    1. Nutrition: Acording to centenarian studies eat beans.
    2. Exercise: It produces good neurotransmitters dopamine, serotonin, etc.
    3. Water: Helps with the transport of triptophane.
    4. Sunshine: It helps you sleep, and it helps with the pain.
    5. Temperance: Equilibrium or Ecuanimity of experience, for example don't abuse Drinking Alcohol/Coffe and don't smoke cigars
    6. Air: Spend time Outdoors/Nature.
    7. Rest: Don't Overwork, basically you're not a machine, you need it.
    8. Trust: have Friends, Family, a Community that you love and loves you, that and a Purpose.
    This is a bad resume but a I try to summarize it as simple as I could so you don't have to see all the talk, its quite boring.

    • @greenapple6
      @greenapple6 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agree Nikhita. The question is then; why have we made our lives so difficult that it becomes hard to implement/live such natural principles? Maybe it is sound to look at our lives in general and first reduce what makes them complicated. Then secondly, incorporate (one by one) these 8 principles

Maybe there should be one for things we should consider stopping or reducing, as they can harm mental health - S-T-O-P (S - Social Media, T- Texting (addicted to your mobile phone) Obesity (too much sugar and refined carbs) P - Procrastination). I think it's true in my 30 years of having mental illness that a person must live a balance God designed us to stay active doing many things. I think that's the key to stay active with people and not be by yourself all the time. To go play basketball eat well go for a drive go walking do art study the Bible a little bit I mean keep active when the brain is active and the body is active you basically are going to have good mental health. What happens to most mental health people they sit around doing the same old thing everyday the mind turns too not thinking well. Everybody needs time alone too. And you need to do a little work.

  • @cristianavila101
    @cristianavila101 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1. Nutrition: Eat beans. People who lived to be 100 had a mostly plant based diet and ate meat about 5 times a month.
    2. Exercise: Exercise alone helps diminish symptoms of depression & anxiety. Being active produces endorphins(happy chemicals) & serotonin in your body.
    3. Water. Our bodies are made of 70% water, 80% of our brain needs components found in water. Water helps those necessary nutrients travel to our brains.*Gets up to drink some water* Water clarifies your mind and makes you happier.
    4. Sunshine. Taking in sunshine helps you sleep, learn, memorize clearer, concentrate better, & decrease levels of pain in our bodies. Amazing.
    5. Temperance. Find a balance in your life that can set you up above the average. Introduce habits & behaviors to help mental health performance. Don't smoke tobacco or drink alcohol, nothing good comes from it. Avoid coffee because it increases symptoms of depression & anxiety. Learn to abstain from harmful things.
    6. Air. Spend time outdoors and let nature do what it was intended to do.
    7. Rest. Getting at least 8 hrs of sleep gives mental clarity, helps you memorize & remember things clearer,enhances creativity, & to think objectively and analytically.
    8. Trust. Keep your family/people you love close & invest in your relationships. Spend a good amount of time with like minded people. Trust in something that gives you a sense of purpose (God, The Universe, Etc.).
    Pick 3 and focus on improving those aspects of your life. He recommends Nutrition, Rest, & Trust.
    Did this on 3.5 edibles. lol

    I agree with most of what he said, which basically consists of common sense. He gave new reasons for doing these things. However, I think everyone is different and certain things, like going to bed early, might not be optimal for everyone.

      Or possible for many? I know families where mum and dad have two jobs each and it's ok having a framework to help your mental health, but whether you can action follow the guidelines and have the time to invest, is another question entirely.

    A lot of what he is saying is not as much causation as corelation. For example, meeting with loved ones at least four times a month isn't a causation it's about the correlation between the frame of mind of prioritizing what is important and ensuring that you adhere to it.
