- Michigan basketball hired its new head coach in Dusty May, thought it appeared all day on Saturday that May was headed to Louisville to take over the Cardinals. What it means for the basketball program moving forward and how it happened.
But that brings alight the bigger question: what to do with Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel? Much maligned, Manuel has consistently done what fans have said he wouldn't and not done what fans have said he would. We've told you all along he's not the enemy many believe him to be and now we're busting open the narrative that Manuel is the chief problem among athetics.
Then, we get into a milieu of football topics, ranging from Mason Graham saying he isn't leaving Michigan football to Donovan Edwards now being healthy and really increasing in maturity and leadership.

There is something about the group of kids from 2021 through to now. Maybe it's just because they won so much and were in the line light that made them the most endearing group I've ever experienced being a Michigan football lover for 37 years. It obviously has alot to do with the winning but the kids are just so unbelievable. It did seem like a giant family and they made the fans feel more apart of that than I can ever remember. I'll never forget these guys. They were and are truly the most special band of Michigan brothers that have ever put on the uniform! Great players and even better human beings. Great job by the staff for finding them and mentoring them to be the types of kids you want representing the program you love so much
I think Dusty May is a very solid coach who excelled with the tools he had and hopefully he can maximize the tools a program like Michigan provides for him because as we’ve seen in the past Michigan being maximized is a contender.

I think you're giving warde to much credit. Rumor is beilien closed the deal and joined warde and was the one that convinced dusty to come.

Warde has done his job with the hire but he hasn't got us caught up with other top universities.
Warde Manuel does not control the UM admissions process or ultimately NIL. Manuel can only encourage large donors to contribute to NIL and, as he is doing, improve the administration of NIL. Listen to what Hole is saying. UM's administration is not controlled by the AD. In fact, the AD has to adhere to what the UM President and/or Trustees want. Manuel has performed admirably under the circumstances. For example, if Manuel had not reduced Harbaugh's contract, Harbaugh would not have made the significant changes that he needed to make to turn the program around. So, although it may not be the popular thing to do (we love to blame a "boogeyman"), Manuel should be applauded for his performance.

Warde sucks. Jim won in spite of him. Juwan should have been canned multiple times. He cost Michigan millions of dollars to give his buddy Juwan a nice severance.
The narrative that Jim was always going to leave no matter what is simply just not true. At one time Jim was completely bought into retiring from Michigan. Then Warde publicly humiliated Jim by cutting Jim's pay in half in 2020. Pushing Jim away from Michigan.
There is so much more that he does which is just mind numbingly dumb and lazy..but by all means kiss the ring for your Michigan access.
Warde cut Harbaugh’s pay in half after 2020 as a warning to change things up or he’d be fired… a good chance Harbaugh wouldn’t have made all those coaches changes going into the 2021 season if he got a huge pay raise. And if we didn’t make those changes we wouldn’t have won the championship this year. The absolute only thing I can say I blame Warde for in football was not doing a little more to keep Ben Herbert, but Harbaugh wanted a Lombardi and Minter was gone to the NFL after this season anyways too no matter the pay. I don’t get the narrative about Warde with football.
@@yedmic16 Simply not true. In 2020 Warde told Jim to go look for NFL jobs and if he wanted to come back to Michigan he would only do it at a reduced price. Warde claims the only reason he did that because it was Covid and a weird year. If this was the case, he should have never cut his pay and allowed Jim to maintain a full salary.

The 2nd bill of particulars were given to Michigan by the NCAA last week, after Michigan returned the first set. MIchigan has 60 days to respond to the 2nd. Then the NCAA will hand out the punishments. Why would the NCAA bother with the reams of paperwork required and 4 months of waiting if there was no there there?
