Welcome back to the farm where today we get busy working with Blue Lilly our new blue roan filly that we picked up last week from Martin's Quarter Horse Farm. This horse is beautiful and has been untouched but today we take some time desensitizing her and she even gets a halter on for the very first time. Colt starting on the farm.

Martins' breed some beautiful horses she's lovely.
I don't think people recognize what a terrorizing method that is for shortcutting the gentling process. Getting more quiet doesn't mean they are more calm. The eyes, the tight body, the flinching to touch tells the story.

She's beautiful and will be prettier once get rid of winter coat. I would be talking softly to her as I pet and brush her, I find that helps calms them also.

She's a beautiful filly. I think your method is a lot kinder than chasing around in a round pen.
Licking and chewing is a sign of nervousness and similar to a person chewing a lip when worried. Just takes kindness and the time that you are giving

I am so thankful for all you do to teach us. So many people do not realize all that goes in to the care and ownership of a horse. Yes, they can live wild and free in certain areas, but those areas are shrinking, and ownership is a very expensive thing. Horses were created for a purpose, just like people. We are happier when we find our purpose, and they are the same. You and your family may be owners, but you are also TEACHERS, of the highest order. Again, Thank you for all you do ! Blue Lilly reminds me of the very first colt my sister bought herself as a teenager to raise and train. He was a Blue Roan Appaloosa, she named him shadow. That happened about 55 years ago, lol! I liked Blake's HiSea advertisement in the middle of the video, it was real cute.

My husband was a minister with the independent Christian church. I know how much is required. Will he be going door to door 2x2?
Yes, he will go door-to-door with a companion they switch companions every few months. I will sure miss him we work well together! Thanks for watching and we will get to communicate every Monday. She will either get to call or FaceTime.

I had a goat that I was deworming with Ivermectin. I had the weight dialed out on the plunger and when I pushed the plunger in, the catch slipped and she got the rest of the wormer, about 1000 pound dose on a 125 pound goat. She was fine and no more worm problem. My vet told me that Ivermectin is a very safe wormer.
Fascinating that Blake is not talking to Blue yet, just brushing on her - one sensation at a time I guess?

She is definitely a nice little filly. Love her blue roan color. Too bad my life didn’t go the way I had dreamed it would be, all my life I wanted to have my own horse ranch and be a veterinarian. It just didn’t happen that way. It will be interesting to see how her color finishes out as she gets older. Sure like the idea of how you use that makeshift shoot, brilliant idea for you guys coming up with that, it sure does work, thanks again for another good video. Blessings to you and your family. 🙏

I'm simply astounded that you're not talking to the horse treating the horse like an object
I used to rescue street/feral cats and find good homes for them. My best way to "tame" them is to use their curiosity. I will place them in a
room alone, with food, water and a potty box. Will go in several times a day to check on food and water, never try to touch and only talk to
myself while there. After a few days the cat will show signs of wanting to come out of the room to explore. Again, never touch, only talk to
myself. It doesn't take long for that cat to be jumping up on my bed to sleep next to me. Then I touch, brush and play with kitty. Ready to be
adopted by new pet parents. By the way, I never charged for an adoption. Am now too old to do any more adoptions, sorry to say. But you
young 'uns can do it this way.

Best way to train Mustangs are feral horses is back the trailer up to the round pen and then have a shoot connected to the round pen run them into the Chute and then from there you can halter break them because you let them out of the Chute into the round pin but while they're in the should you get the halter on them entitled to a post then let them out into the round pin when they're tied to the Post also whether that you can get them used to being touch give the medicine you can trim them brush them pick up their legs all while there in the shootout related to the shoe get them used to having their legs messed with and you can saddle them in when they're in the shoot and then let the mountains around then get them used to saddling

I have a blue Frizzle bantam hen that I named Blue Belle.
Sorry but I'm training my three year old at liberty, she was feral when i rescued her in 2022 , i haven't rushed anything,she will eat out of my hand,knows what touch means and will touch rope and halter by verbal command,we are working on self halter, and yea most would of had her broke by now but im enjoying taking my time..
