The difference is they want love but they don't want grow and change for the better. They just ant to take and take and never give back. They want to take love and not give real love in exchange. And some are just taken advantage of till they have their health affected and die on the inside,maybe on the outside too
Like most people I say that I feel sorry for him and that he deserves love more than anything but he can't be forgives for the murders he has done and I think how he has the idea of he can fix people might be the saddest part, I think if this short film was able to be a full length movie I'd be down to watch it, watch Abe see that what he is doing is actual bad and I think if he had remorse that would really show that he might have a soul. I knew him and his family he lived next door his mum used to heat our food sometimes, his dad (the fridge) ran off with the washing machine next door and oven (his mum) blew up, he was never the same.
The 2 women and all of the others the robot has tried to 'fix' represent the thing or emotion that we desire most. The robot kills the moth easily and with no second thoughts, this represents how desire can consume you, taking over your mind. The knife represents how easily it is to try to obtain something, but the humans dying shows its never as easy as it seems...
Such a beautifully disturbing piece of art :) to all those involved in creating it i say you are amazingly talented :) if this was a tv show like say Dexter.. id watch every season lol

I felt more for her that him as he has developed into a psychopath with no feelings other than his own. Till the batteries or power source run down this for him will never change . his only empathy is for himself .
This is how we treat each other... We try to get love from others and we try to fix them... We expect them to change and this is what drives them away... Parents trying to 'fix' their children who then try to fix their own... Maybe next time...

The programming language is inconsistent, wildly so, by the robot's description of his psychological issues. He can seek out those to love, giving him discretion, but not even the slightest ability to tolerate lack of full reciprocation. The only realistic way to get a machine like that, is to design it specifically to BE like that.

Very interesting little movie. Not the best Alter has put out, but not bad. Psychopaths are very good at getting you to sympathize with them. They are unable to feel for anyone but themselves, but know how to "act" to manipulate their audience. Being a normal human being, I could feel a touch of pity for the robot, because he was good at manipulation. Fortunately, like most normal human beings, that pity was tempered with disgust at the way he was abusing and frightening that poor girl before hurting her. It was a nice little film. Also, I liked the robot's design and voice.
Fixing somebody by opening them up, doesn't seem logical for a robot to do even if they are self aware. Psychologically is the starting point. This robot is just a serial killer. Unless that's the point?
