4 paddle controllers go, it's my favorite. There's no compromises. I've been loving mine for games like Destiny, where they just keep adding so many new mechanics it's hard to cram it onto a controller these days. I make use of all 6 of the extra buttons and it's been so so nice 💖
I currently own the Wolverine V2 and I'm torn between getting this or the Scuf Envision Pro. Alot of people don't like the Envision because of iCue but all my peripherals/ram/cpu cooler and fans are all Corsair and all controlled by iCue so it already runs all the time in the background so I'm very familiar with it and frankly it doesn't give me any problems vs what I've seen from people and I've been using iCue for years. I'm stickly on PC as well no consoles and I mainly use mouse and kb for my games, only a few games I play with a controller so stick drift isn't really an issue for me. The v3's hall effect sticks are pretty sweet but having the ability to make actual full blown macros on the Envision pulls me more towards it.
I have the envision and the software sucks a lot. I have to turn icue off when I’m playing with it. It will reset my button lay out and I get an input lag on the back paddles which doesn’t happen with icue off. I have to hardware map the buttons and leave icue off just to use it and that intern disables some of the features of the controller like setting macros, so basically I paid $200 for a controller, but only getting $100 of it to work. The controller does have a nice shape, but the back paddles are garbage. Instant triggers are nice though. I just bought the tournament edition of this controller because I’m over the envision bs.
I just bought the Envision today and I am returning it first thing tomorrow morning. Worst controller I've ever used, felt extremely sluggish, awkward button placement, and had drift right out of the box. I've had several generations of Xbox controllers, the Victrix Gambit, Gamesir Kaleid, and Vader 4 Pro. The Scuf Envision Pro is definitely the worst one I have ever used.
Honestly everything seems so good I’m not even sure if 200 USD is overpriced. Is way more bang for your buck than Sony and Microsoft offers. Especially if they also offer a cheaper wired version. I was looking for a pro controller and none met my requirements, a few days later this thing comes out and check all the boxes. Good build quality, hall ffect, extra buttons, two modes triggers and wireless.
I thought "Pro controller" gave me hope for Nintendo. They don't have any good competitive pro controllers that don't drift after a few months, nor have hd rumble. Playing competitive smash and being very rigorous in taking care of my controllers, the execution still breaks down controllers. Even when I never throw them, drop them, etc.
@@itssomeoneelse Those cheaper competitors 99% don't meet all my requirements of wireless, hd rumble, and anti drift. I did my research and went through 10 3rd party controllers wired and wireless. Don't pretend as if they don't always slack off on something for the price. The vader 4 pro is the next thing I have my eyes on but that doesn't guarentee quality for nintendo. There's controllers that are for PC's that when they play on switch there is input delay which ruins the most important part of competitive fighting games related to controllers. Execution.
Sadly it will probably have quality control issues because razer can’t figure out their qc to save them selves in the controller dep. I’m on the v2 chroma and I get it at game stop because of their warranty other wise I wouldn’t buy it. I’m on my 7th one in the span of 1-2yrs under warranty almost all had issues in either stick drift or back buttons failing since on the chroma the back ones aren’t mouse clicks idk why but they aren’t. Hall effect seems nice but for the money I’ll see if game stop will start carrying the tournament one and I’ll get it since it will be much cheaper. Over all if razer could figure out their qc they will have a really good product but as of rn I can’t recommend their controllers at all (before the chroma I was on the ultimate that had the chrome design also had terrible issues around stick drift and for some reason the shoulder buttons went through 5 of the under warranty before giving up and trying other controllers from other brands). After the chroma I have runs out of warranty I will look else where for a remote 😢
The only hesitations I have are the price and the sticks. I have the FlyDigi Apex 4. It only cost me 80 bucks and it's pretty amazing so far. The sticks have adjustable tension right on the controller and that's a feature that I didn't think would make a huge deal. Now I don't think I can live without it. I'm able to completely loosen the Life stick and completely tighten the right stick. Combined with the precision ring it has my made my aim in FPS games so much better. While I could probably still add the precision ring to the Razer Wolverine that lack of stick tension would probably be noticeable. I got to find somebody who's willing to let me try it out before I buy it
@@420beffjezos but isn't that the thing? Xbox won't let anyone use their proprietary signal so everyone either has to use a 2.4ghz dongle or wired at least.
Had this and sent it back, on PC you have to have the dongle in direct sight from the controller, if it is behind the PC or under a desk it will disconnect, the fact the sticks cannot be tensioned is a massive miss from Razer, out of the box the stick drift was awful, they have released a firmware update but playing CoD you could notice the sticks was not responsive straight away due to set the dead zone to number 1 instead of 0, I have no idea what it is like after the update as mine was boxed back up and ready to send back. I also found the controller too small, (personal opinion, I do have large hands) comparing it to the Elite 2 it is not as comfy, I am waiting for the Vader 4 Pro to be delivered instead, also a lot cheaper, lots of good features like the additional top button and the back 4 buttons being mouse click was good but they missed an opportunity to make the perfect controller. To add not having charging within the case like the Elite 2 was a really big downside for me.
You're doing what I'm doing: Trying the razer V3 and vader 4 at the same time lol. I just got both controllers today and doing lots of testing with different games to choose only one to keep. I'm using the wired V3 tournament edition, half the price of the wireless one, which makes it compete really close in price with the vader 4.
I'm in the opposite situation. I have the Vader 4 Pro which has constant issues of disconnecting, so I ordered a second Vader 4 Pro which disconnects even more - several times a day. It also has poor grip, and the Talon grip tape I bought helped but fairly quickly started to peel and collect dirt. I was hoping the Wolverine V3 might be the solution, but from what you're saying it doesn't seem hopeful.
I don't understand the hype about this controller. Nobody in the videos talks about the center point, which is just bad and doesn't calibrate if they set the dead zone to 0. 80 euro controllers can do that better and here you have to spend over 200? No thanks
Razer....meh, i prefer my ps5 controller, i usually tend to love Xbox one and even the new variants too, but im not really into razer made products. Despite all that, nice review
Got mine a few days ago. Only thing I don't like about the controller are that the sticks aren't swappable, and because of this I find it hard to be accurate doing a flick with the concave joystick, where I've always used the dome for aiming because it is faster.
I find it kind of ironic that you came out with a video about this controller, since recently I was thinking about buying it😅 I have been having a lot of controllers just die on me or something goes wrong that makes it hard to play games with on PC.

I like this I might try to pick one up sooner rather than later. I probably will go wired just for the use of PC gaming as it’s $ 100 cheaper well that’s $100 I get to save❤
The back button fixes are great.
Hall Fx sticks too!! I wonder if they’re really all that. Honestly I’d skip on the rubberized grips
Grabbed a TE version and it's the best the 1000 hz mode for p.c. is so responsive and all the buttons as well well worth $100
The only chance im paying over 50 bucks for a controller is one that has 8 back buttons and an integration with xbox and my game to have aux buttons to map them as their own independent button. I dont take my fingers off the trigger and ADS- extra bumpers aren't helpful at all 😭
Mine arrives today. I prefer wired so the option is fine... i cant find a replacement that holds up against the elite controllers... i hope this works.
For anyone who cares. Got mine today. Inputs already stick before an hour of play and I hate the back button layout. The two small ones are great for me but the others force you to grip a certain way. Not like gamesir g7 apex4 or elites. They have better layout on the back. I was trying to get used to it and it would be fine but the software or firmware is bugged. Randomly disconnects and inputs stick without button being bushes. Stick tension is higher than a lot of other controllers but it wasn't bad.

i have the V2 chroma wired. I really don't know how is possible for Razer to create an even better pad than the V2 chroma wired and V2 chroma wireless pads.
only issue is having dead zones set to 0 its not centered. i set it to 1 and its fine. hopefully there is a firmware update or something cause everything else is great
There is a firmware update, but you currently need to use a PC to install it into the controller. It is due on the Xbox app.
@@1nickybe nice. I use it on pc just haven’t looked to see if there’s was one yet. Thank you for letting me know

After having the Xbox Elite Series 1 and 2, TB Stealth Ultra Pro and Scuf Envision Pro, I can say that this Razer Wolverine V3 Pro is the best one I ever had!! Just perfect!! Let's see if it holds in the long term, but for now I just love it!!
This is exactly the feedback I was looking for because I am an elite series 2 user and I am trying to decide between either this or the envision pro. Do you find the paddles to be as comfortable as they are on the elite series 2?
@@tylerfrench4996yes!!! It’s basically the same position as the Elite!! For me it’s just perfect!! And the triggers with the mouse click are AWESOME!!!
What is your selling points
over the elite series 2? Thanks
@@CBarron-nu9vqI need to know this as well as an elite 2 user
@@CBarron-nu9vq It's just better overall... the mouse click buttons feel awesome, and the anti drift analogs are great too! I had too much problems with all 3 Elites I had.
I have the v2 and use all 6 paddles with Fortnite and finds it’s perfect positioning, previously had the v1 which is similar to v3 and the button placements got sore after a while
Wish they'd have kept the back button layout from the v2. The butterfly back buttons are always in the way to me.
Waiting for the Big Big Won Blitz 2 to ship out. Mechanical switches/triggers, TMR thumbsticks, and 2000hz polling rate.
Since this controller is getting so much praise do you see them doing a version for the PS5? Their V2 Pro for the PS5 could use a similar refresh and it would be an instant buy, as I dont like the ps5 controller shape.
Does this controller have a turbo function for auto clicks? Also, you need chapters/time stamps in your videos
For fighting games, how's that dpad ?
Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, ftw!
Shame you still can't rebind the back paddles to keyboard keys, even with ReWASD which does work with the Elite controllers. I just want to be able to bind the back paddles to push-to-talk on Discord but apparently that's a high hurdle for gamepads to clear.
Bruh that's what I'm looking for. Have you found any controller that does it yet?
Chinese were the first to introduce the hall effect and they did it with a decent price . i can afford this controller , but this price is silly , way too much
Sad there's no gyro since it's for Xbox. But as far as 4 paddle controllers go, it's my favorite. There's no compromises. I've been loving mine for games like Destiny, where they just keep adding so many new mechanics it's hard to cram it onto a controller these days. I make use of all 6 of the extra buttons and it's been so so nice 💖
Gyro is a stupid gimmick

DO NOT BUY. They’re getting so many returns based on bad remotes. Wait a few weeks to see if they fix the issues
Foreal

What is the pull rate for this controller on Xbox. Is it capped or can I overclock to 500-1000?
it's capped at 250 on xbox. wired or wireless.
How were you able to download the software to play on Xbox x
Why does the razer controller look bigger than a regular xbox controller?
can you recommend any headsets that will work with this controller? my xbox headset doesn't work with it.
Crazy u can’t change profiles on the fly… gotta go into app to do so
I'm gonna buy it😊
Cool controller!
looks like a good controller
Is the dpad less smooshy and are buttons still smaller than the console controller?
Is it coming for PS5?
Would this work on ps5 and switch as well?
Honestly everything seems so good I’m not even sure if 200 USD is overpriced. Is way more bang for your buck than Sony and Microsoft offers. Especially if they also offer a cheaper wired version.
I was looking for a pro controller and none met my requirements, a few days later this thing comes out and check all the boxes.
Good build quality, hall ffect, extra buttons, two modes triggers and wireless.
If I could trade my elite series 2 for this I would tbh it’s def worth it with Hall effect And polling rate
Can we make it wired since i dont want reduced latency. Wireless is always slower, also thought the sticks were hall effects why is there drift
The triggers are the same in the 2 version?
Hello can you also swap the sticks to southpaw or can you only customize the buttons?
Razer, wooooo! 😎
Coiorvis, Flydigi, Nyxi, iine, Hori... There are tons of better and cheaper competitors.
Execution.

what about the apex pro digi 4 ? is better? or same same
Vibration motors?
You can choose the intensity of the vibration
$200 though? There's no reason to go with something else at that point.
I got to find somebody who's willing to let me try it out before I buy it
lost me at dongle
Is it a more reliable connection, though?
@@SpiderLuke not really, if it was Xbox themselves would've used it instead of BT.
@@420beffjezos but isn't that the thing? Xbox won't let anyone use their proprietary signal so everyone either has to use a 2.4ghz dongle or wired at least.
Don't have an open USB slot? You could always get an extender
Bro only uses first party controllers because of a piece of plastic 😂
Does it work on Xbox 1s
if not what controller should I go with
Had this and sent it back, on PC you have to have the dongle in direct sight from the controller, if it is behind the PC or under a desk it will disconnect, the fact the sticks cannot be tensioned is a massive miss from Razer, out of the box the stick drift was awful, they have released a firmware update but playing CoD you could notice the sticks was not responsive straight away due to set the dead zone to number 1 instead of 0, I have no idea what it is like after the update as mine was boxed back up and ready to send back.
200$/€? no thanks
yeah, I'd rather get the 8bitdo Ultimate for $60.
@@420beffjezos Yeah i HAD that one, sadly it drifted beyond fixing. had to throw it away.

I don't understand the hype about this controller. Nobody in the videos talks about the center point, which is just bad and doesn't calibrate if they set the dead zone to 0. 80 euro controllers can do that better and here you have to spend over 200? No thanks

Despite all that, nice review
Got mine a few days ago. Only thing I don't like about the controller are that the sticks aren't swappable, and because of this I find it hard to be accurate doing a flick with the concave joystick, where I've always used the dome for aiming because it is faster.
They are swappable and come with 2 options

It's not a pro controller if it doesn't have gyro, its just outdated and pointless.
Who TF uses gyro😂
@@jorgegallegos6151 well considering that both Nintendo Switch and PS5 have gyro, the vast majority of players use it. You wouldn't know because you're stuck on dated hardware. Gyro is everything for FPS on a controller, it's very similar to mouse in terms of control and precision, it's also fun as hell to use. Split gyro is even better, you literally aim your controller at the screen like a gun, it's phenomenal. We aren't in the Wii Sports era of gyro anymore bud. Gyro is incredibly perceptive and accurate nowadays. You're missing out on the best part of console gaming if you're still using thumbstick controls (hilarious that people still do that hhahaahh)

I want wired because it is “pro.” Wired creates less latency and sometimes when I use wireless, my controller disconnects.

I've never had a wireless controller disconnect on me and the idea of wireless latency is such a fallacy it's an excuse ppl online use when they lose the level of input latency from a wireless controller is in the milliseconds it's literally imperceptible to the average person lol
