Lexi is my girl... we're together four years... inherited her and sibling four years ago. Bg died of heart attack last summer at 9 years old.. Lexi is ten... I'm a former horse trainer..stunt rider.. horse partner...miss it every day..have a good day😊

I reiterate that the Amish are the main ones that do this to their wrk horses as a basic practice…. After all that are the main group that still use horse power to run their farms and yes other individuals that use horse power for farm work do it too but not on the scale they do it. Buy the way they are notorious for they puppy mills also as they do this on a commercial level. Many rescues try to help these animals out if they have been abandoned but sadly many pups are killed if not up to their standards for resale.

I worked for a rescue group in Las Vegas, NV and I saw first hand what people can do to animals and it makes me sick! Animal abuse on all levels no matter who they are needs to be addressed. Animals do not deserve to be treated the way they are sometimes.

Her change in expression makes me cry. She was so broken when you got her including emotionally, and it was obvious on her face. Now she has a look of quiet, gentle happiness and peace. OMG. Happy tears.
I'm right there with you! I shed a few tears while putting this video together. I hadn't looked back at her original picture in a while and her transformation is amazing. Dr Waggoner was here the other day and she was happy with the progress Anna made in a short time. We are so glad we were able to help her.

I am not even half way through this video, have never owned horses, ( but at 74, now 78) volunteered at the local Parks Equestrian Center because I love these majestic beings. I cried all night because I didn't think she would survive the first night here. She is a fighter who knows love and kindness now and will never be abused again!

I am a senior on a fixed income and with my volunteer work, sharing my garden produce and prayers, that’s my contribution to the world. It’s what I can do. Teach by example. You reach a lot of people and by doing so raise awareness plus you give those beautiful animals a chance to know love and care. Blessings on you all!

So true! They love the attention and being brushed is their favorite. I have to keep them separated these days to brush they because they follow me around to be brushed and cause little scuffles with the other horses. LOL
My daddy had a Belgian for a plow horse back in 1937-39 when I was a toddler, and he was my only playmate. I sat beneath him and played.....he was so careful where he put his feet, and I loved him. He was named SHORTY, can you imagine!!!! I've loved horses ever since, especially the Belgians.

Thank you for watching. Unfortunately it isn’t just eh Amish that abuse horses. Finn for example was owned by someone after working on an Amish farm and those people did not take care of him. They left him in a pasture and then dumped him at the kill lot. It’s so sad what happens to these beautiful animals.
It is not fair nor accurate to state 'Amish'. This is called a 'generalization' and simply not accurate. I'm involved in cattle/horses and trust me, ALL cultures are capable of neglect. I staunchly object to labeling 'Amish' as abusers. Identify the abuser by name or omit that information.
Boycott all Amish products that will send a message to the Amish very quickly we won’t tolerate cruelty to Animals buy a tractor and stop the Animal abuse!!

I'm so happy that you are letting Anna's mane and tail grow out. I think it makes her look more like a mare not like a stallion who is all neck. Why do the workhorses always have to have their tails docked so short? It would seem like they have so much sweat from working that they would want them to be able to have their tail and their mane to be able to swat or shake their mane to get rid of flies, horse flies or yellow jackets.

I'm from South Africa and we have numerous unused and unwanted horses especially race horses which are not bringing in the money and are abandoned, slaughtered, used for pulling overloaded carts to scrap yards and those sold for street races. So pleased pleased with what you are doing.❤
We do have the Pony Cart organisation which ensures that the ponies are well fed and cared for. The carts are not allowed out in bad weather either very hot or very wet and stormy and there are mandatory rest periods as well. Pony cart drivers are issued relief ponies while their ponies are resting. This is the procedure in Cape Town - not sure about other areas in the country.
I do not understand how any person could starve and mistreat any animal. An eye for an eye people. We all go for a life review in heaven. Those of you who have abused animals will get to enjoy that same pain. I do find a bit of pleasure knowing that fact. Anna is a beautiful horse. I hope she is happy on your farm. Anna’s face is so feminine. Belgians have really beautiful heads with big soft,expressive, eyes. How anyone could use and abuse these animals into early graves, literally, is beyond me. We are a Therapeutic Horsemanship Facility. We have a few donated horses who needed rehab in one way or another. We have found that time & patience are the best healers. Bless you all for your important work!!
I also worked with a Belgian mare @ a different Therapeutic facility. Most of the volunteers there didn't want to handle her because she could be stubborn. I liked her even though she had a mind of her own. We became very close. I'll never forget her!!
No wonder poor Anna was so down. Besides her health, she was also mourning the loss of her foal. She is certainly in greener pastures now, thanks to your efforts.

I'm so happy that you are letting Anna's mane and tail grow out. I think it makes her look more like a mare not like a stallion who is all neck. It's amazing that it has taken a year for her to get to look as good as she is right now.

Thank you so much! We appreciate your support! All the horses that come in with short manes and tails we will always allow them to grow and never cut them back again.
Why do the workhorses always have to have their tails docked so short? It would seem like they have so much sweat from working that they would want them to be able to have their tail and their mane to be able to swat or shake their mane to get rid of flies, horse flies or yellow jackets.
@@staceyhunt5342 the Amish cut their tails if they are pulling equipment so their tails don’t get caught up in it.

I'm from South Africa and we have numerous unused and unwanted horses especially race horses which are not bringing in the money and are abandoned, slaughtered, used for pulling overloaded carts to scrap yards and those sold for street races. So pleased pleased with what you are doing.❤
We do have the Pony Cart organisation which ensures that the ponies are well fed and cared for. The carts are not allowed out in bad weather either very hot or very wet and stormy and there are mandatory rest periods as well. Pony cart drivers are issued relief ponies while their ponies are resting. This is the procedure in Cape Town - not sure about other areas in the country.

I do not understand how any person could starve and mistreat any animal. An eye for an eye people. We all go for a life review in heaven. Anna looks like a completely different horse. She is very beautiful and doing so well. I just wish you had been able to get her foal too. You and your Husband are Angels with the work you do. Anna looks so good, happy and enjoying life. Just watching her get a wee bit cross with the donkey at feeding time, perhaps she had to fight to get any food from where she was. People can be mean, cruel and nasty to other people, all animals and life because they are disconnected from their heart and Soul.
She is getting so much better with your help thank you saving a beautiful mare who deserves to be there with you I know that she appreciates everything you have done for her. Thank you and all whom tries their best to save our beautiful horses from being killed or made to suffer from ppl who have no reasons to have any type of animals U know sometimes I wish that the court system would punish the people whom did horrible things too any animals . If they starved them then the people got to be starved , any sort of abusement that person should have done to them . If anyone hurts an Animal and what ever there crime was they should be done the same. Animals doesn't deserve us .

Anna’s face is so feminine. Belgians have really beautiful heads with big soft,expressive, eyes. How anyone could use and abuse these animals into early graves, literally, is beyond me. We are a Therapeutic Horsemanship Facility. We have a few donated horses who needed rehab in one way or another. We have found that time & patience are the best healers. Bless you all for your important work!!
I also worked with a Belgian mare @ a different Therapeutic facility. Most of the volunteers there didn't want to handle her because she could be stubborn. I liked her even though she had a mind of her own. We became very close. I'll never forget her!!
No wonder poor Anna was so down. Besides her health, she was also mourning the loss of her foal. She is certainly in greener pastures now, thanks to your efforts.
