Horse training on the farm today as Blake takes Duke one of the horses we bought from a friend on the Navajo Reservation. He is a beautiful horse but was a little defiant in the round pen as Blake started his training session today on the farm. Blake shows dominance but with love and it started to work wonders. We also give puppy shots and dewormer to our cute little Goldendoodle puppies that are ready for their new homes. Their curls are the cutest!

As far as giving shots to puppies that look the same. A good tip is to take a bottle of food coloring and put a dot on a pup after you treat them. With our litter of Shepherd pups each had a cloth color collar assigned to them. This way records were kept by their color until a name for them was decided. Love the care you give to your animals. 💘 🇺🇸

The farmer on "Gold Shaw Farm" wanted another Maremma livestock guardian dog, hoping not only to train her but mate her with the male, Toby, he already had. He found a breeder in California and showed pictures to viewer. The breeder uses lots of dyes on the white dogs to help her determine not only gender but what the dog might be good for: guarding poultry? Some other farm animal? Their attitude? Very colorful dogs!

Just a suggestion: You may want to put how many of some of the items you want. I ordered some food/supplements, but didn’t order you the saddle blanket because I don’t know if someone else had already ordered one. If you don’t set a number, you could end up with 10 blankets or 10 horse treats and no food/supplements. Anyway, I’m so glad to see the Amazon list and so thrilled to be able to help a little with the rescues. Love y’all!! Diane

I had to chuckle when Blake got out the crate for you to step onto get into his truck! I'm 5"1" and my daughter did the same for me on her first truck. Her second truck had a step bumper but I had to still use the crate to get onto the step bumper!

Love the Grullas. Wish I could share a great picture of my Dad from the 60s on his 16 hands Grulla named Pocono. He was the most gentle Stallion I ever knew. My youngest sister used to climb up his neck to get on him and just sit there for hours. She used to walk under his belly all the time. He threw 3 Grulla foals. One of his grandsons and great grandsons were Grulla. The Last last one passed about 5 years ago, Shadow. Shadow was 37 when he passed. All great horses. All smart. All very gentle and loved children. Miss them.
My cousin Rick had one of Pocono’s sons. His name was Duke. Again very sweet and gentle. Unfortunately, someone mistook him for a deer in hunting season, and we lost him in the early 70’s. Lots of great memories watching you work this guy.

I have found it is often not how much time you have but how much time the horse needs. I think it is not about how many circles you make but how many times you change direction correctly that make you the herd leader. Might try taking a few steps back when you catch the horse's eye to draw him in to you.

Fascinating how you can work a horse ! In the old days, you would break a horse. Which I thought was so mean or cruel. Now a days it is much more humane and easier all around. I am learning alot , just by watching and listening to why you do what depends on their behavior !

If you'd like to save some money, order some copper sulfate and make a paste of it with vaseline. Shove that up into the cracks and sulci along the frog, and any hollow spots on the white line. Coppertox is good, but it gets expensive if you've got more than a couple of horses, and the sulfate crystals go a long way. (Dairymen use these crystals in foot baths at the entry of their dairy barns and the cows get a preventative anti-fungal foot wash just walking in and out of the dairy every day.)

This is Carol daily giving you a comment from Oregon you know when you get a defiant horse I'll teach you a little trick and it really does work it's the Indian way you take the horse put them in front of you the stud horse especially snort at them put your hands over their nose and blow into it like a snort and do it a couple times they'll raise your head back sometimes they'll strike you put your foot out first your leg up to their chest even if you have to tap him and then turn around and squeal like you're going to kick him act like you're going to kick him you know like turn around kick and then blowing his nose again and he will be butter in your hands you have more you're more Alpha than he is and that's how you win over a stud horse or defiant horse it's really true try it thank you good luck

My Mom SCREAMED, and then yelled "OMG, Thea, you're going WAY TOO FAST!!" I started laughing, cause I was having fun. "Mom, I'm only up to 35 mph so far." "Oh. Well then. Yippee kiy yay, let's go!" lol!

Just remember Blake, even smart, tuff, young cowboys better wear a seatbelt. You squish just as easy as anyone. Take it from a smart, older gal who knows first hand. I lost a 27yrs old niece in June 2020 (she was by herself driving way to fast when upset) & a 16yr old niece exactly a year later in 2021 of June. First one, the cops said was high speed no seat belt & by the looks of the crash left the road doing over 100mph. The other accident was my other niece with her 66yr old aunt & two 15yr old cousins who were twins. They were minding their business when a drunk swerved into their lane. The only one who walked away was the 66 yr old aunt/mom to the twins & the drunk. The three cousins died. They were a mile from getting home.😭 May the Good Lord lay His hand of protection over you & keep you safe in your new driving adventures. Maybe take up wheeling in snow & mud. That’s what we do up here in Washington state, well except for the loons who run the State & are trying to wreck it.😝 Keep up the good work with your family channel. I love your boldness with your faith! ❤️Christ didn’t die so we could hide it under a bushel.

I hardly recognize Blake without all that hair! Lol. Even though as he mentioned he used to have that cut forever.
