Yes Mitch, we enjoy your videos and love watching them😌 I have one teeny tiny request, if possible of course. If it suits you, and circumstances allows it, can you make them a little longer? xx
that is planned! 😉 -- he starts slowly. I think, it's a wise decision. it's a new channel and something like, "nah, I don't even click on a video that's half an hour long"-inhibition definitely exists. so, everything has to be taken into consideration and is at a slight trade-off at the beginnings.
You might want to consider investing in a fence post driver. They are like $50 but sure would save you some time and the soreness of using a sledge hammer!
I really enjoy this type of content so appreciate you creating this channel. I look forward to watching the progress as it all starts coming together. 😊
I am so glad that i am part of the 27.3k plus subscribers that can follow the 4th video of this new channel. Many times when you discovering an existing channel there would tons of videos to catch up to...luckily here is only 4😂
Like these videos? Yes. More, please. I especially like the explanations of decisions, your logic and reasoning. Even backing into the garage to park is preparation for the next time you go anywhere. I have often wondered about how much time it takes to get some of the shots in your videos. I may be part of that older generation of which you speak and have been using computers since the 70s and found your property on Google maps in about 10 minutes. Don’t worry, I won’t tell.
hi Shannon and super nice seeing you on her 👋 awesome observation. yes, you definitely have a good eye for the detail (that's how you knew how to find him. a constant concern of countless many TH-camrs. I know one with over half a million subscribers on here. it's really difficult to avoid being doxed online. even when you think you play it super safe with everything you show, people still figure ways-including sending air tags to their Po boxes! 😲 I myself am eerily good in finding things and usually have a good dimensional awareness.) but what was my point again? yeah, I started because when I was in the army, it was mandatory for us to pull in backwards every single time. I mean, you might need to get away quickly, you never know. -- cheers! 😊
@@HxTurtle Sending air tags to PO boxes?! I shouldn't be as surprised as I am. The quick and easy getaway is why I prefer to back in. Other Army vets I know do the same. I am former USAF myself.
I'm from Australia, and have always enjoyed your main channel. Now that you're doing this new project, it's even more exciting as I love construction etc. I'm excited to see what you do... Keep up the good work man! :)
My family has 2.5 acres, and my step-dad has made it his life mission to conquer the gophers! He's so passionate about it he can be scary. He's always trying to come up with ways to win the gopher war. 🤣 He's weird but I love him.
I got groundhogs. I found that jalapeno peppers catch them real fast. I just set up a raccoon trap with a pepper inside and two hours later I have a friend.
Great video man! I build fence every day and you GOTTA invest in a gas powered pounder. You could’ve got that done way faster. Also get a fork attachment for your skid steer!
Love all of the work you put into your videos! It’s noticed and appreciated. Would love them to be even longer! But understand the time and effort it takes to do so. I love that we even get to see the little bit of behind the scenes that we do. Thank you for all of it!
On a homestead (152 acres) in rural southwest Missouri, and I can tell you the best thing at keeping the rabbits and deer at bay is to get a couple of beagles. There is really nothing they like better than chasing the wildlife. Gophers and moles only have supporters from those who have never had to deal with them. Good luck.
Keep posting these types of videos… its nice to see a different side of you. Btw… my husband laughs at me because of my OCD when it comes to cleaning my car. Especially when I break out my Detail Geek detail brushes 😂
My father said b4 u take a shovel or n this case a post hole digger u should probably saturate the ground w/water by hose, buckets,or after it rains.Make the task much easier.😊
Bite your tongue, sonny, about the old folks not understanding TH-cam. TH-cam is my main source of entertainment and information from when one of my appliances breaks down to relaxing content like yours making filthy cars clean again. I have 8 acres, four of which I need to landscape. That's why I'm at this channel.
I think TH-cam ate my comment about how we all love the videos and The Yard Geek rules so I'm saying it again! Great job on the fence and camera in the shopping cart explanation. The cashier was a doll! 🤣
It's beautiful property! Just don't overdo it if you are by yourself out there. Ruby is definitely an expensive one. She's pretty though. You are one of the hardest working men I've seen in a long time.
Mitch I’ve watched your main channel for a few years and I like it very much. This channel looks interesting and I’m along for the journey. I know Mike makes a cameo from time to time but I think it would bring a little bit more depth to you and this grand project if we saw you interact with other people, like the woman at Home Depot. It would be nice to see you get a hand from others or crack a beer open with a friend. Just a thought …. Keep the videos coming! 😃 (P.S. yes I do like and am a subscriber.)
Gophers eat earthworms and earthworms like acidic soils. If you "sweeten" your soil by applying lime, the earthworms will move to more acidic soil areas and the gophers will follow them. Apply lime 2x a year (spring and fall), preferably just before a rain, so it washes into the soil. Most lawn-type grasses prefer sweeter soil, also, so the lime also helps keep your lawn happy. A golf course groundskeeper taught me this little trick...it works!
I love these videos Mich. Don't stop making them. Good luck with Mike helping. Longer would be nice, say 20 minutes or so. I just can't believe you do all this work by yourself with no help. You are amazing. You remind me of another you tube channel I watch, what a guy took two metal container, and built a home out of them by himself for his family in the middle of nowhere in Texas.
It's so weird to see you in non car washing attire. I almost expected you to start detailing the bobcat when you backed it in. Enjoying the new channel.
Be careful with the roundup spray please (though I know you always check things out). Hopefully they’ll be a nice balance between wildlife and pollinators etc. very interesting videos as well. My husband and I are looking at retirement soon - I’m working and he’s the gardener with his plumeria varieties here in So Cal. We’ve got hawks, coyotes, raccoons and possums in our housing tract. It must be incredible to live where you are and see that amazing view. 😊
Dude, get a post pounder! Sold rather cheap at any home improvement store or feed store. Its a cylinder with a weight at the closed end and handles. Slip the open end over the post and pound away. Much easier than what you're doing.
@@TheYardGeek, yeah I should read a few of the comments myself. I see now that I was probably the 15th person to let you know about those post pounders. A bobcat works too.
Hey Mitch, I always enjoy your videos! They are very relaxing. I do hope to see many more of your awesome videos! Thank you so very much for sharing them, they make my day! 💣💪❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🙃🤗🥰
The fence will be doubled, but it’s not intended as a true deer fence as it’s not high enough. I’m hoping it deters them enough that they just go eat my neighbours plants/trees instead 🤣
Hi Mitch love watching your videos and your should get Mike off the couch and help you with the fence you might have to coast him a little it would be good for him to get out and work a little lol see you in the next one have a great weekend Mitch

To keep out deer, you either need a taller fence or a double shorter fence. A post driver will be your best friend.
The fence will be doubled, but it’s not intended as a true deer fence as it’s not high enough. I’m hoping it deters them enough that they just go eat my neighbours plants/trees instead 🤣

Love the little lady at the Home Depot. She was cute. WOW Ruby was hungry. LOL.
My guess is that you're gonna need a taller fence. Deer can easily clear a 5 to 6 foot fence.
Correct. It's not meant to be a true deer fence but rather more of a deterrent.....so they go and eat my neighbours plants and trees instead 🤣
