Thank you for this informative video. I'm taking the plunge into hobby watch making, and the price of tools is ridiculous. Most of the stuff that says "Made in Switzerland" is made in Asia, with the add-on being the logo in Europe. It's good to know that there are quality tools available to hobbyists who don't have the financial resources to buy the branded stuff.
They are sold under a number of brand names. These screwdrivers work quite well indeed. Ignore the insecure critics who think they need to hide behind an expensive brand.
Bought the set.The 3rd smallest size bent/ twisted while using.Admittedly, was on a stuck screw that held a spring down in a 50 year old watch.Could NOT get the screw out so had to stop at that point since it was holding down the movement works gear.I used two of the other sizes and they performed well..........on screws that were NOT stuck.....same watch.( seconds hand works but hour and minutes hand do not move except when adjusting with crown......loose canon pinion suspected......just could not get to it to crimp it tighter. I will be able to repair the tip of the driver with a sharpening stone.......just was disappointed it bent as easy as it did.😕
Do these say "made in France"? I have a set of Eurotool from Esslinger and it was 6 for $22 and they seem well made. They appear to be identical in the same blue pouch that are sold as A*F Switzerland.
I suspect Burgeon has told them to stop selling their own product under their own name...as it's taking sales away from Burgeon...gotta love dirty business.
That’s easy to say but I doubt you understand the difference in steel. What specifically is different with this set? Do you know or are you speaking without knowledge?
I bought a $9 dollar set of Chinese screwdrivers and replaced the blades with broken drill bits that I annealed. Works well. Blades are very hard and hold their shapes well. No point on wasting money.
I bought these after seeing your video. Hands down they are as good if not a little bit better my bergeon 360 bucks for half the price and a more complete selection
I bought a set of these right after breaking a Bergeon tip. They were just as much garbage as the Bergeon's. I need to find a 20+ years-old set to see if they are worth a damn. Alternatively, I am considering just machining my own tips and then hardening them.
I bought these and and I was disappointed. The bearing on the top is gritty and causes resistance when turning. I broke a couple of tips fairly quickly unscrewing tight watch screws. I returned them because if these deficiencies, but was charged nearly a $40 restocking fee. I would not recommend them.
Yeah but they ain't fly, my man. If these sit on my desk I do not think I'm cool, which I am. I feel like I made it when I get my Horotecs out. I no longer need to get less expensive screwdrivers.
@@hinokikuaimu The biggest issue isn´t where the part is made, it´s the testing and control and the devotion of the people that put the part together. Of course the labour is one part, cheap labour often means cheap product but not always. Today it´s almost impossible to know what is quality for a unknown brand. Almost everything is put together or made in China, company´s like the profit. If the part is made in Germany, France or Sweden the profit goes down.
Otto Frei has a nice set made in France with replaceable tips including the rotating base for $56

When you click the link, the brand is not Armway, they are Optima and currently unavailable as well. I sure would love to buy the Armway drivers.
Hi. The link is no longer valid. Do you have an update please?
This looks like a good tool. Let's give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
Do these say "made in France"? I have a set of Eurotool from Esslinger and it was 6 for $22 and they seem well made. They appear to be identical in the same blue pouch that are sold as A*F Switzerland.
Esslinger has a bunch on their site… I’m looking at some right now.
Amazon link says brand/model is Optima 55-640 is that correct? Might you have a new link to where they are available?
I suspect Burgeon has told them to stop selling their own product under their own name...as it's taking sales away from Burgeon...gotta love dirty business.
I see you have a microscope, it would have been nice to see really close up side by side. But thanks for the tip!
Great video all sold out thanks for information
It’s easy for Chinese companies to replicate these screwdrivers. They look the same, but the steel quality is subpar.
You're talking about the $10 look-alikes. These are different.
That’s easy to say but I doubt you understand the difference in steel. What specifically is different with this set? Do you know or are you speaking without knowledge?
How expensive could that bit of steel possibly be?
@@Mobin92they could even outsource the metal used for the blades, dirt cheap !

I hope all has eased in Florida with the hurricane..

awesome screwdriver set peter
Link is dead. Do you know where I can source these or a comparable set?
China makes low quality but it also makes high quality, but because of branding it’s difficult to know which is which
no longer available...any other options ?
Do a search on Amazon for Bergeon screwdrivers or look at esslingers website
@@watchesandjewelry Thanks, but was hoping cheaper than Bergeon as you mentioned.
Will check.
Starter drivers at Amazon are about 20.00. Search for watchmaker screwdrivers.
They are good to get your feet wet

Where are they made?
are they sold under a different brand/model # in 2022? i can't find these on Amazon or in stock elsewhere!
you can find the same set under several different brand names...
@@watchesandjewelry what are the several different brand names? Should we just search armway on Amazon or do you have an updated link? Thank you!
New link?
where can i find these in 2022?
Search Amazon or eBay. You can also get good sets at esslinger
@@watchesandjewelry not available Peter...
They are pavoned harden steel? What's your opinion vs stainless steel ones?
These aren't available anymore
Link is no longer working (unavailable). Suggestion for another on Amazon comparable?
The following set has lasted me over twenty years.

Thank you very much for your help. I’m not rich, I bought really cheap ones and they are total crap. Made out of dog food tins I think.

Not sure I see the difference between cheap and pricey screwdrivers. If blades are hard and kept stoned properly then it should make no difference.
Pity theses drivers are no longer purchasable anywhere

Out of stock. Bummer.
Didn't bother watching the complete video, as usual not stocked any more.....
Out of stock.
These are made in Taiwan, enough said!
For a few bucks a piece you can put in bergeon tips..
DutchClawz If they fit in the shaft? But thats a good idea! Esslinger has the tips......around $4 I think.
Taiwan makes some facom tools and manufactures EXCELLENT quality tools. Enuf said, you meant that in which way actually? :-)
